OK, here's the story. We are visiting Bordeaux from California. I have been playing guitar for 40…read moreyears and I didn't bring one on this trip. We wanted to investigate purchasing a small guitar just for this trip, so we went to Cactus to try some guitars. Now, to be honest, I didn't look very good as we were in exercise clothes since we had been on a long morning walk. Anyway, we entered the store and Giuseppe offered to help us. First, he chastised me for daring to remove a guitar from the rack without assistance. OK, my bad, but really?
Once I started playing the guitar (a small Martin guitar) I noticed that the action was too high and I mentioned it to Giuseppe. Instead of asking me if I JUST MIGHT know a little something about Martin guitars (I own 8 Martin guitars), he treated me as if I was a total idiot. He said "Oh no this is the way it is designed." I said, yes, but I would need it to be adjusted before I buy it. Again, he had no respect whatsoever. He acted as if I knew nothing. Whatever happened to treating a customer with respect? Needless to say I had no interest in any further dealings with this store or this salesman. What a waste of time!
