The front desk staff is great. If they seem cranky, it's because they're stuck trying to make impossible demands from the doctors work--when the doctor says to schedule a person for a follow-up on a particular day but there are no openings left for that doctor within a week of the day in question, and this happens 11 times, yes, the staff gets cranky. But they remain the bright spot for this place. At least they're consistently there. Otherwise, be prepared to be a dollar sign on a conveyor belt. Be prepared to have questions and concerns brushed off and ignored if you are given a chance to ask them at all. Be prepared to be rushed in, given a cursory examination by someone you've never seen before, and then sent on your way. Even if you're coming frequently for an ongoing condition, you won't form a relationship with a doctor, so your followups are pretty much meaningless. Ask if you can try to see the same one for consistency and just be told they all have your chart, so it doesn't matter. No, it doesn't matter if you're just going to get a 2 minute session with someone who doesn't listen, doesn't give you time to speak, and brushes off any question or comment you manage to squeeze in. Tell the doctor you have so much pain you can't wear tampons and be told to try using lube. I really don't think he fully heard the question. You have to listen to hear, and if you take the time to listen to your patients, you might not be able to fit in as many and won't turn as high a profit. But they're good at prescribing you birth control and sending you bills, just bad at anything requiring thought or medical training. read more

I am writing this review so other consumers can understand the type of organization this is. I was a patient here for over 20 years and attended my annual appointments consistently. Recently, I experienced changes in my body that were believed to be related to menopause. I explained my symptoms to the doctor, and based solely on a conversation--without any testing or examination--I was prescribed medication. That treatment caused an infection. When I called to report the infection, I was told they could not treat symptoms and that I would need to be seen in the office. This response was confusing and frustrating. The doctor had no issue prescribing medication for a major life change like menopause based only on symptoms, yet refused to treat a very common infection--especially one clearly caused by the prescribed medication. No one asked about my medical history, despite the fact that my medical chart would show I have a history of developing infections from certain medications. I was then given a dismissive explanation about the body developing resistance from treating infections "you don't really have." Any woman knows when she has this type of infection. That explanation was not only unbelievable but felt like an excuse to force an office visit. This approach contributes to unnecessary medical costs and higher insurance premiums, and it feels more like a money-making routine than patient care. I contacted administration to discuss telehealth options, especially for follow-up care. After 20 years as a patient, I expected my records to be reviewed and considered. Instead, I was told telehealth was not an option--period. If that is the policy, that's fine, but it should be clearly stated. I will be finding a new gynecologist who offers Telehealth for follow-up appointments. Atrium needs to do better. Read patient charts. Know your patients. Loyalty clearly means nothing here. I find this practice impractical: they will prescribe medication for life-altering conditions without testing, but refuse to address very common, well-known symptoms unless you come into the office. Be aware of what you're getting. I am no longer a patient, and I am extremely disappointed in how I was treated after 20 years of loyalty. read more

Don't go here. The doctors are dismissive, the staff is rude. They refused to do anything about my fibroids for years using the wait and see approach. Despite complaining that the hurt and I had bad periods. I was told they don't hurt and put on birth control. In the end I had to get a hysterectomy. Had this been delt with earlier my outcome may have saved my uterus. read more

I went in terrified that something was horribly wrong and walked out breathing a huge HUGE sigh of relief, and everyone was so kind and helpful. The doctors here delivered all three of my children and were all wonderful. I know that it's impossible to please everyone but I for one am grateful that this practice exists. read more

The doctors are great, particularly Dr. Wychanko. The Nurses are all very kind and helpful, however, the staff at the front is absolutely horrible. They are very rude, particularly the blonde one, who is on the younger side. She was so aggressive with everything she said and I, a woman in her 20's who is usually very passive and just lets things slide, felt the need to say " i'm sorry, is there a problem that I am not aware of?" because she was making a huge fuss about my insurance changing. As soon as I said that she snapped out of it pretty fast. I wasn't going to write a review, but upon seeing other people complaining about the front staff as well on here, I felt like I needed to chime in too. She rubbed me the wrong way, and made me feel uncomfortable, especially when I was already nervous about my appointment due to the fact that I was getting a lump in my breast examined. The staff at the front should be there to make everyone feel at ease, not piss them off!! I just thought it was very unprofessional and she should be reprimanded. read more

Do not come here. The doctors are good, but the scheduling and appt times are horrible. They are always 30-45 minutes behind. When confronted about it, they were very rude and blamed us, the patient for scheduling at 4pm. read more

I am 36 weeks pregnant and this is my obgyn office. I wouldn't suggest going here to anyone. The doctors are fine but any time I call to speak to the nurse when I believe something is wrong or if I have a question, I sit and wait for a half hour or more for someone to pick up the phone, or if I leave a message nobody calls me back for hours. Now tell me, what if I was in labor and was calling to inform them for a doctor to be sent to the hospital I'm delivering at? absolutely the most poor service I have EVER received in my life. read more

I used to love this office until I got pregnant. The office seems to be super unorganized because they take in way too many patients. They rotate you through all their doctors whether you like it or not. Each appointment I would see someone new & have to explain everything that has happened up to that point. They never read the chart & If I went in for illness they didn't know why I was there once I seen the dr. I had to ask them to schedule my last ultrasound because they "forgot". Pregnancy is not a time where I want extra stress. I should be able to depend on my doctors office to know whats going on. Other than that, the staff is extremely friendly. read more

I'm actually glad "they could not see me". Called to schedule a new patient appointment, when the front desk answered the phone I explained I wanted to schedule an appointment for a new patient she asks me well who's your insurance through I said Caresource, she replies back with well we are not seeing any new Caresource patients and hung up. What a lovely first impression! I work at a doctors office and I'm also in the billing department, so I called back and talked to a different front desk staff member, told her what had happened and explained to her that I do have Caresource however I do not have Medicaid. She replied back with well these get tricky, so she transferred me to the billing department (how ironic the same department I work in) it goes straight to voice mail I leave a message. Not surprised I get no return phone call back so I called two days later and spoke to the biller. Explained the whole situation to her (for the second time explaining myself). I stated apparently having Caresource defaults to me having a Medicaid plan, however I don't. I pay $260.00 a month for my insurance have a Deductible, with 20% coinsurance and $50 copay. I laughed. Still after stating they do take my insurance they couldn't see me at their office. Still laughing that my two jobs and $3,120.00 a year I spend on health insurance was not good enough to get an appointment there. Guess I'm going else where. Maybe a place that states they take my insurance and actually follows through without defaulting every patient to a Medicaid plan. Thank goodness I don't work for a company that turns away paying patients that need medical attention. read more

I was very disappointed. Today was my first time to come to Atrium, so I got lost and was 5 minutes late. When I walked in the door, there was a very long line to check in and only 1 worker. At 8:00 2 more workers came. However, by the time I got to the desk, it was 8:10 and the desk worker told me that I was 15 min. late, so I would have to reschedule (even though I had been waiting in line). While she was looking for a date, which she informed me would be quite a wait, the nurse came and called me, but the front desk worker told me that I would still have to reschedule and would not be seen. I did reschedule, because I want to give the doctor a chance and see how the doctors and nurses are. It is just very frustrating that it was ok for them to call me 15 min. late, but would not see me because I was 5 minutes late. I hope the doctors and nurses are more understanding and kind or I will be looking for another OBGYN office. Not impressed on my first visit. read more
