When we saw Nordica's portfolio, we knew he'd be our top choice if he had availability - Cole combines an ability to capture these very spontaneous, intimate human moments with an equal eye for framing amazing, expansive landscapes and natural beauty. The day before our wedding, Cole did some scouting of off-site locations for portraits. He proposed that we get an early start at 6am the next day to catch the dawn from an incredible hillside spot he'd found overlooking the fjords. We hadn't initially planned on a sunrise start, but wow, we are SO glad we took him up on the idea. All the photos Cole took are exceptional, but our very favorite portraits are from catching dawn on the mountain, with the fjords and snowcapped peaks in every direction (all this to say: if Cole proposes a slight change of plans, take him up on it!!!). It was a really magical experience and a perfect start to the day. But it's also worth saying that Cole did a phenomenal job the rest of the day too - he caught so many moments, large and small, and captured so many of the emotions we and our families felt throughout the day. Furthermore, Cole was incredibly timely, thoughtful and helpful throughout our communications leading up to our event (and after). During our wedding, he was also a calm presence and helpful sounding board for small tactical issues that arose throughout the day - it helps to have someone around who has been through a wedding or two before!

In the early planning stages of our trip, Cole was responsive, helpful, and flexible. He suggested many locations that would fit the aesthetic, mood, and climate we had envisioned, and we settled on a couple of key locations. Our wedding day began early in the morning before sunrise, and lasted all the way through the evening. It was nonstop traveling around some of the most beautiful landscapes we had ever seen, going between those planned locations but stumbling constantly onto hidden gems along the way - such as castles, lakes, and abandoned cabins - where we'd always hop out of the car and grab some quick photos before returning on our way. Driving from location to location, we would have great conversations in the car as Cole continued to scour the view. You could see the gears in his head spinning as he eyed down the landscape, the trees, the mountains. When something special caught his eye he'd excitedly pull over to the side of the road, grab his camera, and run out of the car saying "Hold on, I'll be right back!" After a few minutes of surveying the site, he'd be back with a "Nah, no good, let's keep going," or a "This place rocks, the trees are perfect, let's go!" There was not a single moment where he tried to wrap up early, oversell us, or put in less than 110% effort. His passion for photography was palpable, and that energy carried us through the very long and rewarding day that never stopped delivering. When we received the photos a few weeks later, we were absolutely blown away. The moments throughout our journey were captured so vividly, it was far beyond our expectations. Aside from being an incredibly talented photographer, Cole is just a cool, relaxed guy, and he really made us feel like close friends the entire time we were together. I can't recommend Nordica enough! You'll get stunning photos and the adventure of a lifetime.

Do NOT go to this place!!! It's a rip-off…read more I tried to get a CV portrait taken here one day and it was a terrible experience. Normally, I wouldn't go to a cheesy portrait place to get a picture taken, but I was in a pinch. I needed a CV portrait to submit to something in record time. I'm an Art Director with professional retouching and studio photography experience. Unfortunately, I do not have access to a studio space here in Stockholm, so I couldn't do it myself without exorbitant cost. However, I thought that since this place is in my neighborhood and it wasn't the most important picture of my life, I could get a bunch of images taken, pick the one I least hate and retouch it myself. All I would've needed to make sure of at the time of visit is that he had an ok camera and decent portrait lighting setup. We did not even get to that point. I didn't even walk more than five feet inside the studio. I only got to take off my jacket while telling the photographer (I'm assuming his name is Björn) what I wanted. He made it very clear immediately that what I wanted was not going to happen. He said that he would not give me an unretouched raw image. Period. He said that I should've called ahead and asked before coming. I was shocked! First of all... why would I need to call ahead? Your a photographer, all the images you shoot are raw and unretouched at the beginning. I was actually just asking him to hand me the files directly after the shoot instead of processing them (in other words, asking him to do less work). It's not crazy of me to think that I could pay for a photoshoot and get the files I want afterwards! What the hell? Come to find out that this guy wanted to charge me an additional 240:- (about 25 USD) for every image. Just so he could put his "artistic vision" on each one! No thanks. I don't want any cheesy artificial blurring and low quality effects that most portrait retouching studios like this do. Just check out his website... he totally does it! Maybe he just wanted to milk me for more cash? Hmmm. What do you think? I asked him if he could've made an exception (to what I thought was an extremely unreasonable rule) because I was a retoucher who has actually worked on quite a few fashion and portrait images prior to our little conversation. I even name dropped a few important people I have retouched for advertising purposes, to give an idea of my talent level (and to kinda stick it to him a bit, yeah). He went full diva! He said no, because he was the photographer and basically that was that. I understand taking pride in your work, maybe more than most, but come on! I'm paying you for a service here. You are not a fine artist here, you are not an A-list fashion photographer either. You take CV portraits. Not fashionable portrait photography intended for a top gallery or high-end fashion magazine either. Get real. The studio itself looked small and sad. It looked like the kind of place where art with a capital A goes to die! Why on earth would the a small time portrait photographer have delusions of grandeur to this degree? It's unreal. Thank you for making me waste my morning getting ready for you just to serve me a big ole' plate of diva attitude for our lunchtime meeting. Because of that hostility, I am now wasting more time on this review. With that realization...Bye Felicia!
