Not everybody can make collard greens, so I was highly skeptical about using my last food token, but the long line of repeat customers made me try it. The creativity in combining the two very different foods was terrific. But the flavors together were a masterpiece. Not only that, the sauce they paired with it, which resembles a yum yum sauce, hit the spot. I honestly can say I would gladly pay money for this again and again!!! I wish I had a pic, but I was too busy tearing it up, lol!!

They were one of the less expensive caterers in our search, but you certainly couldn't tell from the experience we had! Cathy was pleasant, flexible and patient as we went through the process of figuring out what we wanted, and we appreciated that she tried to incorporate local and seasonal ingredients into her menus. Both the passed hors d'oeuvres and the buffet service went smoothly, and our guests raved that it was some of the best wedding food they had ever had. Some of the favorites were the beef short ribs, the "shrimp and grits" hors d'oeuvres, and the rice middlins risotto, which was so creamy that bets were being placed on whether or not the grits had made another appearance. We did provide our own desserts and alcohol, which helped with the bill considerably, but everything else was provided. The service was excellent, the timing was perfect, and they had no problem working with our venue, which was on the slightly unusual side (Paris on Ponce). We highly suggest going with Avalon for your next event!

I was looking for something simple but eye catching. Kristin and Ashleigh did a great job of taking simple into something more. The finished product was a rustic / industrial vibe with a lot white flowers and A L O T of greenery. This was perfect for me because I'm allergic to most flowers, so I liked that they used mostly greens (eucalyptus, olive branches, etc) to make up for the lack of flowers. The center pieces for each table were perfect. It didn't take up the entire table and people were able to eat in peace without having flowers and leaves all up in their food. The food: W O W. I was so impressed with their food. Everything tasted amazing. We decided to do a buffet style dinner, and even still, the food stayed hot. The wedding was on Saturday, it's Monday now... I've been getting non stop compliments about the food and designs. All of my guests said that it was the best wedding food they've had ever! (Even the ADULTS were impressed). If that's not reassuring, I don't know what is. I will say that they are a bit pricier than most places, but your money is going into quality rather than quantity. Bold was worth every penny.
