I have only had two problems when going to Asgards. The first problem, was a piercing problem. I went to go get my cheeks pierced at asgards and was really looking forward to getting them done. I had to wait around 20 minutes because there was a waiting list, but that didnt bother me it was packed. After my name was called i went in to one of the piercing rooms with a female she was friendly enough and i didnt have a problem with her doing the piercing. I was happy with the sterilization of the equitiment. She pierced my right cheek and put through this long tube (it must have been about 8mm long) she then did the same with the left. The problem was that the bars were far too long! The bars were so long that both were sat at the back of my throat i started choking. I tried explaining (it was very difficult) to the lady that i was choking and asked if she could cut the tubes. She replied The bars need to be long for swelling I continued to tell her that the bars needed to be cut, i was having trouble breathing. She refused and moved me on ( I'm presuming because it was so busy) . I left the shop and went to the nearest piercing parlour i could find (rebellion) . I went to the man at the desk and asked him if he could cut the bars. He looked at me horrified and told me that the tubes were nearly up to the length of my ears. He couldnt believe it. He told me the bars should have been a lot shorter (by 4mm at least) and that the only way to shorten the tubes were to cut them down, that would involve taking the tubes out, which he refused to do. All in all i had to take both piercings out 2 hours after getting it done (i also got lots of looks on the bus home). £35 wasted. The second issue i have had with Asgards is to do with a tattoo . I got a tattoo not that long ago by an apprnetice at asgards. Id seen his work and was happy, also it was half price. The apprentice quoted me £75 for my tattoo and i was happy with thatthe tattoo was 6mm in length. On the day of getting the tattoo i arrived on time, but none of the equitment was set up, 20 minutes had gone in to my 2 hour session. He started to tattoo , he was very quiet and didnt make much conversation , but that didnt bother me i presume he was just concentrating. After an hour in , he had only lined 3/4 of my tattoo . I asked him whether it would be done in the next hour and he seemed confident it would be ( He still had shading and full colour to do yet). We proceeded and i could see it was not going to be finished he was working extremely slow! 2 hours went past and his next appionment arrived, i was left with a half finished tattoo. A lady came in and told me i would have to have it finished in two weeks time , that didnt bother, but then she said i would have to pay another £25!!!! so .The apprentice hadn't set up any equitment, 20 Minutes went in to my 2 hour session Why weren't they orginised? .The tattoo apprentice was very slow, tattooing one small line took 2 minutes at a time .I was quoted £75 for the full tattoo they knew the size, they said the price why was i paying more? Never ever visit Asgard for a piercing, especially a dermal anchor. I visited Asgard last Saturday after thinking about having a dermal anchor n my wrist for a while. I spoke to two guys at reception who weren't very forthcoming with information about the piercing but as I have had a few piercings I stupidly didn't press them for more info/advice and decided to go ahead. I was called in by a girl who then proceeded to pierce my left wrist which then bled profusely and wouldn't stop for about 5 minutes. Alarm bells should have gone off but as I have never had this type of piercing before I assumed it was normal for this to happen and went on to have my right wrist pierced after reminding the girl that she had forgotten to apply the freeze spray. The second one didn't bleed at all and I left the shop happy enough (although the guys on reception aren't the friendliest) with two wrist dermals. However, 3 hours later my left wrist swelled up considerably so I took some Ibuprofen to help it go down. The next day I had a large dark blue bruise from my wrist up to my hand but again, after researching dermal piercings online it seemed normal to have some bruising. But about 6 days later I was still in pain with my left wrist so I went to a piercer in Surrey who was absolutely horrified about how much bruising was surrounding the piercing and told me that it had to be taken out. When she took it out it was revealed that Aisha at Asgard (A trainee who was not accompanied I only found out that she was a trainee after the event) had actually pierced through my vein. Thankfully it didn't bleed too much as I would have had to visit my local A&E to have my vein quarterised! Needless to say I have made a complaint to Southampton City Council as trainees should not be piercing on their own let alone be allowed to do dermal anchors by themselves. So if you are thinking about getting a piercing other than your ear lobes please..DO NOT GO TO ASGARD! read more

I called into the shop today to ask for a price on a tattoo. I was with my partner at the time and we could not believe what we were were listening to! I approached one of your male staff, and produced a picture of what I wanted, the image was as attached, the response took my breath away the young man pretty much ignored me, looked at my girlfriend and said I suppose this is for you? When I replied that it was for me (although my girlfriend said she would like similar) he looked at me as if I was some sort of alien and said are you sure? When I confirmed that I was, he again repeated himself asking if I was sure. I replied that I was again. He then said "it's an extremely girly tattoo, are you sure that it is what you want?" whilst continuing to stare at me as if I was mad. I was starting to become very angry at this point, as well as extremely offended, but I remained polite, informing him that I was perfectly well aware of what the picture is and that I also know my own mind. Eventually he gave me a price. What gives your staff the right to judge when somebody requests something, whatever they may think? As mentioned above, I found this whole incident deeply offending and, actually, quite upsetting. My husband had two tattoos done here as have I and have been very pleased with the outcome. The only thing I would say is they were not very forthright with advice and you really had to know 100% what you wanted. However one of the tattoos my husband has was absolutely amazing and I would go back to them. read more

I have just had another tattoo here and two friends of mine have both had their tattoos done here too. All of them look amazing and the staff are really nice. Also had a piercing done here and have had no problems with that either. Staff always happy to answer any questions; no matter how trivial. read more
