This is a wonderful place to stay. So much more than a boutique B& B. The location and view are…read moreunbeatable and the rooms are equal to those of a 5-star hotel. The house is new and well-furnished with quality and comfort in mind. It is quiet, comfortable, immaculate and Armand and Lael are the best hosts you can imagine...We are so pleased that we decided to stay here instead of in a big hotel.
We enjoyed the personal touches and attention that Villa Lavaux offered...Armand and Lael were wonderful hosts and such interesting and informative people...very helpful with planning daily events and making dinner recommendations, as well as being personable, friendly and interested in discussing what is going on in the world. We got lost when we arrived (our fault) and Armand came to our rescue with a big smile and led us "home".
Our room was large & thoughtfully furnished (top floor with a balcony). The bed was wonderful, as was the large bathroom with a huge tub and a great rain shower. Wifi worked well and was easy to use. Oops, I have forgotten to mention the breakfasts....they are the best! Lael provides a large selection of locally-sourced products: breads, cheeses, fruit, eggs, homemade jams, coffee/tea....it was all delicious.
We visited in November and it was beautiful, but cool. We can only imagine how great it must be to visit in the warmer months. The views must be magnificent across the lake and warmer weather would make outdoor activities even better. Villa Lavaux is ideally located close to Lausanne and Vevey-Montreaux. An easy drive or train ride in either direction. The immediate area is beautiful...the house is located in the midst of the famous terraced vineyards. Great for taking a walk!
If you are in this area of Switzerland, Villa Lavaux is THE place to stay. We have such wonderful memories of our visit...It's not often you find a place that offers so much. Villa Lavaux is the real deal!
