If you haven't seen a modern church lately we can only say it's not your grandparents or even your mom & dad's church no matter what age you are. There is a large parking lot which curls around the back. Inside the chapel is spacious and airy with a modern art style wall decoration, closed circuit screens to see the mass better for those in the rear. Many colors and artistic styles of decorating. They must have hired a big time consultant to create this building of beauty, obviously to attract younger people who have been waning from churches in past decades. The all purpose room is huge and there is a professional type kitchen and everything leads to a large commons area.

My experience at Holy Cross was one of the main reasons I left the Roman religion in favor of…read moreChristianity. When I came here I was going through a terrible time as a single father in poverty. I had gone through the hell of having children aborted against my will, divorce, and watching my precious family crumble. I thought that Catholicism would be a place of boundless love like I read about in the Bible, so I entered RCIA here. I also thought that I would receive the support I needed to care for what was left of my family and hopefully someday rebuild another one so I could have more children and adopt orphans to reflect God's love towards them. I begged the "priests" for help and in return I was told by "priests" I am not worth his time and that I am not welcome here because I was going through a difficult time in my life. I thought it would be like the story of the Prodigal Son returning to the Father. I fully expected to be met with love and peace, but instead I was brutalized and abused mentally, emotionally, and spiritually by "priests" and parishioners. I also thought that it was apostolic where everyone lived like the apostles and worked together for God's glory to bless the poor and save sinners, so I worked for free for parishioners and gave any money I could to benefit my neighbors, the poor, and the church. In return, there was only judgement, hatred, and abuse. There was precious little love here and the only mercy I saw was a picture on the wall. For instance, I was told by one of their parishioners: "do not even look at the urban poor, they are cursed by God. Let them perish." To be fair, a "priest" did return some of my tithe money when I complained about the lack of love and mercy. But I was not searching for money! I was searching for the love of God! Fortunately, there is love, beauty, and mercy in the Protestant, Christian faith and all I can recommend to anyone experiencing the loneliness, isolation, abuse, and Phariseeism of Catholicism is to get out yesterday. You're not alone! There is hope and God's power outside of Catholicism! I think the problem with Holy Cross is that it focuses on propping up historically arbitrary traditions rather than focusing on blessing the repentant sinner by any means necessary. Hopefully they can figure things out and be a beacon of hope to their community. All is forgiven. Many prayers and blessings your way! God has already more than healed me from the damage inflicted upon me and my family by the Pharisees of Catholicism. Christ has freed me from Catholicism! I am a beloved child of God!

We're both Christian and Gay, and it's hard to find churches out there that accept us for who we are, we go to Eagle Brook and Hope Church currently now. Saying that God wants us to HATE pretty much everyone is gross, God wants us to LOVE all no matter what the situation is. So please please beware if you're apart of the LGBTQ+ community before trying out this church.

It really should not make the cut by yelp. On the other hand, we've attended the church for 15 years. They have great youth programs, and teen programs. Church camps in the summer. Great music program, both contemporary and traditional. Community outreach. On top of that, their facility has showcased local concerts, orchestra, and even been available for simple things like Cub Scouts, girl scout meetings, Sport dinners, even funerals for nonmembers, etc. Though not perfect (which church is?), many have found a home here.
