We made tapioca, cheese bread, steak, veggies, and rice. It was delicious! Additionally, we made unlimited caipirinhas so the entire class became happily hydrated and full by the end of the class. The instructor added a lot of Brazilian history as we made the meal. Although it was a holiday, the event was still on in the quaint shopping store location that was closed but opened only for our cooking event.

From start to finish it was one of the most memorable experiences from our week-long visit. Simone and her team were so welcoming, accommodating, kind, interesting and we learned so much. Simone's insight on Brazilian/Carioca culture and life was appreciated and we found her to be a great source of knowledge on some of the questions we had built up in our time in Brazil. As for the cooking, it was very hands-on and we participated in each part of the meal creation. The food was excellent and easy enough for us to (try to) make on our own. Immediately upon returning home, I went to find as many of the ingredients as I could to replicate the dishes we made with Simone.
