The staff at Ashwood are friendly, caring, and attentive. Most importantly, though, is that they are incredibly patient. The are willing to work with those in need and offer any resources available to them. Coffee and snacks are provided daily and breaks are given on the hour. I attended this program from the end of 2016 untill the beginning of 2018. I attended for about a period of 16 or 18 months in total as I recall. Had monitored UAs through out. They never trusted me enough to stop monitoring me like they did with other clients. They said people with legal issues had that because courts often required it. I had no legal obligations to be at this center and was there completely voluntarily and therefore had no requirement to be monitored at all. But I wanted to keep attending so I let them monitor me throughout my entire stay there. So even with over a year and a half consecutive confirmed clean time- They denied me emdr therapy, time and time again while I saw my peers participating in that treatment and getting better. I was denied of it. Other people were considered stable and able to receive that therapy with as little as 60 days clean at times. The reasoning ashwood counselors gave me for why I was denied the therapy I needed to get better was that I was "unstable" for 2 reasons. 1- because I was stuck on step 3 in the 12 step based program because I hadn't been able to turn my will and my life over to something I was still desperately trying to gain understanding of. And 2- because my live in boyfriend smoked weed. Even though I had 18 months clean and was willing to continue staying clean despite my boyfriends choices. They made it clear as long as I stayed with him , I would be considered unstable , high risk for relapse, and wouldn't be allowed participate in the necessary therapy sessions I so desperately needed to heal from my past trauma. So unless your willing to turn your entire lives and your wills and dignity over to ashwood , I wouldn't attend here. I'd look someplace else guys. To be fair , I'd say they helped a lot of people. But only the clients they took a liking too. If you were someone different that didn't fit the profile they liked, you might be denied therapy and mistreated like I was. read more

History

Established in 2009.

We began as Ashwood Recovery in 2009, founded by people who knew the struggles of addiction firsthand. By addressing both the physical and psychological factors of their addiction, they uncovered the deeper causes of their substance use and found lasting recovery. This method became the basis of our treatment programs. In 2015, we evolved and expanded as Northpoint Recovery, gradually opening multiple adult facilities and adolescent sites across Idaho, Washington, Colorado, and Nebraska. While we honor our roots, we’ve grown from lived experience to evidence-based treatment, blending empathy with the latest in research and clinical care to help those struggling with addiction and mental health disorders reclaim their lives. We believe in the power of recovery and seek to help individuals heal, loved ones reconnect, and communities better understand the disorders we treat.

I attended NorthPoint Recovery before coming to Ashwood. The team made it a very smooth transition. I attend the program 3 days a week to learn more about addiction & be given the skills & tools to maintain sobriety in the future. This is a very safe environment to explore your addiction. After being discharged from impatient treatment I immediately entered Ashwood Recovery's PHP program have since progressed to IOP. The care provided here has been essential to maintaining my sobriety. They offer many services from family counseling to case management to individual therapy sessions. There is also a dual diagnosis aspect that deals with mental health and med management. The onsite psychiatrist is Dr. Weathers and he is awesome. I would definitely recommend Ashwood over any other outpatient facility in Boise. read more

I have tried a few different treatment centers, but I just wasn't ready to be sober. When I came to Ashwood I was willing to make a change in my life. He has pulled me out of the depths of hell by prescribing much needed medications and counsel. I have struggled with this disorder for 22 years. I've been under the care of 3 psychiatrists throughout that time and Dr. Belnap has been the best which is why I have stayed for so long. He is an excellent listener and sincerely cares about his patients. Psychiatrists are usually all about medication but Dr. Belnap goes above and beyond in truly listening to my concerns and advising when appropriate. I also see Jami Harris, a therapist at Bridgeway Health Services on a regular basis. She is a delight! So smart, compassionate, and wise. I'm amazed at how well she recalls all the details of my situation every time I show up, even though she has several clients. She is honest with me and sets me straight when I need it. I appreciate her compassionate candor. Other family members of mine see Kellee Crockett, a psychiatric PA there at Bridgeway Health Services. She too is an excellent provider who is very attentive to her patients and successfully helps them find relief from mental distress. The staff at Bridgeway Health Services have always been supportive and kind. I can't recommend Bridgeway Health Services enough. I would give them 10 stars if I could. They have given me my life back!!

I was really hesitant even after having a recommendation from a friend to check out Bridgeway. The…read morereviews are crazy poor. So I went treading lightly and being cynical. Checkin process: first appt, smooth. Aside from texts and emails about the appointment, I received a call two days prior to make sure I was set, if I had any questions. Being the beginning of the year I expected to pay somewhere along the lines of a few hundred (deductibles need to be met). Some of the reviews commented on being over charged, front staff not being forthcoming coming and deliberately over charging. First, it says in the paperwork that Bridgeway files claims as a courtesy and fees are between the patient and the business. I mean they REALLY stress that on the forms. So I did, get a weird feeling after the reviews. I asked the receptionist and she said two more visits and I knew my deductible will be met. I sat down, and another patient walks in about being overcharged. I was thinking to myself "oh my gosh the reviews are TRUE". Yikes. But,,,receptionist looked into it and said she needed to have the office manager look into as she is the one who handles this type of question. Maybe 5-10mins later the receptionist called the patient back up and said yes, you are due a refund. And took care of that. End of story. So although I'll be watching my claims and making sure the amount paid was the correct amount I was responsible for. But I felt that it was handled appropriately. I got good vibes with first impression after I left and was happy. Sigh of relief. Fast forward no less than 24hrs. My local pharmacy cannot attain a particular med. even if they did, my copay was gonna be $302. I called 5 mins before closing and they moved it to a big box chain pharmacy. After looking at my mail service again, it showed that big box chain pharmacy was gonna cost $211. I called the office again letting them know that my mail service (big box) pharmacy was only gonna charge me $30 for 3 months. I called again, unfortunately because it's a new med I couldn't get 90 days. However doc went over and above as did the staff who handles this part of patient care. I apologize for the long review but I do think it was necessary for everyone who's looking at this office for care that you get a honest up to date review. I will also be recommending this office as my friend did. Maybe staff has changed, maybe the office took a look at reviews and made changes. I don't know, but they exceeded my expectations and I know we will be in good hands.
