As hostels go in London, this is very good value for money. Paid £10 a night for a bed in an 8 bunk room, and for that price, it was more than worth it. I only used it to get about 6 hours sleep for 4 days, while looking for somewhere to live, and it was a good pick.
After reading reviews of other hostels, which often included 'cockroaches' I was happy that this hostel lived up to its reputation of being regularly cleaned and having no such problems. The showers are fairly clean, and had no problems queuing in the morning for them. Also, a very basic self service breakfast is provided: Toaster, bread, butter, jams, cereal, milk, squash, tea and coffee. Okay its not exactly brilliant, but when you pay very little its not bad.
One thing that surprised me was the quietness of the place. Although half the hostel was teenage, the other half students, there were no big drunken parties, and I found myself (mid-20s) being the last one back in the room. Only noise is the A40 road into Central London, although you get used to it very quickly. read more
