Le Poeme I went…read morethere for lunch with my husband during our visit in Grignan. Such a lovely village! The place was well decorated and the lady who welcomed us was very attentive and kind. We took the lunch menu at 29 euros. First we got little amuse-bouche, warm toast with olive cream, then cream of asparagus with fresh cut vegetables. Followed by gazpacho with side of ham and perfectly cooked shrimps with curry and tomato sauce. I'm not a fan of curry, but the taste wasn't strong. It was delicious!!! I got the suggestion of the day: risotto aux cèpes with chicken stuffed with fois gras and my husband got the steak with mashed sweet potatoes. As dessert verbena sorbet with warm berries with a bit of alcohol. What a wonderful afternoon meal. I strongly recommend it!

I…read morechose the rumpsteak, which was very flavorful but so, so grisly, it was impossible to eat it. Rumpsteak was flavorful, but I would have gladly paid more for a more tender cut of meat. IMO, this shouldn't have been served without marinating it to break the membrane down more or grinding it up and making a terrine or meatloaf from it. I would still recommend, as all other foods at our table were very good...
