PLEASE READ, I wish I would have read reviews before scheduling my appointment. Several reviews say this place scams their customers and I can attest, firsthand, that this is true. I moved and needed to schedule an appointment for an exam/cleaning. This was the first dental office somewhat close that I could get into fairly quickly. They refused to do the cleaning at the exam because they had to assess what type of cleaning I needed. This already sounded a little odd but due to lack of appointment availability at other clinics, I decided to continue with the appointment. On 05/05/26, I had x-rays and an exam done. I asked to wait to talk to someone in a business office About my needed treatments. She told me I would need three more appointments, two were necessary to complete a deep cleaning and then a third appointment for a filling. For some reason none of these could be done on the same day, which also seemed odd. She then gave me the estimate sheet with what my dental insurance covered and what I needed to pay out of pocket. For the three upcoming appointments it would be approximately $350 out of pocket for me. This seemed absurd given the fact that I have never paid out-of-pocket for a dental cleaning. I was reluctant but scheduled the appointments because, well, I want a healthy smile. So I had to make a payment of over $200 just to schedule the appointments (a month before the first appointment was even scheduled). After leaving I told a couple friends I felt "taken" but I had already paid and didn't want to lose my money. A couple weeks later, I receive a bill for the initial exam for $56.10 for a panoramic x-ray. I called my dental insurance as x-rays are covered. They said I was not due for a panoramic x-ray as they are only covered every 5 years. I called Aspen dental and they blamed me, stating my previous provider must not have sent it, so how were they to know it wasn't due. On 06/09/2026 I went to my first cleaning appointment. They tried to collect the $56.10 from the panoramic x-ray but I told them that was being disputed so I would follow-up regarding that. I paid the remaining balance for the 2 cleaning appointments and the cavity filling (approximately $150). I had the first half of the cleaning appointment. On 06/16/26, I had the appointment for the second half of my cleaning. At this point they told me that I owed $56.10. from a previous appointment. I said I was still disputing the x-ray charge. They assured me the charge was related to last week's cleaning. I relayed that it wasn't, that I had the bill at home and I've talked with insurance. The charge was for a panoramic x-ray. They told me insurance paid for that (they didn't) but now, curiously, I owed the same exact amount from the cleaning the week prior for fluoride treatments. Then they told me I also needed to pay approximately $150 for the rest of cleaning. I relayed that I had paid this already. I went over all this with the business office. I paid the full amount already. They told me that my dental insurance refused to pay and that I need to pay approximately $150 plus the $56.10 in order to continue with the second half of my cleaning. I objected to this reiterating the full story. I was taken into a back business office room. She told me the mix up was all insurance's fault and that with 98% of dental insurances their quotes are correct but every once and a while this happens. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield Dental insurance, it's not a fly by night insurance company. I've had it for years and I've never had any issues with my previous dentist. I said I am absolutely not paying $500 out of pocket for what should be covered in full by my dental insurance. I called for a simple teeth cleaning and I'm out a lot of money that was supposed to cover a teeth cleaning and a cavity filling. They said unless I paid $150 more I couldn't continue with my cleaning. I refused. I asked for my money back for the second and third appointments as I now wished to cancel them. She told me there was no money to refund. I objected reminding her I had pre-paid for both appointments. She again she there was no money to refund as the used those payments to cover the appointment the week prior due to my dental insurance denying the claim. I told her I thought I was being scammed. All I came in for to begin with was a simple teeth cleaning. She said she would comp the $56.10 remaining balance charge. So, as it stands, I am out $350, my cleaning was never completed and the cavity was never filled. I have never had such a poor experience with any dental or health provider. I urge you never to use this dental clinic. They really are scam artists. I have filed an in-network provider dispute with my insurance and will be reporting it to the Better Business Bureau. read more

My husband needed to get dentures as his teeth were not in good shape. If we had read the reviews first we would NEVER have gone there. Rude and unprofessional staff, overcharging, poor service, ill fitting temporary dentures that they won't fix, and on and on. He had to go back again to refit the temporary ones and before he could sit down he was immediately told the insurance didn't pay everything and he owed more. We already paid over $8600.00 and yes the insurance did pay $2500.00. He voiced his frustration but was going to pay when someone came from the back and told him to "settle down or I'll have to ask you to leave". She said this AFTER she had already picked up the credit card. There was no need for her to speak out at all, all she did was add to the frustration. My husband told her to give the credit back and then left. I called a couple of days later to pay the amount and reschedule the appointment. I was asked the name and put on hold. The woman came back on and said they were waiting on a response from upper management as to whether or not they would "allow him back". They said he was "violent". I told her I understand why they have so many negative reviews and if they would not finish the treatment we want every penny returned or would have to resort to legal measure. She was rude, patronizing and extremely unprofessional. An expensive lesson that we can't afford. We will probably spend several thousand more to go to a dental agency where the office staff doesn't jump you when you walk in the door. read more

So unprofessional for office staff to call me Dear as I'm making a complaint! I told her I'm not her mother and this isn't the south. The complaint was having fluoride treatment as part of the Plan without being asked if it was wanted.No, didn't want it, it's optional and deceptive to just do it without asking. Don't go here. I have never been told I had periodontal disease in all my years. Every time I went there, I heard the same dialogue for every patient. It is rehearsed and very disappointing. I was told I needed 2 crowns and a filling. I knew better and only said I needed one crown and 2 fillings. In addition, I was forced to pay over $750 prior to service. I was told that is all I needed and then I got another bill. I refused to pay and asked them to remove it and take me off as a customer. I would never recommend this scam artist company!!! read more

Worst dental office ever. Inconsiderate treatment of patients, incompetent in every way imaginable. No one takes responsibility for their mistakes nor their product, i.e. dentures are sub-par. Quality is that of a 5&dime shop. A procedure that should have taken no more than 6 months to finish is heading.towards 2 years. I booked with them because I was moving to Baxter. I told them my dentist recommended a filling and asked to schedule for one. The lady said ok we can do that and scheduled me in November. They called the day before confirming for an initial patient exam with a cleaning: I had scheduled a filling and related that my insurance required 6 months and one day to do a cleaning. So we canceled that one and rescheduled for December 29th the last day to get my second cleaning for the year. I received a call the day before and was told I wouldn't get the cleaning cause the exam would take too long and that they'd have to do X-rays. I was frustrated and told the lady about the previous appointment (to be honest I wasn't the nicest). I was frustrated and ended the call with fine, I'll be there tomorrow. I wanted to end the conversation before I said something I'd regret! I showed up at 8am for that appointment and Kayleigh had cancelled it saying I had cancelled. She gave me a look of disrespect and talked to me like I was a child. One: I didn't cancel it. Two: if you don't want me as a customer and you cancel it, have the respect to tell me instead of wasting my time and lying saying I cancelled it. Don't go to this dental agency. They do not listen to your issues, try to pan off other products and services from other individuals in the dental industry, and will dismiss you if they know you are not going back to their facility. This is what happened to me today. I had a chip in my front tooth that happened the day before, I made an appointment and went in. They took an x-ray of my front teeth, then the dentist came in, smoothed out a part of my chipped tooth that had a ridge on it, then told me to go get my teeth filed down because he couldn't do anything for me. WHAT? I went in with the knowledge that they would fix my front chipped tooth so I didn't walk around looking like a hockey player. Not only did the dentist dismiss me, he wouldn't even tell me to my face that he couldn't fix my tooth - he had the dental assistant tell me. If you want to feel heard, cared for, and not treated like garbage - then DO NOT go to this facility. I would rate this place a 0 start if it were possible!! read more

Terrible business practice. The dentist would not prescribe me an antibiotic I needed Bc I was not scheduling a root canal with them (despite the fact that they had NO ONE available that week to do a root canal, and I live two hours from their clinic/would be back in the twin cities by the time they had someone who could provide the needed procedure). Filed an ethics complaint with the state, Dr. Hodge should not be allowed to practice, as he lacks any regard for a patients wellbeing and, is obviously, only concerned with money in the pocket of the clinic... essentially dangling a NEEDED antibiotic over a patient to entice them to schedule a service with their clinic. I showed up at the clinic for my emergency dental appointment(I broke a tooth) that I had just scheduled about an hour prior, and they had a sign up on the desk stating they were all out to lunch and would be back. Finally, someone asked if I was checking in, to which I answered yes, and then told the gal my name. She then went on to say that my appointment had to be rescheduled because they were understaffed. And you couldn't call me to tell me this? Both my husband and I took off the rest of day from work(he brought me in, assuming I would be put under and wouldn't be able to drive afterwards). The gal told me, "Well, we sent you a text message". First off, that's extremely unprofessional. If you're going to cancel my appointment (that I literally just scheduled), at least have the decency to get ahold of me and make sure I am aware of the cancellation. And second, I did receive the text; however, after following the directions as instructed in the text message, it just confirmed(not rescheduled) my appointment. Why schedule me for an appointment that you know you are understaffed for and aren't going to keep??? We confirmed on Friday my dental appointment for Monday morning. Then on Saturday I received a text saying that I had to rebook. Apparently they double-booked my appointment. So I rescheduled for Wednesday. When I made the initial appointment it was for a cleaning. When I arrived they did all sorts of x-rays and poked around my mouth. They said a cleaning would have to be scheduled for a different time. Why didn't they understand what I made the appointment for in the first place? Besides that they gave me an estimate for $1,500 of dental work before I left. Seems more like a money grab than anything else. I can't recommend them especially because of their ineptitude regarding scheduling and also regarding understand what the client's desires are for their appointment. read more

They set appointments form my wife and a few days later they reschedule it every time and they do that every time. They claim to not have a dentist.And they have done that with me a few times. They charged my insurance 145 dollars and got their money from the insurance company and tried to charge me the same 145 dollars. read more

After having a horrible experience just checking in, the dentist was incredibly rude. He informed me I needed a crown on a tooth that had a previous root canal. That tooth already had a crown put on two years ago. I inform him that I already had a crown. He said I didn't that it was "composite". I asked what did that mean. His response was to yell at me that he wasn't going to argue with me. He examined the tooth (which is right next to my broken tooth that I was being seen for) and then has to confirm that it was in fact a crown. Avoid if possible. After numerous emails and phone calls (way too many) I confirmed my appointment. I was scheduled for a cleaning and following that a filling. Due to an unexpected detour on the 210 detour, I realized I would be about 15 minutes late for the cleaning. I called 15 minutes prior to appointment and was told if I couldn't be there within ten minutes of my appointment time I would have to reschedule. I had to reschedule. I then waited for the filling appointment. After being seated twenty minutes late, my blood pressure was taken and it was dangerously high. EMTs or an emergency room visit should have been advised. It was ignored. When the dentist arrived ten minutes later, I was asked how I was and I said not good. I was ignored. I then questioned the dentist about how it was justified the hygienist would not wait 10 minutes, but I was to happily wait half an hour for the dentist. She attempted to justify this and became very defensive. I was told if I didn't want the work done, I could leave. I did. The employees are young, inexperienced and VERY casual. I had an appointment recently and was very unhappy with the treatment plan they suggested. I have had regular checkups every 6 months. Aspen suggested a deep cleaning at a price of minimally $600. No other hygienist has ever suggested this. They also would not do a normal cleaning (covered by my insurance) without doing a deep cleaning. I left and found a different dentist that I am very happy with. They didn't suggest at all that I needed a deep cleaning. Deep cleaning is only to be done with periodontal disease which I do not have. Steer clear of Aspen unless you like spending extra money on dental procedures. read more

This place is a joke. They have rescheduled every single appointment I have ever had with them. Today when I actually had the nerve to be frustrated and say something, the assistant office manager hung up on me twice. I finally got the manager and he was no help and didn't care. They can't ever get their story straight either. "You saw the dentist so next time you won't need to. You can just see they hygienist." My appointment comes and "We don't have a dentist" (always their excuse). I was told I could just see the hygienist? No. Okay so rescheduled. Confirmed by text three times. Get a call. We need to confirm your appointment. I did? Text doesn't work. Need a verbal. Okay, but why text then? A few minutes after confirming via phone I get a call. We need to move your appointment. But I JUST confirmed?!? Anyway, that's why I asked to speak to someone. Finally got to explain my situation and the guy was like well things happen. Yes, of course but every single appointment? Look at your reviews online. This is awful and needs to be addressed. "My business is flourishing. I don't need to look at reviews." Then he said I could just see the hygienist. So which is it? I can or I can't? I just want to get my teeth cleaned. I am having open heart surgery so I need this done before that. We were charged over $700 for something that should have costed 1/6th of that. My husband went in to get a cleaning and two cavities filled and not only did they convince him that two of his previous recent cavities were done wrong by his previous dentist, they charged him for NINE cavity fillings (quoted they they each hit "multiple teeth") and a few other unnecessary high-tech procedures. Also charged him 400% more than they originally quoted then blamed it on our insurance even though our plan hadn't changed. Just found out Aspen Dental had a class action lawsuit against them 8 years ago for overcharging and aggressive sales of unnecessary procedures.... how uncanny. read more

I went to Aspen Dental and I was told I needed $4,000+ of work. The hygienist said I needed deep cleaning because I had periodontal disease. It was $990. The dentist even said I needed two extractions, because "they might cause me trouble later on". When i was to have further work done there was no dentist or hygienist. I went back to my former dentist. With the xrays he said I needed $338 of work done. Also I do not have periodontal disease. They would not have done the expensive deep cleaning, as they now had/have my records. Do not go there. Ever. read more
