Coming from a…read morebackground as a parole officer, she spoke to us and treated us like we were already on parole rather than her clients. Instead of advocating for us, she was rude takes things personal and pressured us to accept a poor plea deal that was not in our best interest, seemingly because she didn't want to put in the work required for a real negotiation. She seemed to be working for the prosecution and not the defense to hand them a win. When we pushed back and asked for actual representation she took it personally and lacked professionalism by withdrawing from the case entirely. If you want an attorney who will actually fight for you and treat you with basic respect, look elsewhere."

READ BEFORE HIRING I…read moredo not usually go out of my way to defame a company for poor service but I have to act when it arises to this level. If I could give 0 stars, I would. In 2018 Mayer Law firm represented me in a divorce action against my current wife. Subsequently we reconciled but after a year or so refiled. My STBX is beyond narcaccistic and manipulative woman. She persuaded my first wife with whom I share 50/50 placement and custody over our son to file for primary placement and custody in hopes of opening two fronts with which to beat me into submission. Mayer law firm was privy to confidential information and clearly should not be representing my first wife in ANY legal action involving information they were privy to. They failed to perform BASIC and STANDARD practices of performing a conflict of interests check when being retained by my first wife. After presenting them with a letter stating the facts and information, I was asked in their office, well.... You won't waive conflict of interest? To which I politely stated "No I will not" After speaking on the phone, again asking if they intended to remain my ex wife's legal consul, they stated yes. For those thinking of using Mayer Law firm I would ask these questions: 1) If the basic functions of ensuring a potential case does not present clear conflict of interest and breach of confidentiality cannot be performed, how well will your case be handled? 2) After the fact, when "finding" out, willing to ethically violate and continue the case, knowing full well you are in violation of ethical and legal clauses meant to protect clients, continuing because I do not have an attorney to force the issue. ( I have consulted with 5 separate legal malpractice attorneys and EACH and every one has said the moment there are damages with which I can pursue they will take my case, one going as far as to say "If they stay on the case they do not have a brain between their ears" ) 3) If they are willing to ethically violate something to this degree, are they really in your best interest? 4) I have submitted an ethics complaint and have been told I have a very viable ethics violation. Do you want a law firm who violates their own ethics oaths? You are about to spend thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars. Ensure you hire someone that does not violate basic tenants of their profession.

THESE ATTORNEYS ARE UNETHICAL!…read more About a year ago, I loaned a friend $4K to pay this law firm to retain their services after he was arrested on a drug charge. I had to use my debit card to pay the lawyer and was not given any information from the lawyer about what I was actually paying for. My "friend" never paid me back and skipped bail and is now wanted and on the run in another state. In the time since I paid his lawyer he stole from me and caused a lot of other problems for me and I don't want to have any connection to him anymore. I contacted the lawyer and stated the issue clearly and asked if it would be possible to refund the amount I paid. I asked him if he could charge his client (my former "friend") for the retainer, rather than use my funds. The lawyer denied my request, stating that I had paid to retain his services for his client and couldn't request a refund until the case was complete. However, despite claiming that I had paid to retain his services, I was given no paperwork to show what I had paid and I doubt I even have any legal claim to those funds if the case is ever "completed". Is it ethical for a lawyer to keep third party funds as a retainer when I have no desire to fund their clients legal defense in any way? I feel it is completely unethical to make someone pay for the defense of their client who stole from me. What I'm worried about is that if the client dismisses the lawyer that the funds I provided will just be returned to them and not me. I am very low income and this represented a majority of my savings. I am hoping that this law firm will do the right thing and return the money I paid and let their client pay for his own defense!

I was recommended by Atticus to check out Tabak Law. After reading about them it seemed like a good…read moreidea to have them help me with my SSDI/SSI claim, so that's what I did. Everything seemed like it was going great in the beginning then things seemed to feel a bit off. I started getting follow up phone calls from several different assistants on my case. And each one would ask me for info that the last one already asked for. Then I received a call from an assistant that I couldn't even understand most of the time...and I thought the assistant GiGi was bad. He proceeded to tell me that he is calling to double check information that they have for my case so he started reading off my health conditions. And low and behold he names off Diabetes....I stopped him and asked who gave him that condition, it wasn't me. He said its in my records. Well I DID NOT give him or anyone else that condition because I don't suffer from Diabetes. Now mind you this fella was #6 assistant on my case. I was already frustrated with this law firm because of all the assistants I had to talk to and the misinformation they had. When I started my case I was told that Lauren was my lawyer but she never called me and I never had a chance to talk to her either, it was always an assistant. By this time I had gotten denied twice and we were now waiting for a hearing date. When we finally received the date for said hearing and after sending repeated info to them I receive a call from a different attorney in this law firm and his name is Anthony and he's telling me he is my lawyer and he's calling to chat about what to say and not to say in said hearing. I was totally lost and baffled because I had never heard of this attorney. When you hire an attorney you expect to talk to and keep the same attorney for you case. Not with this firm. They keep you guessing and wondering who you will talk to next and what information they will ask for AGAIN!! When we had this hearing Anthony didn't say much at all to the judge, on my case or about me, as my attorney. Before all this crap happened I was gonna let them go but was scared to because I didn't know what it would do to my case. I was struggling mentally because I've never been in this kind of situation where I couldn't work and support myself so I continued. I wish I could go back in time because I don't think they deserve 25% of anything. I feel taken advantage of during this whole case. I also feel that what I had told the judge in this said hearing had a lot to do with finally getting approved on the 3rd go around. So if you feel the urge to hire them PLEASE make sure you know and or get all the information needed to make the right decision! If you are going to have a positive law firm you need to make sure you have one assistant and one attorney for one customer, no more then 2 assistants because it just makes everything confusing and lost!!!
