The owners are warm and friendly and very accommodating as they got our baby in at the last minute when the previous dog reservation fell through. The kennel was clean and neat and process is very organized. Animals are picked up and dropped off at appointed times which is great. My dog came out clean and happy but ready to go home. They also provided very personalized touches.. When I picked my baby I was given a framed photo of her stay, report card and a tote bag with her food and medication that I had left with them. However, be aware that they require…read morevaccinations beyond what is required by the state and other boarding facilities (leptospirosis, which is an optional vax that our MI vet doesn't recommend beyond puppy round). That may be a plus for some, but it was a nuisance for us and resulted in our reservations being cancelled when we went to drop off and us being left without a boarding solution. Our dogs had successfully boarded multiple times at other NY and MI kennels with the standard vaccines, including the week previously at a different kennel in upstate NY. This miscommunication could have been avoided if Paw Prints had email so we could have sent our vaccine records ahead of time and discovered the discrepancy, vs finding out when we arrived. I would recommend that they revisit their vax policy to be in line with other facilities and general expectations, or at the very least invest in website/email in order to communicate that their requirements differ from other boarding facilities. When we spoke on the phone we discussed Rabies, DA2P, and bordetella but I do not recall them mentioning a requirement for lepto-- again, email/web communication would have avoided this negative experience.

Our dog was blindsided by another dog and sustained what we now know was a neck injury that led to surgery later in the week at Cornell. Dr. James Gilchrist was there waiting for us at 11 p.m. on a Saturday night as we carried our girl in, unsure why her eyes were beat red, her breathing was heavy and she was unable to stand. He did a great job of stabilizing her and kept her overnight. When she was unable to stand the next day he recommended she needed an MRI. As we waited the painfully long 48 hours to get an MRI for Apple, Dr. Gilchrist and his team took care of our dog and even came to open up at 3:30 in the morning due to the early morning MRI in Rochester. Our dog is now on the mend and going through a few more weeks of crate rest and at-home physical therapy as she recovers from a disc injury. While the care she received down at Cornell for the surgery was top-notch, our longest-lasting memory about how our dog was given the chance to walk again will always be the emergency care that Dr. Gilchrist provided, all at fair prices.

I called WVC to ask if we could have his glaucoma medication filled by their pharmacy because we are in an emergency situation. Their client service representative refused, telling me both that they have no capacity for new clients, and that they refuse to fill a prescription from another doctor. She was inflexible, insensitive, rude and dismissive, and she hung up on me when I was trying to make a final suggestion. And to top it off, all this happened after waiting on hold on the phone for over ten minutes, she dismissed my comment that I had already waited ten minutes, and put me on hold again. My family have been clients of this practice since the 1980s. I am so disappointed and angry. They don't deserve to care for our animals if this is the way they treat their family members.

After making many calls to local and out of the area veterinary offices, we scored and got an appointment with Dr.Cassandra Thomas. We were in and out in 15 minutes. Dr Thomas was welcoming, professional and very caring for our dear Sweetie. Making all the calls was discouraging finding out most offices are not taking new patients. Dr. Thomas understands this problem and welcomed us. We are so happy she did. If in the area, we definitely will be back.

I did call and also made a follow up appointment for one of the dogs with concerns I had, I was basically dismissed at the follow up appointment and my phone calls were ignored.. I had no other choice but to bring my one dog to a different veterinary for a follow up care. I was informed that the previous vet did not preform what was said on my discharge paperwork. Being charged for services that did not occur is unacceptable , especially when it involves anesthesia and invasive care. They had my dogs for over 7 hours claiming they had emergency's that came in. Not knowing what happened with my dogs is very concerning to me.

Our dogs have been seeing him for well over 13 years. He takes his time with our dogs and provides them with the care they need.
