Absolutely shocking. From the very beginning to the end. We brought our dog here when he started having seizures out of nowhere. The girl was more concerned that he was still intact, and asked why he wasn't muzzled, even though our dog is not a restricted breed. They kept him overnight and monitored him while doing tests to figure out the problem. They sent him home with medication that I later discovered was a suitable dose for a cat (our dog is 50kg) He had seizures again and even worse 2 weeks later. They wanted to do CT scans. My gut told me to get a second opinion so we looked for another vet. This different vet went into so much more detail and asked so much more important questions that the Athlone Vets should have been asking from the beginning. Within half an hour they found the root cause by simply checking his stool and urine samples. How could athlone vets not check these basic things and prescribe a tiny dose is beyond me. Absolutely disgusted, as we could have lost our dog if we didn't get a second opinion. Also, with Athlone Vets, his 'check up' was the vet watching him walk out the window of the clinic. These people absolutely do not care and charged us a small fortune for not doing the basics.
