A very special place…read more The building is unique, the teachers are caring and professional, and the school has a community-like vibe that I simply have never seen in a school before. It is so warm and inviting. The students have a meeting in the morning-with the whole school-and teachers and students are congratulated for their hard work as individuals and groups. This isn't just for those kids with the best grades but for kids who have made great progress or done kind acts as well. Its a very compassionate place. This is a diverse school and allows many opportunities for all kids. The wonderful field trips, extracurriculars, and interesting classes/lessons that are added in can really motivate kids. Learning to make pottery, playing the drums, or performing in school plays can give kids a neat push and help them learn to work towards their goals. The principal and vice principal are wonderful and really involved. They visit the classrooms and the kids know who they are. Students are encouraged to think critically. This is how all schools should be!

This event was full of great vendors wonderful artists and some of the best wine and burton vendors of Kentucky! Everything was free bc of our donation for the ticket purchase! I recorded friendly hellos,, warmed welcomes, and wonderful generosity tonight! All of the bodies were very willing to share information about their business and tell me about great events by have coming up! Some of the more memorable ones include BBC, elk creek vineyards winery, and atria senior living catering. The school offers academics that are challenging, but there is no homework in the lower grades! Waldorf emphasizes spending time with family and friends after school, not doing busy work. We like the traditional approach to class work, with students using paper and pencil, rather than learning on a screen. The small class sizes and student/teacher relationships are important to us as well. Overall, this is a great school option!

One Star Living…read morenext to this school has been incredibly frustrating, and the behavior of some of the parents during pick-up and drop-off is truly disappointing. For a community that's supposed to reflect Christian values, I've seen quite the opposite. Today, I was blocked in my own driveway for nearly 20 minutes just trying to leave my home. When I finally had no choice but to slowly maneuver my way out, a parent actually got out of their car and started yelling at me -- as if I was in the wrong for trying to access my own property. This kind of entitlement and lack of courtesy is not only disrespectful, it sets a terrible example for the children. If this is how the parents behave, I honestly worry about what kind of values are being taught at home. I really wish the school would set better boundaries and take into consideration that their school is in a residential neighborhood. People live here -- it's not just a parking lot. The lack of awareness and consideration is appalling.

It was a long wait and when I finally got to the end I realized why. There were two ladies at checkout and one only took cards and the other only took cash. The cash lady was sitting there with nothing to do because everyone was paying by card. It should have been that both people took cards but only one would also take cash. It would have sped things up considerably. Also there were some items that you had to stand in a whole other line to get, which was fine but I was tired of waiting so I didnt go over to see what was offered there. In any case I got a fish sandwich (good thickness, decent flavor), a slice of cheese pizza (basic, what you would expect) and fries (probably the best thing which was a little sad since those were definitely pre packaged). Would I come back? Yeah probably, the people watching was immaculate (so many drunk people at 5pm?) and I might go to the other line next time because it was shorter. Oh and bring CASH.

This is a different kind of school. The students get a say in what/how they learn by picking…read morethemes, being able to move around in class, having the ability to think outside the box, and they learn how to think critically and solve problems with direction rather than being taught to sit down, be quiet, and do exactly as told. They have some choice in how things go and learn in a slightly off-beat way, making this great for kids with attention issues, kids who do not fit into a cookie-cutter mold, and parents who want a less traditional experience. The school has a "whole-child" approach meaning they do not focus solely on academics but also on things like kindness, diversity, proper health, etc. There is no cafeteria so students must bring their own lunch and those lunches are expected to be healthy. Many of the lessons are hands-on, especially in science. The preschool program is really top-notch and results in students learning reading skills and math in a quicker and more efficient way. Class sizes are small and the school itself is quite little. The big downsides are the price and location. Its not conveniently located by much of anything but this allows for a huge lot to play on, learn on, and use for gardening/greenhouses, and cross country running. The school has large windows and does not cover them with blinds so kids cannot see outside--there is more freedom than that here. The tuition is HIGH and this is not a place most can afford which is very unfortunate as so many kids could benefit from it. Of course, much of that tuition goes to the "higher ups" and results in huge salaries and you do get quite a lot of the private/independent school politics here.
