Even though this business was forced to be closed by the state of S.C. due to the fact that the owner of Atkins boatlanding had passed away and his elderly wife was unable to meet the states demands to make very expensive environmental renovations, I want to give a 5 star review to Atkins boat landing for the many many years of service, fun and so many memories that it provided to not only the town of MoncksCorner S.C., but to thousands of famlies from out of state that would make Atkins boat landing their yearly vacation destination. I know that I'm not alone when I reminisce back to when I was a child and experienced catching my first fish or th summer that I finall got the chance to pull away from the dock in our family boat and had the thrill of getting out,on Lake Moltrie and jumping into the water with butterflies in my stomache and water skies on my feet, i smile at the memory of the pride on my dads face when I popped up and out of the water the very first time I learned how to water ski! we would get back to the boat landing worn out in the best worn out kind of way! Flippo and Butch will be etched in my memory forever! Those really WERE the days that I thought would never end. read more
