I had just about given up on finding a good dental office as well as a good dentist in that office. Over the last 15 years, I've done lots of research and read an enormous amount of reviews. I was always amazed at how poorly those offices were. From front desk, to the Technicians and Dentist I couldn't seem to find an office that I felt comfortable with and that could actually do the work proficiently! THEN BY GOOD FORTUNE I CAME TO ATLANTIC FLORIDA DENTAL AND DR. LAPIN IN DANIA BEACH. From the moment I walked in I felt a calm and relaxed atmosphere. From Lisa at the front desk, who is special, to the Technicians and other dentists everything felt right! I can't explain it! But, after seeing Dr Lapin and going over my immediate needs that had to be addressed I never felt pressured or rushed into doing anything. Dr Lapin took the time to explain everything to me so I could feel like I was making a good informed decision instead of being forced into one. Because I'm on certain medications and potentially having to go on another in the near future I definitely needed certain Invasive Procedures done. I needed a root canal, an extraction of a molar because the tooth broke in pieces from an old filling. The tooth just failed. I also needed a crown. Since root canals are so specialized they sent me to an Endodontist in Davie. Endodontist Associates of Broward. I was apprehensive at first, but again when I entered the office I felt that same calm, relaxed atmosphere. Again, from the front desk to the Technicians and the Dentist, Dr Selman I received the same treatment as I did from Atlantic Florida Dental. He performed the root canal advising me that it was questionable if the tooth could be saved, but after his treatment and a return visit a week later the tooth was fine. He did such a great job that when I returned to Dr Lapin it didn't require a new crown. Dr Lapin did the buildup and permanent filing and prepared another tooth for a crown, that they actually have the equipment and Technician to make in office within the hour. When I came back the new crown fit perfectly!!!! Since I only required one crown instead of 2, because Dr Lapin sent me to Dr Selman I had some extra money to have some cosmetic work done. HOW INCREDIBLE IS THAT! I'm still amazed at the whole process! Everything I had done was done, from start to finish, in 9 days. If they didn't make the permanent crowns in the office I would have had to wait 2 weeks for it to be sent to an outside lab to be made. In the meantime I would have had to wear a temporary crown until the outside lab finished the crown, and from previous experience, they didn't come back and fit properly. THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH WORDS FOR ME TO EXPLAIN HOW DEEPLY GRATEFUL I AM TO DR. LAPIN AND ALL THE STAFF AT ATLANTIC FLORIDA DENTAL!!! "I am posting this to warn the local community about the severe dental ,medical complications I experienced after receiving an upper front dental bridge (teeth 7-10) from Dr. Artem Lapin at Atlantic Florida Dental on May 1st. Furthermore, Dr. Lapin never even showed me the final bridge after permanently cementing it into my mouth before I left. It wasn't until I went to a completely different dental office for a routine cleaning and X-rays that another dentist examined me and discovered all the severe issues hidden underneath. The bridge work was deeply compromised--leaving a completely loose, uneven theeth,a botched bridge a mobile structure and a jagged piece of excess dental cement trapped under my gums,.My gums has been inflamed and got worse after the final bridge.This entire experience has left me dealing with an overwhelming amount of anxiety and feeling completely ashamed of my smile. The complications became so severe that they resulted in an emergency room visit and a need for an excessive amount of prescription pills just to manage the resulting pain and infection. The structural damage to my front teeth, gums, and underlying bone was so complex that I have been seeing 4 separate treatment plans from different dental practices and specialists just to figure out how to safely repair my mouth. Independent specialist evaluations have confirmed an open, leaking margin under the prosthetic, leaving me facing a reconstruction bill between $9,899 and $15,250 out of pocket to pay for multi-site bone grafting and implant revisions to stabilize teeth 7 through 10. Because of the severe lack of care and the extensive structural damage caused, I refuse to ever step foot back in this practice. Please protect your health and get a second opinion before committing to major restorative work here." The all experience started in August 2025 and end May 1 2026 . Everything was a nightmare to deal with since the beginning with the office manager Lisa , change of treatment , extraction of a tooth that wasn't in initial plan ,and all the above . Also be aware that they don't do digital dental records release only print so I asked what happens if I m in a different country and having an emergency.I got no response.After my request as emergency it took them almost 2 months,I also had to send certified letter to be able to get them .I paid $55 for 23 pages.only from Atlantic dental so more than $2,00 per page ,all other dentist office was able to email me any dental records request free ,no problem at all . After my over $6000 estimate bill they didn't even call me back to provide me with my X-ray after I left voicemail several times because they didn't pick up the phone. I arrived to the area in need of a new crown and an implant! I am a sailor and Covid had kept me from my regular dentist abroad. On the recommendation of a friend, I rang Atlantic Florida Dental. I was scheduled in straight away. They specialize in implants. And, they get it done! My first visit, they took full x-rays, checked out the implant location & measured for my crown (no plaster needed these days!). I had a crown put in a few years back. A week later, I went back as I had pain in the crown area. Dr. Weisbrot took x-rays and said everything looked fine, so I left. Shortly after that my insurance notified me that Atlantic Florida was no longer in my dental network. So after finding a new dentist and having x-rays taken, as is standard practice, he asked me if I was having pain in the crown area that I went back to Atlantic dental for. I said yes, off and on for years. He said there was a "pocket" in there where bacteria was collecting, causing the pain. So now I have to go through all the additional expense and time to have this crown replaced. If Atlantic Florida had been more thorough when I went back to complain, I would not be in this situation. read more

Dr. Meskin goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and informed and after getting quotes from multiple offices they were BY FAR the most reasonably priced in FL. He really loves what he does and the techs and front office staff are all so wonderful. He completely transformed my entire smile and replaced 16 terrible veneers I had done 10+ years ago and I can't believe how much better they look now that I went to a high quality dentist. I do not recommend Dr. Meskin on my First visit drilled down teeth 2 front teeth indicating that they will hold a Permanent Bridge. He pulled Teeth 2 Teeth indicating infection and that they could not be restored or Built-up.This was my First error returning to your office.The previous dentist that I left beforehand did advise Root canals and a Build up to restore the 2 teeth.Dr.Meskin advised that the Dentist was not appropriate and that I should go get my money back.How I wish I would of went back to the previous dentist and stayed there. On my next visit to Dr.Meskin he then informed me that those teeth were grinded down too small and not big enough to hold any Bridge and that they should be pulled. This experience was emotionally and physically damaging and uncalled for.As a Dentist,Dr.Meskin should of given me more options to keep my existing teeth.After my visit of having 4 Teeth pulled,he informed me that I have to wait for my gums to heal to have any Temporary bridge or covering on. I went without a Temporary for 3+ months with constant calls but no Bridge. Going without teeth that were visible to the public was not only embarrasing,depressing and a huge hit to my self esteem. If I was a Secretary, I probably wouldn't of had a job.I walked out of your office a few times and Truly don't know why I returned. I received my Temporary finally after a while and decided to not have my Teeth drilled down and Crowned. I complained on one of those teeth needing a Filling and Dr.Meskin advised that it wont get worse and its ok.I had to push the issue a little to receive my Filling. I've been to another Dentist since all this distress and there was no call for Crowns.I received a Filling and now I'm questioning if there really was a huge infection and if my front 4 teeth could of been saved. Excruciating PAIN-they needed another dentist (specialist) to tell them what to do-remove it, they couldn't figure it out. I had to switch from my amazing dentist to Atlantic Florida dental because of insurance change- unfortunately I was welcomed by the least customer service oriented person (gisele), she moved my appointment an hour later to then have me wait over 30 min to get an exam. When I asked how long the wait was she looked at me and asked if I just wanted to reschedule. As a first time patient I was never asked for my information until I offered it to her. No one apologized for the delay, the assistant was just as aloof and the doctor lacked manners. No one wants to spend their day off waiting to be seen. I've had several implants and cleanings. The crowns were crooked which I had to have fixed and the billings did not reflect my dental insurance plan which they claim to have accepted. My wife went in there while we were in Fort Lauderdale, to have a crown that fell off put back on. She was quoted $95-125 to do it. When she sat down, they insisted on doing an xray. She told them that she didn't need it. They insisted. The dentist then asked when she was leaving town and she told him tomorrow. He said "so I won't be able to have any follow up appointments with you?". She said no because she didn't live in the area. The dentist then said "sorry I can't help you" and then walked out! The dentist Dr. Salvatore Melita kept saying how good my dental plan (Solstice) was making me believe I was covered. Turns out though that not every dentist within the practice is covered by my dental plan. How am I to know to ask individual dentists if they are independent contractors? This should have been explained to me. Now I've paid them $500 and they want another $625 , etc., to obtain my partial denture. It is fraudulent to do this to me. Especially in light that other dental practices will pay for the partial denture. I'll have to eat the $500 and consider if I have legal recourse. read more

I've been a client here for several years. I used to have the utmost respect for Dr. Meskin. However, something has changed in the past year. It seems that they are only focused on money, and not the patient. They are an implant shop...no matter what the problem is, an implant is the answer (since that's big bucks). We are no more than potential money with teeth. They've totally botched my implant work. In my last visit, they tried to remove the temporary tooth they installed, but found they had applied too much adhesive. When Dr. Meskin tried to grab the tooth, he instead clamped down on both my gum and the roof of my mouth, causing me to scream out in pain. My wife told him to be gentle with me, and he took so much offense to that remark, he told her to do the work herself and left the office. What an unprofessional chicken shit move. Good luck with these people. Go there at your own risk. Even if you simply need a cleaning, they'll find a way to pad the bill. read more

10/5/2019Updated review The worst experience I have ever had in my life. They destroyed all of my teeth. Charged me $7.900.00 thousand dollars. I stopped my treatment in the middle, because I could not eat with those crowns that they installed. Now it is costing me tens of thousands of dollars to fix the problem. When I tried to get the remaining money for the job that they haven't completed, they refuse to give the money back for the work that was not performed. The Dentist Dr, H.Goodman told me that if tried to complain or sue him, he will cause me a big criminal trial and stated that he is a lawyer too. For the people that come in from insurance for a free cleaning or a check-up. They don't ask you and start doing expensive procedures that the insurance doesn't cover, like panoramic x-rays and ct scans. And then when you don't want to do the treatment that they offer they charge you hundreds of dollars for those x-rays and the things that they did. My wife paid $485 dollars for treatment plan because she did not want to do the work that they told her to do. When she asked them for the disk that contained the x-ray's to take to another dentist they gave her a disk that did not work. (which she paid for) I would not recommend anyone to go to this office. If you like to save your health and money, Do NOT go to this office. For more reviews and complaints you can go to Better Business Bureau. read more

Within five minutes of sitting in the chair I received a rendition about deaths in his family and a host of other personal information I did not need to know and that I did not ask for. I went to see schopler 3 years ago for a dental implant that required a 4 month process of bone graphing with multiple check ups on progress on the bone... everyone of these visits i never saw schopler... i wound up in multiple strange dentists chair who didnt know what was going on with me and seemed confused why i was in their chair.. if that wasnt bad enough, one of these times i was being preped for a bridge.. i asked what was going on, i said i wasnt there for a bridge just a check up on my bone graph. If that wasnt bad enough.. 2 years after the implant was placed, it broke eating a piece of chicken... $3200. And not only will they not honor their work but they dont even offer a discount... I have been coming here since June and there have been some changes in the almost 2 months that I began making appointments here. The addition of Dr. Weisbrot to the staff is one of the best things that could have happened to me, and I am sure will be for many more of the patients here. He is kind, empathetic and gentle, and I am very comfortable with him. Depending on your past experiences and your needs, finding a new dentist can be a very traumatic experience, and with him I felt good from the very beginning. He listens and understands. This review is for the 'so-called' doctor Thomas A. Schopler. His work ethic is the most horrid I've even encountered and it's a scam. This office did a huge procedure on me - an implant without providing enough information and when I went back with a problem that my implant started moving, they sent me on my way telling me it wasn't their problem. But of course, another Florida scam - all they wanted was to 'steal' my money and never care about their patients. This is a horrible medical practice; STAY AWAY!!!!! And to top it all off, the front-desk receptionist Lisa is the worst you could imagine. She NEVER EVER Calls back and lied to me since day one and gave me the run-around even for the simplest thing as providing X-RAYS I paid for in CASH!!! I was scheduled to have a crown but there was not enough tooth left to have it done. I had prepaid for this procedure so I wondered if I would get my money back. I was upset that I could not get the crown and left the office. I returned a week later and Dr Mesnik greeted me and explained his next course of action. I haven't been to the dentist in over theee years because I've never had good experiences. After my tooth pain became unbearable I went to Atlantic Florida Dental to have it looked at. Turns out I needed a root canal and crown which needed to be done over a total of 4 appointments. A very comprehensive procedure. You never know who you can trust with such serious dental work but after my experience with Dr. Melita at Atlantic Florida Dental I will never go to a different dentist. He was very thorough, which I love. He took almost a dozen x-rays whilst doing the root canal part to make sure he got everything just right. Nothing but incredible accolades to say about the entire experience with this practice and the staff, and I have interacted with them all! I have been looking to have a front tooth dental implant due to an injury I sustained many years ago.. I have spoken with countless dental offices and been on numerous consultations. I was deluged with so many trumped up explanations of how complex this was going to be and the quotes I received from most were beyond comprehension. So many bait and switch tactics to get you in and then find out out it's double the original quote.. I have a medical background myself, and I knew I still needed continue my search. I stumbled onto this office by coincidence, and made the call.. I immediately felt a difference.. I liked what I heard and went in in a few days for a free evaluation.. I met Dr. Schopler and his staff.. Super nice.. He reviewed my case and clearly outlined his review, and explained that it was really a very simple procedure, and virtually all the additional procedures and expenses that every other office told me would be required were not necessary.. I was quoted a price for the implant that was one of the best in town, but more importantly, I was impressed by his knowledge and the professionalism of his staff. I Scheduled the procedure to be completed.. They got me right within a few days.. The staff was like a well oiled machine during my procedure. Everyone was aware, and knew exactly what to do.. Within about an hour, it was in... I was simply amazed how quick and simple it was... My temp looks better than the original.. He did everything in house.. And as promised.. I have had several follow up visits in the last few weeks. They take me in quickly, and The staff is always great and work together extremely well... I see some negative reviews on here, but all are about insurance issues, and having nothing to do with the capabilities of this dental office as it pertains to excellence of the practice of dentistry.. This review does not reflect on Dr Schopler,whom I never met and is the owner/founder of the office. I was unfortunate to be assigned to a Dr Goodman, after I had seen Dr Mellita 6 months earlier and he was much better. Dr Goodman does not know the words please and thank you. In the process of giving me a local block for my lower molar that needed a crown,while saying "this is a difficult block" and after giving me 5 shots, a felt a severe pain and was told that was normal. Two and 1/2 days later I develloped this severe Trismus(lock jaw) and on my next visit to him the only reassurance/explanation or treatment I was given is that this is normal. I am a surgeon and after researching the oral surgery literature on Trismus after dental procedures I discovered this is iatrogenic, due to poor technique by the dentist,who injected the anesthesia inside the Medial Pterygoid muscle causing irritation and hematoma. The treatment needs to be started right away to avoid scarring and fibrosis inside the muscle with subsequent chronic Trismus and a mouth that is painful and does not open to the normal 35-45 mm size. Mine opens 20 mm right now. Phone calls went unanswered as their phone is always busy. The treatment consists of moist heat to the outside of the mouth,rinses with warm water and salt, anti inflammatory drugs,muscle relaxers,myofascial release trhough massaging the Pterygoid muscle and passive stretching with exercises for the jaw. All this I found in the Internet myself and hope to get better. Dr Schopler helped me get my crown done and applied the same day and I'm thankful for that(Goodman said it would take 2 weeks) because I was going out of town in 1 week.
