Needing a major cut, I found myself walking into the salon with some anxiety. Having a unique texture of hair, was looking for someone to work with me and be patient as we both went thru the daunting task of cutting it. Walked into the salon was two smiling faces. The owner and Rebecca calmed my nerves immediately and Rebecca invited me to sit in her chair. No need to wait for an appoint, let's get er cut! She joked with me the entire time and was patient, working thru the mess. When it was done, I think we were both relieved. Rebecca was amazing! Looks like I found my next stylist... I came from out of state and this was one of my worst haircuts ever. It was a chop job and my girlfriend had to fix it afterwards. The layering on the sides was the wrong depths and the sides had to be cut much shorter. Around the ears was uneven too. I didn't have time to notice right away because I was rushed out. The whole cut felt very quick and I've gotten way better haircuts for $20. read more

I was getting married in Moab and was told there was very few stylists to choose from in Moab so I chose one. Rebecca did both my hair and makeup. I wasn't in the salon more than one hour and came out looking horrible. My husband said I looked like I would if I was in my casket. The color on my face had a green hue. I took it all off and did it myself. $200 was too much for me to pay to just go home and redo and tweak it. She had the shakes so bad that she couldn't put on my eye makeup effectively. She didn't take off my makeup wore into the salon either, she said she would just go right over the top. I do not recommend for brides! read more

I recently found myself in Moab, UT for the wedding of a very dear friend. The mother of the bride-to-be arranged hair and makeup services for herself, her mother, bridal party and, obviously, the bride. Atomic Hair was incredibly accommodating in that Rebecca (amazing stylist/designer) dedicated her entire Friday to gussy up us girls in time for the big event. The combination of our (loud) group of girls and the excited anticipation of impending nuptials made for lots of noise, movement and all around chaos in this small salon. Rebecca was patient and kept her cool despite our craziness. She inquired as to each girls' style desire and then provided suggestion to highlight individual characteristics. Once hairdos were done, she moved onto makeup. Again, she took each of our differences into consideration and made us up with colors complementary to each of our skin tones, hair color and the like. She listened to hair and makeup wishes, provided recommendations based upon each girls' hair type, facial features, individual style and expertly styled each and every one of us! **The bride, most importantly, looked absolutely stunning! Rebecca created a perfect look for this natural, outdoorsy type beauty. She kept the bride's look simple and minimal while highlighting and complementing her God-given gorgeous features. She looked elegant without looking too done up. Rebecca must have been feeling some stress amidst our frenzy yet she laughed and joked along with us. It was a truly fun experience! In fact, she was so focused on making sure we were happy with our looks while making sure we were on schedule, she neglected the lunch so lovingly brought by her man. Now, I must give props to Robert another stylist/designer at Atomic Hair. Not only did he give us girls free reign of the salon and put up with our girly antics, he also stepped in and helped fix and secure loosening curls of the girls who had their hair done first. What a horrible disappointment! I contacted this salon via e-mail at least one month in advance. I was so pleased at the prompt, efficient, response I received from Robert. Well, that is where it ended..REBECCA DID NOT BOTHER TO SHOW UP FOR MY APPOINTMENT! I had been traveling for four weeks, was on my way to a wedding. My brows were furry and I'm old and can't see to do them myself. Now I know a brow wax and tint doesn't bring in many bucks, but an appointment made a month in advance should be honoured. I left a telephone message regarding the missed appointment and had no response. Robert seemed like a great, mellow, guy...as for Rebecca.....BEWARE OF GETTING THE SHAFT. We travel full time, so getting my hair cut and colored every six weeks or so can be a real crapshoot! I depend on Yelp a lot and make sure to call a week or two in advance to get an appt. Robert answered and set me up with Katy, after asking me a few pertinent questions. She was sweet, funny and friendly but most importantly, knew exactly what I wanted and how to do it. I have been coming out to Moab for the last 10 years. For camping vacations. So you can imagine how dirty myself and my hair can get! My husband likes to take me out to Red Cliffs Lodge and I like to get my hair styled before. I was in Moab UT for an outdoor wedding, and was recommended this salon for hair and make-up. I was skeptical at first, due to the natural vibe of the area, but Rebecca did not disappoint. She was a master craftswoman of the trade and made each of the bridesmaids and bride look amazing. The hair styles were trendy and feminine, while the make-up was flawless and dazzling. She accommodated all of the party and allowed us to have free reign of the shop. She was funny, sweet, and professional, all at the same time. I just wish she lived in San Diego. read more
