Excellent hotel selection if you want to stay on 5th Avenue. The rooms are spacious and newly remodeled. My room had a jacuzzi tub and a separate double-headed walk-in shower. Coffee is only provided for the first day, so if you're a coffee drinker like me, you need to make alternative arrangements (I brought my own coffee & filter). The hotel is not on the beach, but it's only a 10 minute walk away. Being on 5th Avenue was amazing! Plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, galleries, etc. I walked the full length of the Avenue almost every night. Salciccium Class is the restaurant downstairs where breakfast was served. This was included with my stay and consisted of an omelette prepared to order, juice, coffee and fruit. The restaurant is also a great place to have a drink before you head up to your room after a full day. I was on the top floor with a balcony facing 5th Avenue - It had a view, but could be a little noisy with the music from downstairs. This doesn't bother me, but if it bothers you, you should probably ask for a room in the back. The rooftop pool was fun to have as an option, but there's so much to do and see in Playa del Carmen, it's rarely ever used. I was the only person the few times I was up there. read more
