While this place is no longer known as Homestead, someone should point out to them that simply…read morechanging names doesn't rid the skeletons this place has in its closet. Was discharged to this facility after a stent in the hospital from surgery. For the most part this place lacks the necessary skill/training needed to care for the patients under their care. From supervisors that lack the ability to communicate to their subordinates, RNs that don't know how to properly change a Wound Vac, to LPNs that don't know how to properly administer insulin. Then add to that by company policy there's certain prescriptions that only an RN can administer, but guess what...they don't always have an RN available to administer the prescription. I'm disgusted that the state continues to allow this place to operate. On the subject of rehab...they get by with just the bare minimum. With what rehab I got under their care, I could have ordered the needed supplies shipped to my home and used instructions found online. Then add to all of that that the inter office drama between staff members that residents have to endure and witness. And discharging patients with out the needed supplies to carry on the care they are needed. I could go on but...

My grandmother recently spent some time at Homestead for rehab after a stay in the hospital…read more Crystal, unit manager, of the skilled unit was incredibly informative and answered all my questions. The nurses that worked with my grandma were attentive and compassionate. The rehab staff were amazing. Hopefully grandma doesn't have a need for more rehab, but if she does we'll be taking her back to Homestead.

I called there because I worked with them and their residents when I was a Hospice social worker…read morefor a hospital in Lincoln, NE. Because that previous experience is so much fun and interesting working with great staff and wonderful residents, I thought volunteering there would be the perfect place. I called the office and spoke with a woman. I told her what I wanted to do but she was very rude. She transferred the call to another person. The next woman was just as rude as the previous one. I decided not to volunteer with Eastmont. I didn't want to surround myself with rude and grumpy staff. I did get a call from upper management. She was very kind. I appreciated her apologizing for her rude employees. Eastmont gives great care to its residents. I hope that never changes. Since renovating their facility/home, it is a beautiful and comfortable environment. I gave them a lower review so they will learn to hold people accountable. I believe everyone should be treated with kindness and being polite.

Mom played Bingo and won snacks, watched movies, was involved in Tasty Tuesday, participated in wonderful craft projects and there was also a a variety of entertainment brought in for the residents. Carol was a very caring person who made the residents feel special with every interaction. Sadly, Carol is leaving Eastmont May 2024 (budget cuts?). Eastmont will not be the same without Carol!
