If you're looking for petrol in 'downtown' Llandudno these days you have a choice of two places, either Asda or LSP on Mostyn Broadway. If your main consideration is price then Asda wins everytime. Their prices are always at least a couple of pence a litre cheaper than LSP and often more than that.
However there are some drawbacks with going to Asda. Firstly because the filling station is located on the shop car park you need to negotiate the busiest junction in town to get to it. Not always a problem but at peak shopping times you can expect a bit of queuing before you even get there.
Secondly this is a pay at the pump only station. If you're not sure about chip and pin, or want to pay by cash, you'll need to look elsewhere. This means there's also no shop but there is a massive superstore just across the carpark.
The third problem is the layout. There are only eight pumps available and if like me you need diesel you'll find that only half of these offer diesel. This can mean a bit of waiting for a suitable pump to become available. In fact you may have to wait anyway because the forecourt is so cramped that you can't pass cars to reach empty pumps at the far side so you may well find yourself having to queue even if half the pumps are free. A passing lane down the middle would be a great help but there's no room for one.
All in all Asda generally offer the best prices in the area, the only real competition locally being Tesco in Llandudno Junction and Shell Black Cat at Glan Conwy Corner, but a larger area and better layout would improve the filling station enormously. read more
