Horrible client experience. Asked for a refill prescription on Monday, and its Friday....still waiting. This is low hanging fruit, how hard is it to sign a script? They act like they're inconvenienced, when it's their job. Also, please don't allow sick employees to come in & cough all over the reception area. It's unhealthy for the rest of your staff & your clients. Do better. read more

Update to my previous post and I am very disappointed. I found out my cat has tooth resorpation, which is extremely painful and wasn't caught in the visits. It was noted that my cat had lost a big tooth plus some smaller ones and I was made to feel it wasn't a big deal since he is an older cat. No further questions asked or any suggestions made. Now I know my poor cat has been suffering in silence for years with progressive tooth root loss. Also my fault for not seeking a second opinion until now. read more

Dr Erin was absolutely amazing! My poor little dog went to a different vet 3 times for significant pain. Dr Erin was able to quickly find it and treat it. The best part is that she got on the floor with my sweet boy to ease his doggy anxiety (he hates going to the vet.) Insensitive (larger) front desk girl, very indifferent to a grieving family dropping off our recently passed dog. Seemed like she didn't want to answer any questions, like we were troubling to her. For a family verging tears, she was smirking and couldn't read a room if she had binoculars. Furthermore, don't come here to drop off your recently passed pets, or any service. They didn't even bring out the stretcher for a dead dog. Astoundingly depressing staff that needs to work on empathy, as you do represent your company. read more

Super glad we found this place (thanks neighbors!). Everyone has been so helpful and kind. We have had our dog and one of our cats in for a visit, and have been pleased with their level of caring. Today was a visit for our kitty Sebastian, who was having issues with peeing outside the box. We had a visit with Dr. John, who was friendly and very thorough in his exam and explanations of what we need to do to ensure Sebastian is ok. The office is clean and the front office staff works as quickly as they can to get everyone checked in, checked out, and in their way. Love Dr Herb. My rabbit tweaked his back in a freak accident so I took him in for a quick checkup. The office staff was able to get me in within a couple hours after the accident. When I felt like he was getting worse, I rushed him in and they took me back immediately before my appointment time. Dr Herb sat on the floor with me while we talked through what happened and a suggested care plan. When he confirmed that he'd just pulled his back and prescribed bed rest and some bunny pain meds, he moved on to talk about how much he loved my bunny's name (Ted Bunny, yes I love true crime) and how it was one of the best pet names he'd heard in his career. Turns out he also likes true crime so we talked about that for awhile. Ted Bunny has made a full recovery and I've found a new rabbit vet. Thank you, Dr Herb! read more

1 star only because I have too. My puppy got vaccinated had dhpp leptospirosis rabies and bordetella. Six vaccines! Well of course she had an allergic reaction! Angioedema. Not supposed to give that many shots at once. Now she's having diarrhea on day 2. We requested to see Dr. Herb who is fine not sure how we got ambushed by this unprofessional vet wearing flip flops! It's illegal per OSHA. Not to mention she was doing a cat enema and I definitely would want foot protection! This vet Dr. Ouellette didn't ask us anything came in very fast obviously in a rush said we are doing a stool test for worms and tick blood test and checking for heart worm even though they are on prevention. Both dogs get dewormed once a year because the o+p test is only 40% accurate my dog still had worms and symptoms after I initially dewormed her and the test was negative. This vet told us they need all these vaccines but dhpp she only needed at the 3 year mark and she said since it was mixed with leptospirosis she needed it. (Not true) so $525 later what a joke we didn't need $350 worth of tests and unnecessary vaccines . Plus the puppy had her yearly exam 2 months ago and Dr. Herb said just come back for her vaccinations and she doesn't need a repeat $62 exam fee! The check in lady was very rude as well! Time to find a new job. Sorry Dr. Herb because you were nice. Unfortunately now in the future I have to premedicate my dog or not get the vaccines anymore as I don't want her to die from anaphylaxis. read more

Beware dog lovers! On 09/27 we took are dog Maggy into Atlantic Veterinary Hospital (Jacksonville) to be spayed. I personally filled out the form stating what procedure and care was to be given. When we went pickup the Maggy the bill was almost $700.00. We ask what happened as the quoted about was $385.00 and we were told that "Oh we noticed our records showed that she was due for vaccinations" So the gave here several vaccinations without ask us. Maggy had already had the vaccinations at the mobile vet. We did not authorize Atlantic do give these vacations. This turned in a huge issue with the office manager. Who forced my wife to produce a credit card before we could even see our Maggy. So, after lots of discussion (vet was not available) they took off the vaccines cost. (The cost wasn't the point) They would not let me see or look at my baby until they had a credit card (basically held my little girl hostage). They threw Maggy's records (less the records of that day) at me and I looked and ask them where the list of vaccines she received so I would have a record of what the dog was given. They refused to give me anything or a receipt. So, they finally they brought Maggy out and ripped off the collar and gave her to me. They refused to give any post surgical care information or even the pain medication. I ask again "Where were her pain meds, they told me she isn't getting any. " Atlantic handed me my dog who just had surgery and refuse to give me pain medication or post surgical care information and said, "Get out and never come back" We cannot believe that a vet could be so cruel and inhumane! We could have cared less about the money; it was the treatment of my baby. We took Maggy to Kings Trail veterinary office the next morning. They called Atlantic to see if they could find out what shots Maggy had received and Atlantic refused to tell Kings Trail anything. Kings Trail told us the stiches needed to be removed in 10 day and provide Maggy with the needed pain meds. THIS IS CRULTY TO ANIMALS - Atlantic needs their license pulled and to be shut down before they hurt and more innocent animals. read more

My father recently brought my dog to this veterinary in hopes to treat his recurrent hot spots. First of all, the doctor would not see me in person and would only provide me with a phone call and was very short with her explanations; she was not personable at all and seemed not to care. I began to notice my dog was starting to get another hot spot but it had not yet developed- I quickly put the cone on his head and made an appointment for him to get seen. The hot spot had not yet developed nor was it raw since I caught it soon and kept the cone on him. Once I dropped him off at the vet, I was called 8 hours later to pick him up. The doctor informed me that my dog has flees and that was the cause of his irritation. My dog's hair is completely shaved and he has not had flees if not ever. I brought my dog in for recurrent hot spots, which I was hoping to find out why this is happening so he can be treated accordingly. I am positive my dog does not have fleas - and I am so sorry I wasted my time and finances at this vet. In addition, to make matters worse, my dogs hot spot was increasingly worse after I picked him up from spending 8 hours at the vet. I am beyond lost at what to do at this point and would recommend anyone seeking health care for their pet to NOT be treated by Erin Ouellette. read more

We have been going here for a year now and have always had the best experience. I have been behind on appointments and they easily rescheduled. Sherlock had an allergic reaction to new food and they were able to add a hysterical dog mother on to the schedule as I was driving there. I really appreciated how the lead veterinarian was very open to answering my questions. While I'm not going to go into great detail, the communication issue has been fairly consistent. Calls to them go unanswered. Dr. John and Dr. Herb are fantastic! They are amazing with my Sugar! If she is sick or on a new medication they will call even on the weekend to check on her. I can't recommend this office enough! My, wife has used Atlantic for her horses. They provide excellent care for her horses. We had an issue, with our rescue dog. they fit us in the same day, love this place. As a lot of us, she is getting older, and slowing down some. They did blood work, came back good. She may be dealing, with some arthritis. They gave us medication for her pain. I was seeking a large animal vet to replace my last large animals vet when they sold out to a large vet service. I called Atlantic Vet based on a referral. Wow....why would anyone take this kind of over prideful attitude from a vet? I tried for over a month to get an appointment, I had to push the snotty ambiguous vague receptionist that displayed an air of hubris beyond the norm when speaking to me. Treating me as if I were stupid or didn't understand English and didn't have a grasp of horse ownership....Really, I thought to myself, but continued because I needed vet care. Sadly, I had to prod with multiple calls and requests to get an appointment commitment from her to have a vet come out and care for my 4 horses, and BTW I was willing to pay an additional fee for travel time, Coggins, shots, teeth floating and shipping papers. What I got was nothing but a bunch of bunk. The receptionist finally confirmed an appointment after I had to pin her to an actual time and date and the day they were to arrive to do the work....THEY CANCELLED without a single phone call except on the day of arrival. She insisted that "we called you multiple times," however, my phone never picked up the number, hence, I wasn't called at all. Suffice to say after another uncomfortable combative conversation we rescheduled. Well, she was so put off when I had to cancel the second appointment based on a torrential rain fall that would have left the vet standing in 3-4 inches of standing water on the farm to do the work on 4 horses. I thought it best to cancel. I didn't want my horses being drugged or getting multiple shots under such harsh conditions -- I call that good husbandry, she thought I was awful for asking to reschedule. Great....Here we go again.....Receptionist met this with nasty attitude. Her attitude was "how dare I change the appointment." Well today was the icing on the cake! I called again to reschedule and was met such an attitude of arrogance I simply couldn't handle it again. She was going out of her way for me...No, she hated speaking with me because I held her feet to the fire and had to push for good vet care. I told her "How dare you treat customers with such contempt. Customers that are willing to pay, but have to endure lies about availability and an awful attitude of disrespect for a customer." Well, I'm sick to death of businesses and corporations that don't have a clue that we keep them in business. Good luck. I hope you can revive your awful attitude and change it to gratitude?? (I doubt that she's been working their too long--that's the problem). I know I never want to work that hard to get an appointment from a "gatekeeper" to have my horses looked at. Get this Patty....My horses are worth than your annual payroll. How dare you disrespect me and my animals for your unhappy life situation. You're awful and why people tolerate this behavior is beyond me. read more
