8:00 is when dinner starts, which is late to me. Anyways, the place was pretty busy. Most customers were at the bar drinking. Be aware that service is on the slow side. We were given crusty bread, which was better than expected. We ordered coppa and croquettes as appetizers. The coppa was great and the croquettes were creamy. Our first main was pig tripe and noses in Biscay sauce. The flavor was good, but I saw some tiny hairs on a few of the pieces. The portion was small and I was worried the second main was going to be small as well. Thankfully, the oxtail was more substantial. They were meaty and tender. Overall, I left happy. read more

This restaurant was recommended by our tour guide. So we got reservations for 8 o'clock. That's the earliest we could go. There were four of us and we shared this humongous steak. It was cooked perfectly for all of us, came with french fries and we got some really good crusty bread. We shared a salad, which was also pretty tasty. One couple had their cheesecake and it was different than in the United States. It also came with some ice cream. I got a sorbet with champagne and it was more like a drink than sorbet. I went here on the recommendation of the Where Chefs Eat app/book. Per reviews I found online, I ordered the Chuleta which was translated as T-bone on the menu (probably Google translate) or others have called it a ribeye. You can see by the picture, it is neither. I am not entirely sure what cut that is. It is perfectly grilled between rare and medium rare (if they asked how I wanted it done, I couldn't understand) seasoned with just salt and served with french fries. I was also served bread without asking which I noticed I was charged separately for when the check came. The steak was quite good and large though I suspect not the kg indicated in the menu (unless that's pre-cooking or fat trimming weight). There is some connected inner tissue as to be expected with a cut this large and prepared without sous vide. They charged my credit card in USD instead of EUR without asking which adds a 3% currency surcharge over wholesale rate. BTW Google Maps has this restaurant by name in 2 places with the name transposed and both are wrong. I'll submit an edit, but I don't have many good experiences with google fixing these things in a timely manner). A good alternative to the more regional food I have been eating this trip. read more
