I discovered Atlantic Coastal Welding quite by accident while researching where I could have a new aluminum fuel tank for my boat custom made and shipped to me in Hawaii. Dealing with them was super easy and they answered all my questions on the build, and suggested items necessary for the installation that I hadn't even thought about. After submitting a sketch, they provided a drawing for my approval and they built and shipped the tank to me by air freight. The costs were quite reasonable for the tank and the installation supplies. They sprayed the tank with a protective coating and packed it well. so it arrived undamaged and in time for summer fishing adventures. read more

Recently I purchased a boat with a bad fuel tank. Before cutting the tank out of the boat I spoke with John who assisted me the whole way from troubleshooting to install suggestions. The staff is extremely friendly, the tank that was made looked great, fit flawlessly and was completed in a reasonable time. I am a boat restorer that recently hired this company to clean out and update a pair of aluminum marine fuel tanks. After describing the problem and confirming the price via phone (I am 70 miles away) along with what needed to be done, I dropped the tanks off on a Saturday. They were very cordial on the phone, and sounded like a top notch company. The tanks were supposed to be done that Friday. On Wednesday I got a call that they weren't willing to do the job anymore because the tanks were "too dirty", and recommended I find a radiator shop instead. I asked if they would handle that as I was 70 miles away, and there was still work for them to do, and complete the job as agreed. They agreed to "make a few calls" and handle it. The following Tuesday I still had heard nothing, so I called them. I was again told they would not be fulfilling their obligation to me after wasting another week of my time. From what I have seen, this company is incapable of problem solving, and has no ethical foundation to see through an obligation to clients. I did not so much as recieve an apology, and found my tanks sitting outside in a pile of trash and pallets when I arrived, partially open to the atmosphere and rain. read more

If you are looking to have a Tank built, do not use these guys. I had a tank made from Atlantic coastal welding or Speedytanks.com and had to bring it to another welder to have it repaired. I supplied "John" with every picture and measurement that they asked for to complete the job so I thought. I fully explained the make, model, year, and layout of the boat. I received the tank with the pick up or supply welded to the front of the tank with just a single pick up tube that went straight to the bottom of the tank. Well what is wrong with that you ask? The Tank is 60" long. The pick up was welded 23 " from the front of the tank. Now a boat naturally sits stern heavy, with that being said when the fuel in the tank is less then half full it will be contained in the rear most part of the tank. There is no way that the pick up that Speedytanks welded on the front of the tank will ever see fuel unless the tank is always full. Now, I call them. I speak to "John" explain to him exactly that and ask him John am I right? he says "Yes that sounds about right hold on let me get someone for you". So I explain the story again. Now no one wants to say that they made a mistake but they continue to tell me to bring it in and they will fix it or just ship it down and we'll fix it. I live 3 hours away so let me load up the tank, put $50 in gas in the truck, grab the EZPASS for the $30 in tolls and I should be on my way. Or Let me call the shipping company for $174.98 to ship it one way... I think not. So after all said and done Atlantic Coastal made me a very sharp looking non functioning tank for $689.00 + all the hoses, sender, and neoprene strips I bought from them came out to around $978.00. I hope my review of this company saves someone the stress, headache that Speedytanks.com has caused me. read more
