Management here is horrible, all the company cares about is making profit not patient care. They were hacked a couple years back and lied to all their patients - telling them they were just doing a software update. It's a shame how many people were left uninformed that their information was stolen. The staff here are the fakest people you will ever meet. I stopped in to Aspen dental eau Claire to ask some questions about getting a small tooth extracted. It had broken in half and a small part was hanging loose. We talked about the cost and the person I talked to said I could make an appointment online as a new patient. The day of my appointment came and even though I said I need this tooth extracted I spent two hours in their office getting x-rays being examined, talking to the hygienist. All to try to sell me other services. And then the dentist said oh we are not going to do this today and then I had to have a conference where finally someone said well we don't do extractions here we need to refer you to an oral surgeon. It's a simple extraction of a small tooth! They could have told me when I walked in the door that they don't do extractions there. Total assholes. They wouldn't even remove the little part that's clinging to some gum and causing me problems. I'm going to have to cut it off now. No stars whatsoever read more

Felt more like a visit to a shady car mechanic then a dentist. In addition, they refused to see my pregnant wife because she refused x rays. No reason they couldn't have done a basic cleaning and then further evaluate in 6 months after pregnancy. It was like going to mechanic for an oil change and mechanic telling you he needs to have option to rebuild transmission or he won't do the oil change. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 as the people working there were nice enough. The issue is clearly some corporate BS with intent to get as much money out of patient as possible. I had a great experience here. I hate going to the dentist and have had really bad experiences feeling judged and bad about myself. At Aspen Dental Eau Claire, the staff was great. I loved my Doctor, hygienist, and assistant. Highly recommend this place. Especially if previous bad experiences have stopped you from getting dental care. read more

I had been using Aspen for years and have had more and more problems every time I would go. They always have a different hygenist or Dentist every time I would go (2x per year). The last time they overcharged me by $129.50 and when I went to my next appointment they told me that I needed to pay for this time's cleaning and my next one 6 months from now in order to hold my spot. When I asked how much it would be I was told just under $500 for 2 cleanings. When I tried to talk with the financial mgr there was no one there to talk to. I tried three calls later with no response so I finally just showed up one day to discuss this new policy and the gal acted like he did not care at all if I was a long-time customer or not. My experience with Aspen dental started of ok, then they got me on a elaborate plan with dental treatment we're goal seems to both Max out my insurance and of course max what I could pay. I am not poor. Then I started to notice a lot of lack of knowledge and slopynes, sometimes it was total chaos, and i spent a lot of time waiting and waiting in the chair and in the waiting room. I was sometimes in emergencies treated by the lady that was in the front desk.since the other assistant was busy. I was shocked. One time after 3 hour a treatment ( more like HORROR SURREAL MOVIE ) ... in afterthought i should just have left and never gone back. Shortly after that i had the most agonying pain i vet have had in my life. stupid me wanted to finish my plan. BeinG stupid and Brave. You Are meant to trust some that have graduated dentistry ?! ....well it went on from may to September I paid 7000 plus insurance maxed out and I lost my 5 front teeth. I can prove if I want to but I I am not sure I have the energy or stamina to fight a kind this of money machine that Aspen dental is, they are now also into surgery. They scare the shit out me. I only hope that all other poor soul is not unlucky enough to experience the same experience as mine. But after some research (which i should have done before i went to them). Its many many lawsuits aga them and I am shocked that this is possible. and many life's affected of their callous and insensitive way of treating their patients. The Aspen Dental website makes it sound very economical (free first exam, free x-rays, $120 fillings, etc., etc.) I should have known better. I went in because I'd lost a filling and simply wanted the filling replaced. I got the exam and the multitude of x-rays, including panoramic, for which I wasn't charged. So far, so good. But from there onward things got VERY expensive. The dentist recommended a crown ($$$), but when pressed agreed that the filling could be replaced (though it wouldn't be the inexpensive, "single surface" filling advertised). But when the exam is over, they had me sit down with a financial planner -- never a good sign! The financial planner slid the treatment estimate across the desk, and it was over $2400. No itemization, no breakdown of how the total was arrived at, just...$2400. When pressed, she revealed that the estimate included a crown and special periodontal treatment "to arrest bone loss." We don't have dental insurance, and I explained that such an amount would wipe out our family's emergency fund and out-of-pocket medical savings and then some. I stated again that I simply wanted a filling replaced, but the financial planner said that that wasn't an option. Even if they left the crown off, it was still nearly $900. When I asked her to remove the "periodontal treatment" and just replace the filling, she said that was impossible. To be clear, I'm not saying their diagnosis was incorrect, that it wouldn't be a good idea to get the recommended treatment or that a crown wouldn't be a more lasting solution than a filling. I'm just saying that their website is totally bait-and-switch. It makes Aspen Dental sound like a good place for a quick, inexpensive filling replacement. It's not. I've since done what I should have done to begin with -- found a competent, non-franchise, local dentist who will happily do exactly what I ask and replace my filling for a reasonable price. My family and I are very disappointed in the treatment and care are 83 year old mother has received! Revolving door inexperienced denists, her dentures still do not fit! They keep falling out of her mouth! She has one more appointment for them to make it right. If she leaves disappointed again, all I can say is I sure wish we would have checked all the reviews on Yelp and consumer complaints before we made the first appointment! read more

The staff was very pleasant and happy to be working there. I felt I had the most complete exam of my life and after all the xrays I was a bit concerned about cost, but I wasnt charged anything extra. They said that it as all included in my exam. Even the panoramic X-ray! She said they can only properly evaluate my care if they know everything. Roots, gums, and all views of my teeth. I was very impressed! The other place (who I wont mention but would love to advise anyone NOT to go go there, SO JUST COME HERE FIRST) wanted $1576 to fix a broken tooth so I sought a second opinion. Without telling them I had been elsewhere, I came to Aspen Dental. Here an exam, cleaning, and my repair was $336 with no insurance. All done the same day as my consult. ( I paid $110 at the other guys just a week before for nothing but 1 X-ray and a consult - leaving with my tooth still hurting. ) I seriously cannot recommend these guys more! The staff at Aspen Dental Eau Claire is about "old school" patient care. That means the patient comes before the dollar. And they are not about scamming you to make an extra buck, obviously like the other guys I just experienced. We need more medical offices like this! read more
