Terrible experience! I am a professional Artist, Designer from the west who is internationally published. I visited this location twice, once to price out a large list of items I needed for an upcoming exposition. My second visit was to make my purchase. During my second visit I encountered the female sales person whose hurried and hostile attitude made for a very unpleasant shopping experience. I knew exactly what I needed to buy for my work.
During my visit I explained to the female sales person that my choices were NOT motivated by price but by what I Needed as dictated by my list of art supplies held in hand. I explained this about 4 times to the sales woman! I simply wanted to be left alone while I shopped. Though I appreciated the suggestions from the female staff member. I explained more than once that I was aware of the product lines being considered and was not seeking the "cheapest" items as it was being continuously suggested to me.
Despite this I was subjected to what I felt was unkind behavior and a general bad attitude from the sales person. I do not know what the issue was however my patience ran out when I was told that "others" (or me I assume) would select art items that "they " (or I) may not be prepared to pay for. I perceived this as an indirect insult. To suggest or indirectly suggest that I was out to steal or would not pay for my art supplies was highly offensive. This I also felt was also sort of borderline racist to me. i certainly could feel that sort of hostility from the female sales person.
I should also mention that I never completed my shopping. I just wanted to be done with the nonsense and be out of that store.
It seems like they may have some personal issues. However their issues are NOT my issue. I can not recommend this place and I would suggest foreigners specifically be aware that their staff may have harbor negative views of various ethnic people. You may be subjected the same kind of treatment I received no matter if you explain your intent or not.
I would suggest that they take time to review their customer service methods and work towards improving the quality of it. read more
