The setting is gorgeous, the views of the Aegean are spectacular. Going for a post-breakfast dip in the sea was really wonderful. The meals we had here were top-notch; we especially enjoyed the multi-course dinner. The campus has a library with lovely, cozy seating where you could imagine spending all day.
But-- when we arrived, we found out they had given away our room. We had specifically asked and paid for adjoining rooms exactly five months prior, but when we arrived there was not one to be found. The front desk manager didn't speak much English, and when he called his boss to figure out a solution, he told him (in Turkish) that he had given away our room, not knowing we could understand. It was a really dishonest and disappointing start to our stay, and though in the end we got a small discount on the rooms, we had to fight really hard. All the front desk manager had to say about it was, "Problem."
This would be a nice place to spend several nights in a row. As it was, we were only stopping over for a night on our road trip through Turkey, so as much as we ended up liking the place, we didn't get to enjoy all it had to offer, to the fullest.
