I had the opportunity to assist/tag-along for Peter & Kerilyn's e-session (engagement session) in DC with photographer, Michael Smith of Ash Imagery.
The e-session started off down by the Tidal Basin/FDR Memorial and moved along to Arlington (Pho 75 for lunch) and then finished off in Old Town. Along the way, I was able to see first-hand how innovative and creative Michael is as a photographer. At each stop, Michael would survey the area and then conceptualize the photo as he saw fit and had Peter and Kerilyn act/do (basically kiss) to capture the perfect shot.
It sounds cheesy but as an aspiring photographer, I found the time spent with him to be quite inspiring. (Which is funny because the tagline on his website is "Will you inspire me?") He's such a chill guy who's super fun to hang out with and a great sport for entertaining the countless photography questions I threw at him. He is a Nikon shooter while I am an avid Canon user. This caused some "friendly" banter but he was still nice enough to show me how to use my external flash in manual mode.
If you're looking for something fresh, artistic and unique, then you need book Ash Imagery to photograph your next life milestone. You will fall in love with Michael's work when you look through his website, blog and flickr photostream.
