We enjoyed this educational aspect as well as the number of exhibits that could be experienced directly. My kids were big fans of the touch tank where they touched different varieties of skates and rays. The fish all seemed quite happy to interact with us. Many of the exhibit tanks are smaller, which isn't a drawback but a bonus:they are so well set up that you always know what you are looking at and the fish are right there in front of you, not hiding in some dark corner. It's definitely worth it to attend one of the feeding times. My children got to have personalized attention by one of the aquarium experts during feeding times: They held sea stars, had fish nibble bread right out of their hands, and learned interesting new facts about what to look for the next time they see a tide pool. Highly recommend. It was €30 for our family of four, parking available in abundance either in their lot or up and down the main street in front of the aquarium. Enjoy a stroll on the nearby beach when you're done or grab tea and hot chocolate at the attached cafe (Arabica).

It was absolutely one of my favorite parts about our trip. Let me start from the beginning: The night before we were in Galway my friend and I contacted Moycullen Riding Centre via email (not successful, but we all know that rural internet is a pain), there is a phone number however it was already late at night. Anyways, our mistake, but we decide to drive out to the stables the next morning anyways. When we arrive at this quaint home about 15 mins outside of Galway we were greeted by Sandra's parents - Sandra's mother is such a sweet, sweet lady! She allowed us to use her cellphone to contact Sandra & Tom and squeeze a ride in. Tom to the rescue - he drops what he is doing and drives out to the stables to take my friend and I for a trail ride! Tom is a wonderful tour guide, the horses were amazing & beautiful creatures, and the terrain/trail is something you do not want to miss. We learned soooo much about Ireland! I literally could go on and on, but I will say this VISIT THE MOYCULLEN RIDING CENTRE!! It's 100% worth the drive and money!! Thank you guys sooooo much for the wonderful experience!

The facility has a Museum, but the real fun is the grounds around it. Think rolling Irish meadows - about 100 acres. They have trails for people that have never ridden before, water play area for the horses, and huge meadows with many jumps. My 16-year-old daughter has been riding for the past 5 years. She was in heaven. She rode Princess, a small white pony. That pony has some moves! She can jump her height. I'm 6'2" and they set me up with "Mr. Big". Cost was approx. $35/hour (the Euro is trading at 1.25/dollar) per rider, plus I gave a 20 Euro tip to our guide.
