Now, aged late 20s, I have made my own successful career as a fund manager in the city of London in a very successful wealth management firm. In my relatively short time in the industry I have come across people who are woeful,just plain average but also those whom are first class...people that I will base myself off moving forwards. However, I unfortunately first met Robert Grattage as a recent orphan aged 12 having been introduced by advisers. I later learnt that Robert had taken the grand total of c. £10k of my £200k inheritance as commission.
That however..is 'fine' they are just the fees... Perhaps
But what is inexcusable, is that this is the last we heard of Robert for several years despite clipping a fee during the most tumultuous period that any body in recent times has ever known.
And now...in my position, in a supposedly 'similar' industry, knowing how things works,I am incensed that not only did he take advantage of my mother and I but that he did so little and did the square route of nothing
