Stay away. they ruined my wedding. Total disorganization. The matre d did not follow any instructions that were previously made with the event organizer. My bridal attendant was no where to be found for crucial direction that was needed for the bridal party. They made me lose an hour of reception time because they were so disorganized and confused. They ignored my vision that was discussed many times prior to my wedding. my day was filled with disappointment and anxiety. They did not offer any consolation and did not reprimand any of the staff for the mix up and confusion. A guests car was broken into because of where they valet parked the cars. beware. so many things went wrong on my wedding day because of the staff . look elsewhere to have your wedding. you will wind up in tears- trust me. read more

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this venue. Everything, from the staff to the food, exceeded my expectations. My husband and I worked with Joan and Bryan in the months leading up to the big day, and they were wonderful. Their professionalism and amiability put me at ease, and I can honestly say -- as the bride -- I was never all that stressed during the planning process. I'd also like to give a shout-out to all the staff members who worked our wedding the night-of. My bridal assistant was fantastic, always checking in and asking if my husband or I needed anything. She even got us some extra entrees to take back to the hotel room. Also, towards the end of the night, I noticed my pearl bracelet (an old family heirloom) had broken. My bridesmaids worked with some staff to search the floor, and we ended up finding 5/6 of the missing pearls! The care and conscientiousness of each and every staff member did not go unnoticed, and I definitely recommend Atlantis to anyone getting married on Long Island. Caryn was fantastic to work with, thorough, attentive and responsive. We hammered out the floor plan and the room was set up accurately when I arrived. There was an issue with how close the tables were to the dance floor when I arrived at the venue around 2pm. Lori and Diane, without hesitation, reassured me that it was an easy fix, and they moved the tables to expand the dance floor by about 20%. Lori and Diane couldn't have been more gracious and accommodating the entire night. There was a misunderstanding of the time we had the venue. The contract read 7-10pm, but all of our promotional material said 8-11. When Lori realized this at about 8pm, she worked with your staff to allow us to use the room until 11pm at no additional charge. I can't thank you enough for this. If she hadn't solved this problem, it would have ruined our event. We are so grateful for your generosity. Another issue was that we didn't realize was then when we didn't take the valet package, that the Hyatt parking lot wouldn't be available. Lori worked with us to get the gate open so our aging attendees had ample parking nearby. We had several walk ins that hadn't RSVP'd. Rather than turn them away, Lori and Diane staged and set up another table for us 7 minutes before show time. Lastly, we didn't realize a coat check wasn't included. Again, Lori rose to the occasion and reassigned one of her staff to create a coat check for us. At 10:45, as everyone was clearing out, and breaking down, Lori and Diane were still problem solving, and treating us with kindness. This is an incredible venue, and an even more wonderful staff. We couldn't be happier with the service we received, the look of the room, and the price we negotiated. The venue for a wedding at the Long Island Aquarium was magnificent !! The staff was attentive and did an adequate job. Now onto the food. - the cocktail hour was sub standard. The table that offered the kebobs such as, chicken, shrimp, beef, and scallops was unimpressive picture this, little meat on kebabs with no vegetables all on a little hot plate. Every one i ate was either warm or cold with absolutely no taste!! Normally i would be going back for seconds and thirds. Instead I was praying I wouldn't throw up! The cold area was adequate. The bartending was excellent! The dinner salads was so small that I finished eating my salad in 2 bites. - main course buffet- the white rice that they served was not cooked. Yes not cooked!! Can you believe this? All the gust complained!! Maybe they thought we were going to throwing it at the Bride and Groom? Chicken was cold no taste and flat like a pancake Salmon- had taste but was very small, warm and overlooked. The short ribs was the only serving that had some taste to it. It was on par with an order at the Olive Garden. The best part of the meal was the ice cream bar. More Guests enjoyed that then the entrees! I had my wedding here on 03/24/2018. It was absolutely AMAZING. Everything from the food, to the decor, to the staff was beyond excellent. I keep getting phone calls, texts, and messages telling me that this was the best wedding they have ever been to and that the venue was absolute amazing and it was the best wedding food they have ever had. Caryn, Lori, Diane, and Zach were exceptional. I could not have asked for a better team to help me through the day, they are truly a wonderful and special group of staff. Horrible. was supposed to have my wedding there April 2021 and canceled due to COVID restrictions and still wants me and my fiance to pay an outrageously expensive cancellation fee and won't give any refund because they claim they can provide everything that we signed for on our contract a year before COVID was even a thing. not true at all.. they can't provide us with anything that we signed for. read more

My best friend and soon to be sister in law Michelle and I had so much fun last night at the bridal showcase & expo. It was the best showcase I have ever been to and everything was executed so perfectly. I felt as if I were walking into my own wedding as a guest and seeing how everything would happen step by step and from all vendors. Everyone did such an amazing job, and I'm even more excited than I was before. They started in the grand marble Lobby with champagne and strawberries and a coat check, and we made our way upstairs to the sea star ball room where there was passing hors devours, nobody was rushed through at all. In the ball room they had vendors and a show from absolute entertainment with music and lights, giving entrance examples for the big day. After that everyone gradually made their way to the aquarium side where that had multiple food tastings such as and again buffet and chicken and waffles. Even cupcakes from the rolling pin bakery that were incredible. Not to mention the giveaways I Also didn't expect for that much food to be there. Every other showcase I've been to had a small basic buffet that hardly fed everyone, but the Executive Chef, Sean and his team really did go above and beyond. I'm so happy to have worked for such an amazing company that shows finesse, and love in what they do. And a big thank you to Lori for taking the time in showing us the bridal suites and answering any questions, keeping us at ease and stress free. I had my wedding on Setember 2, 2017. My husband and I could not be happier with how the entire wedding went! Danny, Beryl, Lori, Jayme, and the entire catering staff truly made our wedding day the best day of our lives! We had our ceremony in the seastar lobby, cocktail hour in the aquarium, and reception in the seastar ballroom. We had over 200 guests and everyone fit comfortably in every area of the party. Our guests can't stop raving about how cool and different it was to be among all of the fish and animals during cocktail hour! Not only was the ambiance amazing, the food was exceptional! The bacon bar was a hit! The reception was beautiful and the food did not disappoint. My husband and I sampled the steak, pork, and chicken and all were cooked to perfection! Jayme was an outstanding bridal attendant and went above and beyond to make every second of the wedding perfect. If anything did go wrong, my husband and I had no idea! Everyone in the staff was professional and kind and treated not only our families like they were their own, but also all of our guests! We also had an after party where the food was unbelievable as well! The venue is breathtaking and our pictures came out beautiful because of it. Throughout the entire wedding process from the minute we booked the wedding up until the day of, the sales team and catering staff answered all of my questions and gave great advice to make the day special. I will begin my review but advising I am in the industry & have been for 15+ years & that I had made this known to all parties prior to & on the day of our event. (wedding planner) I can now officially say I have been on both sides of the experience. I knew going into this that not everything would go according to plan & that expectations of "perfection" were far from reality & of course took as many measures as humanly possible in hopes to avoid those most commonly known. However knowing what I know & expectation I hold my myself & my team to as "the bride" I was extremely disappointed & disheartened with how my husband & I were treated on our 08-18-18 wedding day. There are several factors that have resulted in my rating. I will only name a few: Instructions were neglected (something as simple as not placing supplied pens with our scrapbook resulted in no notes from our guests) Bustled my own gown as the BA did not know how & our bridal party had already joined cocktail. Matire 'D & BA were M-I-A leaving our photographers & party to navigate the Aquarium & attempt to manage where to go for our images with the animals it was a lovely little guessing game. Just before the ceremony we walked in circles trying to find where the bridal suite was within the Aquarium as we had never been shown where it was located. Not once did anyone on staff pop their heads in to check if we were okay if we needed anything prior to the ceremony perhaps we left something at the hotel needed hairspray, a bobby pin,or even a DRINK of water? The Atlantis team was so far behind with prepping the reception area that cocktail hour went over by 30 mins which means everything else would now be rushed. (Knowing this is a pitfall of being in the industry) We were 70 mins late before we even started the toast. It's not as though everything was set up outside & a huge gray cloud came out of nowhere I was advised at NOON everything would be moved & adjusted... (Hmm... we can't be the first wedding ever here... or the first time it's rained... can we?) I asked the BA "Can I please have a drink!?" That was the first & last I would see all night as not once was the groom or I checked on asked if we were OK or offered another beverage. The 2 bottles of Jameson we paid $66+ per bottle for as it was not included in any of the bar packages, & Atlantis wasn't flexible with swapping or throwing 1 in for the groom were "gone". In the event it did exist you'd think you'd see the bottle going down & place it to the side for the groom?No..Just me? Evidently we had a room captain? We met him once at the end of the night when everyone was looking for their envelopes which yes we still gave out undeservingly so even to spite standing within earshot of our bridal attendant speaking to our DJ (good friend & business partner) & hearing her say & I quote "This entire event has been a S#%* Show!" Ahh... Why yes little one it has been... Thank you & your colleagues for that. I will say although the Aquarium was aesthetically magnificent & the remainder of staff was attentive & did an adequate job (Waiter from Table 12 telling our family they were better off getting their own drinks from the bar as you were far too busy I didn't forget about you) I will say our guest had a wonderful time raved about the food & enjoyed a unique wedding venue experience & although the groom & I were not treated in the manner in which we had hoped our items were returned back to us unwrapped broken & without care we too had a lovely wedding day. read more

Absolutely horrible and it gets worse every, single time I go. I was there today for a function, which had MAYBE 60-75 people and they couldn't keep up with the flow of the dining room (and it was even a buffet style lunch). I've worked in catering and the restaurant industry for many years and never have I seen such sloppy service. We were the table in the middle of the room and were repeatedly ignored throughout the function. We had to get up several times to ask for things such as refills on water. While setting up for dessert, they specifically asked us if we wanted coffee, then proceeded to give each person a coffee cup who said they wanted some, then NEVER came around with coffee!! We watched as other guests were offered SECONDS of everything, while we had STILL not gotten served!!! We AGAIN had to get up and ASK for coffee. When they finally came over with the coffee, I asked for creamer or half-n-half and was told they don't have any. I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe that one of the east ends largest caterers has ZERO cream or half-n-half. Something so silly and small like that goes a lonngggg way! It's not an expensive item! If you're out of it, then send a staff member out to buy some!! Also, the chairs were almost unbearable to sit in. They had cushions on the seat, but metal crosshatching for the back. I need a chiropractor after sitting on those things through the luncheon!! The food has never been that good through the years either. If I could've given no stars, I would have. Don't waste your money, unless mediocrity is your thing! read more

Had the best Saturday night Bnai Mitzvah (Twin Bar/Bat Mitzvah) party for family and kids , 270 guest and the place was truly fantastic! We booked this party without having had gone to one there before because this has been our family outing place since the children were little, there was no other choice. We bused the kids from Merrick which they loved, it took an hour but zero traffic on a rainy Sat. night. I was truly impressed when they had a tent set up in the entrance and handed out the champagne and Smoothies to the kids. The kids were excited to experience something different than a catering hall, from cocktail hour up in the Shark tank area- to the buffet cotton candy and dessert in the sting ray area (they even were allowed to pet them!) they really loved it! My daughter wanted to Lounged up the dance area with Cabanas and couches to give it a party touch, which made the place very kid friendly. My son's surprise Shark Dive during cocktail hour really blew up on social media! The Catering Is top notch, people loved the seafood specialities such as Muscles, Scallops with the bacon wrapped around it! and Red Snapper for a choice of fish, the chef added crabmeat on top which many complimented. I was too busy to eat, but I heard good things! The catering Manager and his team were very flexible and easy to work with, I guess they deal with a ton of brides, but I have to say they were extremely accommodating. We had many guests sleep over at the Hyatt next door, Riverhead town is built up nicely and this Aquarium is amazing. Perfect party!
