The dental assistant was impossible to understand--she spoke softly with a heavy accent, and sounded as though she had marbles in her mouth. Even after repeating herself, I couldn't understand most of what she said, including her name. The only things she did say that was clear to understand was that what they wanted to do was part of the procedure, which she stated repeatedly no matter what I said to her. I came in specifically for a partial denture consultation and a quote to fill three cavities. Instead, the assistant insisted on a full work-up, including X-rays and a panoramic scan, despite my insurance not covering another panoramic scan (I've already had two in the past 3 months). She also insisted I see their hygienist to measure gaps between my teeth, even though I already have a hygienist. As I refused to submit to a panoramic scan and an exam by their dental hygienist, she brought in Dr. Guzman. Dr. Guzman demanded a panoramic X-ray, claiming my mouth changes so rapidly that even a scan from 24 hours ago would be "outdated." I disagreed--I'd know if I had a fractured tooth, as that was the original issue in March. He verbally assured me I wouldn't be charged (though nothing was in writing), so I reluctantly agreed. However, even after agreeing to his demands, he was argumentative (insisting that an X-ray 24 hours old was "outdated). His dismissive attitude and insistence on unnecessary procedures made me feel disrespected, as if profit mattered more than patient concerns, speaking to me as if he was speaking to an idiot. Ultimately, I left because I refuse to be treated like cattle and a source of revenue, rather than a person. I cannot recommend Smile Dentistry and caution others about my experience.

So they may very well bill your insurance, but at out of network rates. So you will be stuck having to pay the rest of the bill that this office thinks you should pay. No thanks!
