When I first hired Reed, he "seemed" knowledgable, attentive and nice (this was not to be the case). He agreed to help with my company's design, permitting, inspections, dealing with the health department, ordering equipment, business plan execution etc. In my experience with Reed, he was not only incredibly unprofessional but his incompetence with permit processing delayed my restaurant an extra 8 months! His lack of knowledge and professionalism has cost me immense time and money. Reed also FAILED to advise us on what was to be done in regards to proper restaurant codes and requirements (keep in mind he charged my company a consulting fee of $10,000). It wasn't until Reed received my money, that he became dismissive and VERY difficult to get a hold of. In fact, I was required to only speak to his "assistant" Paul Torres, who I found to be unbelievably rude. It became impossible to get a hold of Scott. He was always "in a meeting" or "with other clients"...never willing to deal with the issues I came across when it came to opening my new business. He used his other company "Restaurant Asset & Design" to order all the equipment for my restaurant, tacking on more money for himself. Charged my company $5,600 for a custom sneeze guard and the cost was less than $2,000 It has now been 15 months since hiring Reed and my restaurant is STILL not open. A process that should have only taken 5 Months for a restaurant of this size (800sf). I am losing money daily with the delay my restaurant has gone through. Reed has done nothing to help "consult" me through the process but continue to be unreachable. Hiring Reed was the biggest mistake I made. At this point there is nothing I can do but hope no one has to go through what I have with Scott Reed Restaurant Consulting. I DO NOT recommend working with Reed. I hope this review was helpful...I would consider a different consultant for your future endeavor.
