I wish Yelp had a negative star rating. The number of positive reviews here is surprising; we had a…read morevery different experience with this company. We hired The Design Studio to remodel our master bath in 2023; the work entailed removing the tub, enlarging the shower, adding a steam unit to the shower, tile and a bidet toilet. We were told the job would take 3-4 to complete; it was finally finished 3 1/2 months later. Construction delays happen, I understand that, but the delay became least of our problems. We had inspectors and contractors come back and we then realized we had much larger issues, which landed us in a lengthy, painful legal battle with this person. Most of the issues were around the shower glass and steam unit. The glass was to be floor to ceiling and 10 ft. high; it was installed incorrectly after many delays and breaking of the glass at one point. Rather than take responsibility for her subs she blamed them for everything and withheld payment to them to the point that one sub threatened to put a lien on our house. The steam unit took over an hour to get to temperature; we were told that was normal. Only after hiring an inspector did we learn that the steam unit was woefully underpowered for the size of the space, it should have been four times the output that this one was. The glass and steam unit were only part of our problems, we have incorrect wiring, substandard hardware and poor workmanship and mold beginning to form. Prior to discovering the full scope of work that would have to be torn out and re-done all I asked for from the Design Studio was a refund of the cost of the glass, we would get it replaced on our own. We were offered next to nothing in return so we decided to take it to court, a decision that we regret. We are not the type of people to sue, it is not something we have ever considered. We spent over 3 years in the system with delayed court dates, failed mediation and a large amount of money in legal fees. When we finally got our day in court the trial never started. The judge asked why we hadn't settled then suddenly she was ready to settle, AFTER THREE YEARS!!! After a very short negotiation between attorneys, we came to a settlement. The agreed settlement was far from what we had spent but at least it was over, at least we thought. When the time came for her to sign the judgement, she informed the judge that she would be filing for bankruptcy, leaving us with nothing except an expensive bathroom that needs to be remodeled correctly and a large dent in our bank account. I hope this helps someone make an informed decision when hiring a contractor, all of this and more are in writing in emails, text messages and public records. Be very cautious of The Design Studio, Tammy Hamilton or Hammertown, her company that she previously bankrupted.

First, the Southlake location is extremely clean and appears to have a good selection of EA's products for viewing on the sales floor. After a bad experience with a competing furniture store in Frisco, I asked Jo Brabham from EA Southlake to help me with a small project selecting dining room chairs to coordinate with a few existing items. I have to say I am so thankful I decided to work with Jo on this small project. Jo took the time to review my request and try to understand my design preference. She took time out to come to my house to ensure the options selected were a good fit. I really got the sense she was concerned about 1) my satisfaction 2) actually listening to my design preference and 3) finding options that would work from a design perspective but also keep me happy based on my tastes. I did not feel I was being pressured to buy anything or that something was being suggested I'd be unhappy with just to make a sale, which I really appreciate. I truly felt I was getting advice from someone who actually understands design concepts. After placing my order, I received a call to update my on the status and was told to call at anytime for a status update. I received my order 2-3 weeks earlier than the projected date. After my 1st experience, I asked Jo to help me fix a mistake made by a competing store's designer for a club chair. Again, I felt there was an effort to understand what I want and keep me happy while also picking something that will truly look good in my house. I look forward to seeing the chair once it arrives in a few weeks and am confident I'll be happy with it. Furniture is very expensive, and I have learned the hard way that you have to be educated on what you are buying and ensure someone is guiding you to make the correct choices. I am confident EA Southlake will provide proper guidance and look forward to continuing to work with them as other items come up with my house.

Ray, the head of the company, is extremely knowledgeable and very kind. They have an interior designer, Nohemi, that has a great eye, and we loved her design portfolio. YES, their were Construction delays and hiccups along they way. It's called Construction for a reason. But what we love about HDP is they stand behind their work and they are as honest and trustworthy as you get. Just incredible people. It is 2025 and we again have a few projects we want to do and some things we want updated. Ray was able to reach out to the subcontractor who worked with us during our 2016 remodel to make changes to our home security system and cameras. Seriously, almost 10 years later. We had a custom built steel gate installed in 2016. Ray still knew who built it and knew what would be involved at adding a new coat of paint. Ray also helped with moving us over to one system like Ring, Nest,or Wyze. Instead of a hodge podge of various products. This has been huge. During that process he reminded us that the new code requires 3 smoke/fire/carbon detectors. We have referred several friends to HDP and allowed individuals to tour our home and inspect his work. Because we continue to be that impressed. Last week we again gave him a long list of normal wear and tear items to more extensive projects and he submitted his review timely and accurately along with a couple suggestions. We look forward to beginning the next list of projects.
