Horrible service! False advertisement! I called twice to make double sure they would have crab legs in their buffet for Christmas Day. The host was rude and said no they didn't have it unless I paid extra for it. I was trying walking out when the Chinese man said it will only be $20 for a plate and the host was saying "who cares let them go." My elderly mother didn't want conflict so we ended up staying. The buffet variety was stale and salty. The fruit clearly came from a can and the frosting/whipped cream was chewy on dessert. The hibachi chef was sitting on the side and took at least 8 minutes to come. The overpriced crab legs was majority claws and the meat was dried up. The service was awful even though it wasn't packed. They couldn't keep up with refills or taking away our plates. The worst part Is majority of us had food poisoning from here. I definitely wouldn't this place to anyone! Our family loves buffet and traveled from Dallas to try it out because of the crab legs they advertised. If I could rate this place zero stars, I most definitely would. We came here for our daughter's birthday, after finding out they had a a sushi buffet and that's all she wanted for her special dinner. We Should've invested our money in a better sushi place, but we were sold to this (awful) place when we found coupons on their website. I should mention, before driving to the restaurant, I called and spoke to someone who assured me we would be able to use both coupons I was inquiring about (kidS eat free with purchase of two adult meals and free birthday meal for a party of 5+) - I explained to him that my husband and I were coming with our three kids l, gave him their ages, and told him that one had a birthday. He kept assuring me that we were able to use them and it was fine. My husband and I don't have a lot of money to spend and believed a dinner out for $20 and change was doable, so we decided to go to Asian King Buffet. What a mistake. The restaurant was dirty and the floors were sticky, the food was mediocre at best and didn't have a lot of options, dessert was stale and disgusting. Our check came and we gave the coupons to the server (who barely even checked on us and barely cleared the table) - she came back and the check almost looked the same! I was confused and explained to her what the person on the phone told me and she said no - it would only count towards one child. It says "KIDS", as in multiple, as in what I clarified with the person on the phone before arriving. Then I pointed out the birthday coupon as well and she said it was either one or the other, we couldn't use both. I tried explaining to her what the person told me over the phone but she kept talking over me and disregarding what I was saying. With that frustration, I went straight to the front to a man who seemed to be the manager or owner (the person I'm positive to be the one I spoke to over the phone) - another HUGE dose of disrespect! He wouldn't give me the chance to breathe, let alone speak - I tried explaining what the person over the phone (clearly him) told me and how this isn't right, and we came here on a budget for disgusting food/service/atmosphere. Everything he said was the complete opposite of the phone call reassurance, and then ended with "that's how we make our money" and proceeded to make a money pinch sign - good to know you care more about money, rather than honoring your word/guest. He then threw a free birthday coupon at me, after trying to push me off the ledge with disrespect and told me "here, just to make you happy". I almost told him to shove it up his ... but my kids were standing right there. I ended up returning the coupon and told him we'll never be coming back. So now, between the garbage meal and a garbage tip for garbage service, we're out about $40 (double our budget) and extremely dissatisfied. The food was okay, not any better or worse than your run-of-the-mill Chinese buffet. The customer service, however, was atrocious. I called in mid-April to book the party room for a graduation party in early June and would not recommend it to ANYONE. Red flags: - The manager (Louie) called back less than half a day later to insist that I pay the $100 deposit, since they were filling up fast. I said I'd think about it and call them back once I was at home. - Louie took my credit card info over the phone (in retrospect, was pretty risky/naive on my part) and seemed surprised when I asked for proof of deposit. He ended up texting me a picture of the receipt. - When I said I wanted the party to start at 6 PM, Louie responded, "7 PM - close better option." Umm, for whom? Likely because they didn't want us there during the dinner rush. I responded that I would like to stick with 6 PM, and they said OK. - When we arrived at the restaurant on the day of the event, promptly at 6 PM, there were THREE LARGE TABLES SEATED IN OUR PARTY ROOM. When we asked for Louie, he said that our party was not scheduled to start until 6:30 PM (!!). After I showed him the text exchange, he said he confirmed the 6:30 PM time with me when he called me the prior day. While he did call, there was no mention of a 6:30 PM start time. - My guests started arriving on time and filled up the party room. One of the large tables left and they finally asked another to move to a different part of the dining room at 6:30 PM, but not before my family members waited for 30 minutes in the hallway outside the party room. The third table remained. - While ushering guests into the party room, we overheard another party of ~30 people complain that they had to wait even though they had called ahead to make a reservation of the party room. - They did not offer any discounts or compensation for not having our party room ready on time (and still insisted that it was our fault for misremembering the time). After a bit of prodding, they discounted 2 adult buffets off the ~$1100 total. - And just when I thought the nightmare was over, they DOUBLE CHARGED ME FOR THE DEPOSIT. The total was ~$1127, they gave me a receipt for ~$1027 ($877 for food, $150 tip -- in Louie's handwriting), but ran the charge for $1127 anyway. - When I told Louie about this, he tried to get me accept $100 in gift certificates and blamed the cashier (though he was the one who ran the transaction). I responded that I would not be back and wanted my $100, and if he wouldn't refund me then I would submit a charge back through the credit card company. He then proceed to call me multiple times, over multiple days, from multiple different numbers until I finally got the $100 back through Chase. TL;DR: Do not book large parties at this restaurant. But if you must, ask for written proof, don't expect to be seated on time, and keep all receipts. read more

I came here on a Sunday and absolutely loved it. The location is great because it's next to the mall. Walking in, it was quite crowded, and I can see why. The food was pretty good. It's your typical Asian buffet; however, there's a larger variety than usual. The hibachi grill was really good. The chef was friendly, and he made it tasty. The sushi was pretty good, too, slightly bland, but overall, tasted great with condiments. Everything else tasted wonderful! The setting and environment were clean. I had a booth, and the waitress came every time to refill our drinks and remove our plates. The restroom was clean and had all of its necessities (soap, toilet paper, and paper towel) in place. The waitresses and waiters greeted us every time they passed by. What made me love this place so much is the guy, possibly the owner, who made me and my boyfriend feel so special. Not only did we retrieve the deal $10 for $15, but we received special care. I called the buffet prior to coming in, and this same guy picked up. He was so nice and funny. Then when meeting him, I knew it was him because of his voice and humor. He was funny, and the deal process went extremely smooth. He came back, asked for our names, and gave us a heart shaped paper rose. Needless to say, I enjoyed my time there. Food: 4.5/5 because I was expecting baked mussels. Grrrrrreat! I'm not a connoisseur of buffets but I've been to a handful in my lifetime. Most have greasy semi-warm food sitting under heat lamps for hours. China king buffet definitely did not fall into that bracket. The food was surprisingly fresh and delicious. The staff was constantly switching out the food in the buffet to a sure freshness whether or not the dish was empty. I tried a handful of Chinese restaurants in the Fort Worth area as well as mid cities. I've had zero luck finding a good Chinese restaurant but China king. Buffet is one of those things that some of us think about, even though we all know it's bad for our health and my ever expanding belly. OK, this time it was not my idea. It came from one of our colleague that got a coupon for 10% off and really wanted some of us to try it with her. As with typical Chinese buffet, it has the standard Mongolian bbq (make sure to tell the cook to take it easy on soy sauce), and the typical salad bar, soup, and everything in between. I tried several different items. If you are picky about meat, do not go here. The chicken was all very odd and super fatty (even for me - a person who prefers dark meat).
