From our very first appointment, I felt confident in her expertise, and her care over the years has been excellent. If I were rating based on her alone, this would easily be a 5-star review. Unfortunately, the overall experience with the orthopedic office is very different. The insurance department, which appears to handle requests for multiple offices, really needs improvement. Pre-authorizations are consistently a struggle, and calls from the dept. are often not returned in a timely manner--if at all. I recently spent over 2 months waiting for an update on a medication request, only to discover (after contacting my insurance company myself) that the request had never been submitted. This was especially frustrating given that I'm preparing for a 2nd out of country travel in April and need to manage my pain care ahead of time. It's disappointing that such an outstanding doctor is supported by such poor administrative processes. I genuinely hope the office addresses these issues, because patients--especially those dealing with pain and recovery--deserve far better.

The results under her guidance are far superior to other PT experiences I've had. After total knee replacement, Monique, and as well Mr. Ho, encouraged and marshaled the enormous confidence and motivation required to get off the walker and cane. In only four weeks they added 70 degrees range of motion to the knee, which led to crucial cancellation of an imminent second operation to remove scar tissue. Without their advanced therapies, patience, and encyclopedic knowledge I would have ended up back in an OR, or worse. I will be grateful to Monique and Mr. Ho for the rest of my life. I have worked with two great Physical Therapists and two great Occupational Therapists. OT's were Roxy and Jorge (George) and the PT's are Dr. Calvin Baxter and Suki. Suki is the one I am currently working with. I am a difficult case in the sense I have a ton of stuff going on (had several surgeries over the last 6 years and not the best help until I found these folks). What I love about this group is that they are constantly learning. I need a PT with dry needling experience. Dr. Baxter and Suki have that. Also what I love is that the PT's spend time with you. Once the Tech's take over, the PT's are available should a problem arise or if there are a questions. The Tech's are great as well. They guide us and assist us to make sure we are doing the exercises correctly. They are a great support as well. They listen and help according to whatever the need is. Lastly, White Oak Physical Therapy is a community therapy office that treats me like a private practice. By the way, I have been coming for the last two months (during the Covid-10 Pandemic). The Owner has created an extremely safe place for his staff and clients. The entire staff wear masks. The physical therapists wear scrubs, face masks and face shields. Temperatures are taken as soon as you walk in the door. Sanitizer is available. All equipment and machines are sanitized after each and every use. It is definately a safe haven for those that wish to return and those that need a place to get receive rehabilitation help.

I was sent to get x-rays that only after 7 months, and several physical therapy sessions not treating the problem, did Dr. Kessous return my calls. While in the office for my one visit, I was billed $180 for night splints that were the wrong size, I do not use, and they would not accept a return (these can be purchased for $20-30 at your local pharmcy). I was also sold $45 off-the-shelf orthotics that actually worsened my plantar fascistis. I should also note that the x-rays were a separate bill ($70 out of pocket). Because I had not had any results from the x-rays or word from the doctor on either my bill or my physical therapy, I cancelled a follow-up appointment for which I was then billed another $40. The billing office was terrible and unresponsive but finally (8 months later) credited me those last $40. In the end, I received better advice and more attentive service from the salespeople at my local running store.
