I was having difficulty and I was talking to a co-worker who came with me and one of the ladies at the store started helping me locate what I needed. The only ingredient they did not have was Thai Eggplant - because I can find some easy substitures. I will be returning to this store; hopefully enough that the workers get to know me. While the store is not huge, they have a *lot* of product. They have items I could get at a chain all the way to true imported products/ingredients. I love going to locally owned small businesses - especially these days with so much online purchasing and mega-stores. Please support them.

Their bread selection is quite nice with all local bakeries making dark Rye bread and other Middle Eastern style breads. The yogurt selection is varied and lovely, they even carry glass jars of Strauss Bulgarian style yogurt and a wide selection of labneh. Fresh feta in deli section also is great as well as unique Middle Eastern and Eastern European meats. We also purchase imported sparkling water, they have a nice refrigerated cooler near the registers, there are several brands we have come to like. The store has also a nice selection of prepared Thai foods and there is a stand outside that sells Thai coconut pancakes on weekends. Checkout here is rather slow, but acceptable given the difficulty of finding such a large assortment of Thai groceries in one location.

The near 1lb hunk was $10.39, which I found to be below what Vons and Kroger charge for their every day price. Today I also ventured over to the produce department because I had recently seen dragon fruit at a family chain market in SFV that was priced at $11ea! Here, $3ea, ripe and yummy. The persimmons were also way lower than those stocked in SFV, where 1pc fruit generally sells for $3/$4. Here at HK Market, $1.99/lb. The 3 I purchased weighed in at just under 2lbs total, making 3 for $3.79! Don't even get me started on Persian Cucumbers! I think, even w/today's gas prices, I still come out ahead when Kroger sells them for $2/ea vs $2/lb at HK Market. Maybe it's because I look a bit out of place at a Korean/Asian market, but regularly staff ask if they can help me find anything and today, a staff member brought me a hand basket when I overloaded my arms with treasures.
