A true intimate and intentional experience…read more We arrived 5 minutes early for our dining experience on a Friday at 6pm. We were instantly warmly greeted by the owner, Alex, who gave us complimentary bubbles to start the evening off right and sat us in the waiting area. Atlanta traffic is crazy so expect for your other guests to arrive at various times but things got started by 6:15pm once everyone arrived. Once we were let in, we found our seats with name cards at the chef's table. That gave it such a personal touch. We ordered the full 5-course menu with the wine pairings for each course. We loved it all. I'm pescatarian and they checked in with us prior to arrival to capture our names and dietary restrictions. They were careful to make the same dishes for me but just substituting the protein based on my dietary restrictions. I'd say this is vegetarian-friendly as well if you request it. All food is made and drinks are poured right in front of you. In addition to the main menu they have additional offerings like glasses of wine, raw and baked oysters and an intermezzo (a sweet and savory treat between the fourth and fifth courses). All the staff are quite welcoming and knowledgeable. The chef comes to your table and explains the ingredients and cooking method of each course as it's served. The servers do the same for the wines and additional offerings. At the end , they gift you with a cute mini treat to enjoy after the experience. We got little oatmeal cream pies with a couple homemade candies like Carmel and chocolate. I'd definitely come again. Please keep in mind that you get what you pay for and this is a gourmet dining experience that can be expensive for some, especially if you get the add-ons. They do add up. But this would be perfect for a special occasion or just because to treat yourself/someone. And also keep in mind that Alex sources the animal protein for the dishes from his own farm with clean and controlled practices.

Bovino After Dark is one of the most unique dining experiences I've had in Atlanta…read more The intimate chef's counter gives every guest a front-row seat as each course is prepared and plated right in front of you. It creates an interactive atmosphere that feels personal and makes you appreciate the craftsmanship behind every dish. Before the tasting menu began, I ordered both the baked oysters and raw oysters. Both were incredibly fresh and a great way to start the evening. Throughout dinner, I enjoyed the Conde Valdemar Rioja Blanco from Spain, which paired beautifully with the meal. The tasting menu featured four thoughtful courses, each with its own personality. The Szechuan pork with green beans and Sungold tomatoes was a flavorful start with a nice balance of richness and freshness. The Alabama crab with yellow corn tamale and tomatillo was one of my favorite courses of the night. It was light, sweet, and beautifully balanced. The duck with kimchi bao, chanterelle gumbo, and okra brought deeper, more comforting flavors and was easily the boldest course on the menu. The hanger steak with red habanada peppers, chermoula, and potatoes was cooked beautifully and made for a satisfying finish before dessert. Dessert was a play on cereal and milk. Fruit Loops, mango, lime leaf, and fennel somehow came together into a dish that felt both nostalgic and refined. The entire evening was thoughtfully paced, the service was warm and welcoming, and watching the chefs work just a few feet away made the experience even more memorable. If you're looking for something beyond a traditional dinner reservation, Bovino After Dark is absolutely worth experiencing.

I ended up getting the soul rolls and lasagna cupcakes. The soul rolls presentation on this cute little cart with hot sauce and cranberry sauce. Its 2 rolls cut in half. It also comes with a cornbread muffin. Reminded me of jiffy. The roll is wrapped in spring roll paper so I would have preferred it to be wrapped in egg roll for the extra crunch factor. Overall its tasty. I should have gotten 2 orders instead of getting the cupcakes. The lasagna was bland abd really just super cheesey. Its also ground turkey. Tge bartender was personable and great customer service. I will be back and plan to to try some other menu items. The price was cool.

The event was promoted on Eventbrite as "Reggae Gold - Playing the best of the early 90s and early…read more2000s". That's my era and I'd recently driven by this location and realized how convenient it is. To RSVP was free so that was sweet. Parking: It's free which is a bonus. There's a limited amount of spaces out front but it's in a shopping plaza so you can park by neighboring business that are closed or under renovation to the left of the club. Stay inside their fencing to avoid getting towed. Entrance: They checked ID and purses. Men were pat down by the security or police on duty. The hostess asked for your name on the RSVP list. There's likely a cover if you don't RSVP. Inside: This is where it goes down hill. The setup or layout is weird to allow patrons to drink, eat, dance & hookah comfortably. There's one bar - that's small and 2 bartenders. A hookah bar where you can order food too - interesting pairing. Then up 4 stairs or so are the sections, the DJ booth and a mini dance floor. More like a walk way. This is the only way to the outdoor patio so...The patio had one small speaker, a few chairs & high tables and no bar. Experience: The drinks weren't flowing because the bar seemed overwhelmed. Either the POS system, lack of ingredients (no cranberry, no pineapple juice, etc.). The servers only helped tables yet a lady told me her table never got service after 1.5 hours! So everyone is crowding around the bar being ignored. Even after flagging down the owner/manager there was no relief. ‍ The DJ and the sound was the only real highlight. They delivered as promised. Only drawback is there's no real dance floor. I tried to make it work after getting 2 expensive drinks. I didn't try the food or check the restroom because I was ready to bolt. My rating is for the DJs but I don't recommend going here. They need to renovate the floor plan, hire more staff, organize better, get servers to help everyone. Mobile payment systems are a thing now. Also, consider enforcing a dress code.

LONG BUT HONEST REVIEW…read more For starters let me say I had high hopes for Ms. V's Kitchen as I'm a soul food fanatic and love to find gems in my area. The first time I ordered through DoorDash I spent $40 and got the turkey wings (they were good but dry & could've used some more seasoning to my taste), mac & cheese & candied yams with a fruit punch to drink. I was most excited about the mac & yams only to find out via my Dasher that she 'ran out of yams' and I had to choose a substitute. It says online they open from 11am-11pm but in fact they open at 3pm and close at 11pm. I placed my order at 5pm. Not sure how she ran out of yams so quickly with so much of the rest of the day to go.. The Mac & potato salad was good and the fruit punch I loved!! They were very stingy w. the mac tho for what I paid. I was upset I didn't get my yams as well so I tried again the next day. THIS time I called at 11:36 am to find out if yams were being made, being that I only was going to order again if so. She told me personally she would start making the yams at 1pm & that they open at 3pm. I told her I paid a good amount & not for the small portion of side I had received. She assured me when I placed my order that day, she and her workers would make sure I get a much better portion along w. my yams. 3PM came as I already had my items in the cart ready to place my order. I tried to when DoorDash told me I could only place a timed order as Ms. V wasn't opening until 4:15 pm. I didn't know if that was a mistake or what was going on so I called not 1, not 2, but 3 times and none of my calls were answered. I then waited until they finally opened at 4:15pm and immediately placed my order. I was excited bc I knew I was told I would not only get my yams that day but also a better side portion. I ordered the baked chicken (very dry but def more seasoned) instead of turkey wings this time with the same side items and drink. My order arrived around 5:48 pm & the dasher that I get placed w. quite frequently dropped my food off. I opened it to see I was now given 2 sides of Mac w. not a yam in sight. Frustrated I called back to the restaurant at 5:51pm. Ms V spoke to me & told me she not only called me but had the dasher call me as well to tell me the yams 'weren't done yet' & she didn't want me to wait any longer for my order so she substituted mac for the yams. I did not receive ANY of those calls from either party nor did my dasher mention anything of the sorts when he dropped my food off. That specific dasher has texted me many times whenever an issue comes up with an order I have, so to hear that she AND the dasher both called me multiple times w. no answer on my end I do not believe. I was annoyed bc I not only called in the MORNING to ask about the yams BEFORE I placed my order, but was told they would be started at 1pm only for it to be almost 6pm and supposedly they weren't finished yet. The whole reason I ever placed a second order was specifically for the yams I didn't receive the first time. Ms. V apologized and offered to make it up to me by saying she would give me another meal & drink ON HER.. WITH the yams I didn't get for sure. I work at night so I asked when she would be able to fulfill her promise. She asked at first if I could pick up from her restaurant as I told her I couldn't bc my car would be gone after 6pm. She then said not to worry she will deliver my meal PERSONALLY when she got a chance. I couldn't leave the gap of not knowing the time so I asked if it would be late bc I couldn't do late! I work at night. She said NO and to give her about 2hrs (so around 7pm-ish) Hours went by. I tried to be lenient & gave her some extra time bc I thought she may have gotten busy. I didn't receive any update, no call or text so I texted her at 9:50pm. I didn't get a reply back until 10:51 PM... NINE MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING with only the words "on the way now". I was highly upset as this is not what I agreed to, there was little to no poor communication on her end and I was already at work. I called 4/20/21 at 1:22pm for my final time. She answered and I asked if I'd be able to get the plate she promised. She responded w. "ooooh Ana I sent that order out the other night and it was kind of a waste bc you weren't there". I immediately almost choked bc the audacity and explained to her that what she did was send out an order at almost 11pm & not the time she told me. Again this time she said she still had my order in her texts and phone from the last time and that she would have my meal delivered but did not apologize. The ENTIRE day has went and gone. I never heard from her again. She did not deliver the meal she promised for the third time. Ms. V did not value me as a customer nor appreciate my business so I will take it elsewhere.
