I want to start by saying Dr. Grelle is an amazing doctor, but her office manager is a complete…read moreracist and lacks common customer service skills. I have been with Dr. Grelle for a few years since relocating from Seattle and have never experienced such rude and racist behavior from anyone in that office until a few months ago. I waited to post the review until I was able to retrieve all my medical records. I also requested on several occasions for a follow-up to speak with Dr. Grelle, but that never happened. I am unsure if she got the messages or not. However, the office manager is the reason I am no longer a patient there. I have never had a balance with Dr. Grelle, and I have wonderful insurance through my job at Microsoft. However, I was charged a prescription refill fee that I had never heard of, nor was it communicated to me when I called the office, inquiring why the pharmacy was still waiting to refill one of my regular medications. When I asked for an explanation, I was confronted by an unprofessional, rude and racist office manager who tried to make it seem like I could not afford $15. I was only inquiring and trying to understand because I had never been charged this fee. Instead, the office manager, who assumed that as a minority, I was broke. She lacked the empathy to have a decent and professional conversation with me. I will never pay the $15, and I have no plans of ever returning to that office. I have shared my experience with several others now that I feel comfortable doing so, and I pray that others stay away from this office. I will not tolerate anyone speaking to me in that matter and treating me with no respect. I hope Dr. Grelle finds someone else to run her operations because I am sure she has or will run others away.

When I was forced to visit his practice by a chronic and violent stomach condition i have battled…read morefor over 15 years, Dr. Tooson was unbelievably rude and gave me the distinct impression that he either didn't believe me (I am very young to be facing such chronic health problems) or just didn't care. I am very much inclined towards the latter, as I believe he saw my suffering and my daily pain as an opportunity for him to make money off of me and my insurance. Despite the fact that I was complaining of daily debilitating vomiting and diarrhea, Dr. Julius Dewayne Tooson did not make any recommendations regarding my diet, gave me nothing for my nausea or diarrhea (even though i made it very clear that this was a serious problem and that i react well to Ondansetron for my daily vomiting). Even though I specifically asked for any doctor other than Dewayne Tooson MD, an emergency forced me to seek the services of his practice, and much to my disappointment, I had to see the one doctor from their practice who I had heard bad things about. What I had heard regarding his unprofessional and generally unknowledgeable demeanor was spot on, seeing how Dr. Tooson did not make any effort whatsoever to treat my awful symptoms (most straightforward being my vomiting or diarrhea); instead he took the opportunity to profit off of my pain and abuse the doctor-patient relationship as well as his position at a reputable firm. After my operation, Dr. Tooson made no effort to let me know how it went, instead taking the opportunity to talk to my girlfriend while i was unconscious. Apparently, I had woken up during the procedure (i was supposed to be under adequate anesthesia), and must have had to be restrained (again, no one told me anything about what happened), but after my procedure I woke up with at least 8 new needle holes (despite my pipeline veins) and massive bruises on my arms and torso (I took pictures, some bruises are grapefruit-size, others are finger-shaped). Some time later, my condition worsened and I ended up in the emergency room due to the severity and intensity of my symptoms (vomiting blood and bile over 10x in a day). Much to my disappointment, the dr on call to preform the procedure i needed was none-other than the same guy whose neglect contributed to my worsening condition, Dr. Dewayne Tooson. After first bearing the disrespect of him making a joke of my awful situation, I told him I wanted to speak to one of his partners, because the level of dis-concern and unprofessionality he had demonstrated was completely uncalled for and his reputation had made me never want to see him in the first place. Instead of fulfilling my request to speak to one of the managing partners of his practice, Dr. Tooson immediately began taking steps to cover his own butt: instead of telling other doctors and nurses that i had requested to speak to one of his partners, he instead made it seem as though I had explicitly refused the services of their practice and falsely represented my desire to speak to a more professional and more senior partner from his practice. Apparently, he said that I refused the services of his practice, fired him, and also fired all the partners from his practice. This seemed very obviously an attempt to prevent his more senior partners from seeing me and realizing the horrid mistakes he had made regarding his lack of concern and lack of professionalism toward me, my girlfriend, and my debilitating stomach condition which had led me to seek his services and eventually end up hospitalized after an ER visit. It is absolutely disgusting that a doctor would be allowed to profit off of so explicitly disrespecting a patient, their health, and their desire to speak to a managing partner from his practice. How can he be allowed to profit off of deliberately attempting to prevent me from receiving medical care I needed? How can he be allowed to profit off of covering up the fact that I had raised concerns about his professionality and wished to receive an audience with his managing partners? Is he really allowed to just lie about me asking to speak to his partners, and just say that I refused their services? The worst part is, I sought the help of his firm because of a debilitating and life-changing progression in the severity of GI conditions I have battled for over 15 years, and this disrespectful jerk made a mockery out of it and made no effort to treat a single symptom. As I suspected, my condition worsened over the next two weeks and I ended up in the Emergency Room. When Dr. Tooson saw me in the hospital, despite the fact that his negligence may have very-well contributed to the worsening of my condition and my eventual hospitalization, he made a mockery out of the whole indecent and took steps to prevent me from being able to see a more senior doctor from his practice, effectively doing everything in his power to protect himself from having to answer for his unprofessionalism and neglect.

-Accused of trying to get drugs behind my back- Went to…read moreEmergi-Care a while ago for the first time cause I picked up a small cat and somehow threw my back out. This had never happened to me, as a younger man, so maybe I overreacted, but it kind of freaked me out, cause I suddenly became unable to move, just collapsed for a long while unable to get up. They took me into a room, where I told my story, and eventually heard the doctor talking with a nurse outside my room with my door closed. They said that the Patient in (My Room Number) is just trying to get free pills off of them and to just give me the pills I want to get off of and move on. They said it right outside my door, so I could hear, and insulted the person in "my room number" multiple times insinuating I was looking for drugs for more nefarious reasons. They eventually came back and acted all nice, giving me a prescription for pain pills. I just threw the prescription in their trash cause I would rather suffer than be accused of that.

I came in yesterday and had a mixed experience. The office staff was not friendly and slightly…read moreunprofessional, however the medical staff was great. The main situation starts with, they gave me some paperwork to fill out, it which had a consent to treatment form attached. I consented with the understanding that they would explain each procedure thoroughly, and its purpose. They at least mentioned every procedure before they preformed them except for one. It was the pregnancy test. When I got to the check out desk I was taken aback to see that they had actually done this test without my knowledge and charged me for it. They ended up waiving that particular charge. The person who was supposed to be checking me out didn't seem to know what she was doing, and was asking everyone else what she was supposed to be charging me for. I I hope I was charged for the correct procedures. I asked her what I was paying for when she finally figured it out. She mentioned the pregnancy test. I explained that I was unaware of them doing a pregnancy test on me. I was concerned that I hadn't been informed of this prior to it being done. She went and got her boss, whom I had to stand there and wait forever and a day for. She came to the checkout desk seeming somewhat defensive. This in turn put me on edge. Instead of handing me the consent form and allowing me to look over it, she shoved it in my face through the window. She explained that I had signed the form and therefore had consented to all treatment regardless. The issue there is that consent can be revoked. Consent is not a binding contract. I have a right to know about everything that's being done before it's preformed. I wonder if all women are given pregnancy tests now when they go to the doctor without their knowledge. I hope they have not started tracking women in Alabama yet. The government does not belong in the exam room with us.
