I went into Atomic Motors several months ago and had my 2 front leather seat covers replaced. Amazing work, customer service and awesome price . This showroom of vehicles are like something out of a movie . Flawless detail and a variety vehicles from powered bicycles to heavy duty fully restored off road vehicles. Fast forward 2 weeks ago I stopped in because my wife's commuter vehicle had an issue with the door lock and I stopped in to see Drew who is always in and prepared to look at and answer any and all questions. This staff is amazing. Needless to say they fixed our problem within minutes and I spoke to Drew about an old 79 Olds I wanted to restore but the vehicle was in Houston,TX.Without hesitation he said bring it in. I dropped off the car on Monday 7/16/18 and today I came in and they are on the ball. I met the Owners Bill and Cat today and what a pleasure . Bill gave me a tour of his facility and made sure all my questions were answered and that I was being taken care of . I really enjoyed hanging with the Boss he is a Sharp Man. Atomic Motors is a 100% legit business ! They are 100% professional and knowledgeable about this industry. From Owner all the way down to cleaning lady they treat you like family . Taking my car to Atomic Motors has become a nightmare! I purchased my dream car, 1973 Camaro, in January. I decided to do some upgrades. I shopped around and was quoted prices. I also went on line and looked up the cost of all the parts. On a Saturday morning, my wife and I went to visit the show room. We were very impressed. Darrin and Jack were awesome. I decided then to get a quote from them for the upgrades. I received a price that was substantially higher than the others, but justified it by thinking we were dealing with true professionals and my car would be done right. I mean my car is worth that! Tred told me it would take about 2 weeks. The labor cost would be $145.00 per hour. He gave me an approximate estimate of $12,000, which I thought at the time was extremely high, but I understood the car is 50 yrs old and they weren't sure what they would find. Tred did say that if they found something unforeseen, I would get a call and if I agreed, I would sign a change order. The very first Friday they asked for $7,071.00 to get started. Mind you, I did my homework, I knew what the parts cost ( $3,500.00 aprox ). I figured they probably use some of the money for labor as well. On the estimate it stated that I was to bring in a check every Friday, but I never received a call or was asked for money until the end. I was popping in every now and again, to see progress. I found it strange that they were never working on my car. ( Only one time did I see them working on the carpet install ). Seven weeks later... my car was ready. Mind you, I was never told that they were approaching the estimated price much less that they were way past it!! As you can imagine, I was shocked beyond belief when they gave me the final invoice for $15,604.26. This is a project that went from $12,000 to $22,675.26. I understand going over a grand perhaps two, but this was ridiculous!! I run my own business so I know good business practices. Not to inform the customer that the cost is exceeding the initial estimate, is criminal and just appalling. I paid the price and took my car home. After thinking about this, I scheduled an appointment with Bill, the owner, and Tred to discuss. They would not make any accommodations on the price. Recent update: While taking it for a drive, 7 days later, it completely gave out. Everything shut down. They gave me a warranty of 1 month, but do I want to take it back?? I think not!! read more

Read the many other negative reviews before you waste your time and money. Took my classic Mustang n to have Tune up and A/C work done. After 3 days with little communication and a bill of almost $1500 the a/c still did not work and car was stalling. Took it back they charge me additional $250 to get it running right and wanted $400 more to get a/c working. I had enough and came and pick up car! read more

I had what I thought was a few electrical gremlins in my 64 Chevy II. I have had it at a few shops around town for roughly a year now and paid for countless hours of "DIAGNOSIS". All they did was add more wire to bypass problems which has now created more problems. I have driven past Atomic hundreds of times and did not know how big it was. Hesitantly I brought my car in. They were up front with me the entire time my car was there. The electrical department was very knowledgeable and explained the issues so that I could understand them. They fixed the issues and removed a pile of butt connectors. I will be a customer of theirs for life. read more

STAY AWAY! TOTAL SHYSTERS AND THIEVES! I brought a 67' fleetwood in to have the fuel tank cleaned, a tune up & all the keys done, Rob quoted me 4 hours @ $125 p/h for the tank and 4 hours for the carb labor plus a carb kit to rebuild, I said "I have a carb to replace the existing one" to save money on hours and a rebuild kit, Rob "says no problem" as long as its 650 cfm, I bring the carb in and ask for him to let me know what the work estimate would be, he says "no problem I'll let you know" he does stipulate that all work for the week no matter what stage in repair the vehicle is in the bill has to be paid every Friday, I say "no problem" this was on a Wednesday Jan.7th, Friday rolls around, no calls, I call, talk to John and ask for Rob, rob isn't there, ok well then I'd like to at least find out what the job is gonna cost, he says "doesn't say, but there is a $296 balance for parts here that must be paid asap".... I pay that over the phone, weekend rolls around, I get no calls. Monday, don't wanna be a pest and ask about the estimate, I'll give them time to let me know when they're ready ... Tuesday evening Rob calls and gives me my bill because they're done .... "you're done?! You never told me how much the estimated work would be before you got started! "the total comes out to over $2,000 without approval for anything, I'm pissed...who does business like this ?! Taking liberties with clients money without any authorization, they added about 4 extra hours in for some b.s. they say they had to do and they never once called me for anything after that Wednesday, they used the nickel and dime b.s. adding up misc shit scam, they are the very definition of "deceptive trade practice" in hindsight I figure they have a high over head every month and just rip people off at every corner, stay away from these guys total phoney used car salesmen types... also wish I would've read the other yelp reviews before going in there. A shame too, I have several other vehicles to invest work into but I'll stay far away from these scam artists, I suggest you do the same, I'm in a bike club and connected in the high dollar car collectors and car club/ music scene and warning EVERYBODY about these shady ass mfers... huge disappointment... read more

I am building a small over-lander and needed to have a mattress cover altered. I spoke with Angel about what I was looking for and provided the material and foam. The quote seemed reasonable and so was the turn around on the project so I went with it. When I picked the job up I was extremely disappointed, first I was informed that they had to add material to the project(which in my opinion wasn't needed) which meant an up charge on the quote of 32%. The material added to the cover doesn't match the original and the cover was cut and sewn using the foam pattern upside down and so now the zipper that should be on the underside is on the sleeping surface. When I went to pay with my credit card I was informed that there would be a further up-charge for using a credit card. I did not argue or even mention how disappointed I was. I just paid and left. I would not consider having actual auto upholstery work done here if you value how the final product will look. read more

I would give them a zero if this site allowed. Please beware, took a fleet truck to them to fix a blown head gasket, they ended up replacing the entire top end of the engine which cost about 8k. A couple weeks later, we heard a clanking noise. Called them immediately assuming it was a lifter. Jarred the shop Manager said bring it in. Before we were able to get the truck to the Atomic the Timing Belt assembly fell off, the same Timing Belt assembly they took off removing the engine two weeks prior. Of course, they showed me a sheared bolt and then said it was common. I shared my beef and told Jarred that it happened due to their negligence and that it was something they removed and that it was either they did not torque it enough and torque it too much and sheared off. Ended up paying just to get the truck back on the road, another 6k. As I was paying the Owner Bill enters the office and yells across the room," DID YOU GET MY MONEY?" of course Rob behind the desk said yes as Bill approached and asked, "So you guys are always busy?" Like an idiot I said," Yes, we are swamped." In hindsight, I wish I never said that because within 10 miles of leaving Atomic Motors the truck oil pressure sky rocketed along with the temperature and the truck started to loss power. My employee immediately turned on the heater as he exited off the freeway. The temperature went down quickly but the truck still died as he entered the off ramp. As soon as the truck died my employee called me immediately to let me know what happened. Told him to call the Shop Manager Jarred to let him know what just happened. A couple minutes later my employee called me back to let me know Jarred told him to get it towed in and that they would look at in on Monday. Of course, I called Jarred and told him that I still was not convinced that the timing belt assembly falling was not their fault and that I definitely knew whatever was going on with the truck now that it was their fault. To make a long story short, jarred agreed to have the truck towed in. That Monday, I sent that same employee to get a few items out of the truck and see if it had been diagnosed. As my employee arrived, he was told that they were attempting to get the engine to turn over and that they could not and that in the process burnt out the starter. Okay, for those who do not know, if an engine has frozen it will not turn over and if you attempt to crank it over and over you just end up frying the starter. The next day, I sent my employee out again due to not getting a phone from Atomic to see what was going on (second trip mainly from passed experience). As he arrived Bill the Owner told him that they checked the compression and that whatever was going on with the truck was not their fault. Of course, my employee (Atomic not knowing) is my in-house mechanic asks Bill how could you check the compression if you cannot start the truck if the starter is fried. Bill stated, "We hand turned the engine." The following day Rob behind the front desk calls me and tells me that they could not start the engine to diagnose it because the starter was fried, LOL...can you see where this is going. Of course, I immediately laugh and said BS and informed Rob what Jarred said two days prior and what the owner said the previous day. Rob's response was my employee who was just there said he fried the starter by attempting to start he truck after it died on the freeway and that he just admitted to them when he was there the previous day. My response you can imagine was not pleasant, basically told Rob whatever you guys did to the engine it had frozen up and that by attempting over and over again to get the truck started that they burnt up the started and that he would need to buy a starter and that if the truck happens to turn over then I would pay for the starter. The following day I sent my in-house mechanic to lurk, as he arrived the owner Bill approaches him and tells him that they figure it out and that he must of been driving in a construction zone and a brick hit the oil pan and that not to worry that it was covered by insurance. A few days later after not getting a call of this new find I, my in-house mechanic and another employee went to Atomic where the truck sat in their parking lot. As we approached the truck, we noticed that it looked like nothing had been done. The truck was in the exact same place the towed truck dropped it. Immediately I had my in-house mechanic get underneath the truck to look at oil pan the first thing he saw and took picture of was a dent in the oil pan the size of hammer or mallet. As he informed me and took pictures, I asked him to check the cross members due to knowing that it would be impossible for anything to happen as such unless there was damage on the cross beams, no damage. Jarred agreed to cover all labor if I bought parts. Now that the engine is out, they are sending me a bill for labor and parts and not taking responsibility. Beware!!!!! read more

Expect to pay 5 times the quote, yes I said 5 times the quote, and to bring your vehicle back multiple times and still not have it properly run. We were promised the world in the beginning but that changed once the vehicle was completely disassembled. We were unbelievably overcharged but were in so deep we felt we needed to just ride it out. The last time I was charged 800 to fix a brake leak on a new brake system they installed. I drove it home and the brakes gave out for the 3rd time. I have now brought my vehicle to a brake shop to get it repaired. They said it has a hose that's not a brake hose which leaks, a new part which leaks and a leak at the driver rear wheel which I just paid 800 to fix!! The new shop said I really should take it back for warranty work which I appreciated but Atomic doesn't warranty any of their work ever ! I hope I can save someone else from this thieving company. read more

flew up from California with my oldest son and purchased an awesome 66 charger to drive back and have a cool road trip with my kid. first 60 miles was awesome but things started going wrong (partially because of the record 120+heat and the 6 thousand ft elevation on the route i took ) and after 200 miles i let them know i did not want to drive it the rest of the way home and they came all the way to pick us and the car up and bring it back to there shop. i asked them to do a few upgrades while they had it again and they said absolutely and i cant wait to go back and try it out again. folks are very nice and the car was nicer looking in person than in the pictures and i love it !!! read more

I would not trust this place. They told us one thing over the phone and then when the car was towed to their facility they changed all the terms. They were not honest and charged us more when we went to get the car but when they found out I was an attorney they backtracked and reimbursed my card because they said they overcharged us.
