Cottage 4, Grandma's Attic, remains our favorite and now has a wonderful view of the lake with the addition of the full side of windows. Also this year we had a special need to adjust our rental time due to illness: Barb assured us we could stay the extra days and found space even though it was the beginning of June.

My family has gone here over the years and when it came time for my sisters bachelorette party this was on the list to check off. After doing some digging I discovered that they had the options to fit a party of our size and the cost didn't break the bank. We stayed in Cabin 14 and I can speak that the cabin has been completely redone (not because of us). I had the opportunity to see some of the recently remodeled cabins and they are excellent! The owners of the property are fantastic! They are so warm and welcoming! Only downside is there isn't really a beach, the shoreline is rocks so there wasn't really a space to get into the water.

Back then a good resort cabin was one where the screens weren't ripped and the screen door closed to keep the misquotes at bay. Boy things have changed. Scott and Beth's Otter Tail Beach Resort is nothing at all like those resorts of my childhood. I stayed in one of the smaller cabins and it was modern, clean, and very functional. There was a nice complete kitchen area, a TV, and a nice shower right in the cabin. The woodwork and detail was awesome. In some ways the cabin was nicer then my house. When I'm in the area again, I will definitely stay here.

NASTY! - "Creek" is nothing more than a drainage ditch…read morefilled with overgrown weeds. - This place rents out to college kids by the month during the winter so it's pretty gross. - Website neglects to tell you about the absolute gross slum RV trailer park pushed right up behind the smaller cabins. Packed in so tight it's a wonder they can even open their doors. - No WiFi....unless you open a personal acct. with the the local provider. - 2X more expensive than ANY surrounding resort. LOTS of additional fees, even for someone stopping by to say "hello" Overall, wouldn't stay here again even if it was free.

We were all stunned to see the interior of the place due to the modern design of the cabin. All cabins are full equipped with household items and a kitchen. Two rooms on the main level with queen beds and the loft has two double beds. The cabin can easily accommodate 8-9 people. As for outside, the view is amazing!! Equipped with a charcoal grill, log fire pit (logs were $5 a bundle), picnic table, patio table & chairs. Each cabin comes with their own aluminum fishing boat with oars but we were able to upgrade to add a motor for $45 a day. They also have a fishing pontoons available for $150/day. Our cabin is right next to the small sandy beach where they had a water trampoline, swim raft and water slide. Great place to go fishing. Outside of the rental office there's a gut house for those who want to clean their fishes. It is highly recommended to clean your fishes here to avoid all of the mess in the nice cabins. We've chatted with the owner, Greg. He is pretty cool. We would love to come back for another get together!

Very Disappointed - Camp site is extreme rip off!!…read more My family and I purchased a week for this summer at the scenic point resort. We made this purchase during an home and garden show last winter. We met the owners at this show and they sold us a bunch of smoke and mirrors. Once we arrived we were told that our hand pick out cabin that I put a $400 deposit on was changed. The owner told me it would be an upgrade for me with no charge. The big selling point from the owner was that it was bigger. Once we entered we notice that It came with a second floor, that was no benefit to me because there was only 3 of us. We also notice that the furniture was extremely warn all though out this cabin very uncomfortable, the couch had a large piece plywood underneath the seat, made it feel like you were sitting on cement blocks. All bedding in all rooms were extremely dirty smelled like fish. I called prior to coming to verify that there were TV's and wifi in our cabin, so we could watch the NBA finals. The owner told me that there were two TV's in this cabin one would be a new 40 inch TV and there would also be WiFi. There was only one TV it was a 20 year old 13" TV and no WiFi. The big kicker for my family was that we were told by the owners prior to putting a deposit on this cabin that we would be able to rent Jet Ski's for my son to enjoy. Once arrived we were inform by the owners that they don't rent Jet Ski's to much of a liability for them but they would try to find a company that does. The never responded back to us, My family and I spent the next day driving around and calling other companies to rent Jet Skis with no luck. The website is very deceiving it suggest that you can hang out in there fancy Lodge along with Jet Ski's rentals and its real cool but it doesn't exists, its actually a home were there owners live. If you have any teenagers there is no volley ball court or basketball court or any activities for them to do . The cabins our extremely warn down and dirty. Nothing is provided. No bath towels or dish cloths.No laundry facilities. All out door furniture i.e. chairs were destroyed along with the grill. When settling my bill 2 days early I was charged over $200 extra then what was agreed upon for having a small pet. And as for the boat that we paid extra for was a old pontoon boat that my grand daughter could swim faster then the boat would go. Was in need of some serious work, it took no less then 20 attempts to start this boat. We were told that this boat could pull and inter tube and ski. The lake was nice but again was the smallest lake in its area. There were several other camps in the surrounding area. They are all updated with Wi/Fi and regularly boats with golf courses. If your planning on spending $1600 and above I recommend a different place.

We have been coming to Scenic Point in Clitherall MN for years. It is not a five star place to stay…read moreby any means but we love the serenity, surroundings, fellow guests and the owners. This is what life is all about. We love it here and now that we are retired, we plan to stay here most of the summer. We stay for 2 weeks in a cabin and the other weeks on our motor home camping. Fishing is what it's all about here.

Giving credit, where credit is due, the staff came immediately to clean the bathroom, after I trudged down to the office to request this service. The property is poorly maintained, a couple of roofs obviously sagging, hose, mower and broken stepstool laying around by the fish cleaning house all week long. The inside pine work on the walls was shoddy as was the caulking around the shower etc. The office/store only sells sweatshirts, hats and fuel for the boats. No grocery items of any kind, not even a snack vending machine. . Our group rented two cabins . Not once during the entire week's stay did any of the staff come to find out if we needed anything, if we were comfortable..... They also never serviced the cabins. Not once! Nor did any of the staff nor the proprietors give any of us a "thank you" for renting from them - not even when we checked out. After all common courtesy goes a long way, but that was missing as well. I did not feel welcomed and I will not be returning there - definitely did not get my moneys worth .. This Sandbay Resort of today is a far cry from the beautiful and well kept resort of fifteen years ago. There are many gorgeous resorts around that area, better maintained, better furnished -including towels which were not provided here - and less expensive.

Very clean cabins, great service,clear and sandy water, and just a great value money wise to take a family. We all cross out the calendar until the next visit.
