That response alone was both unprofessional and concerning. I had a sensitive and unique issue that could only be addressed by a CPA. But not just any CPA, I needed someone that was knowledgeable and would be able to defend their work in case of an audit. After searching around, I came across Ahad & Co and what a relief and blessing they are. I simply called them, explained my issue, then I was connected with one of their professionals. The CPA confirmed that it was something they could tackle and we began the process. At the time, I was working with Tarikur, an absolute treasure to work with! He explained what needed to be done, asked all pertinent questions, and guided me thru the process. In the end, I came back with an awesome refund, and greater than that, I had a peace of mind with regard to my situation. Fast forward to 2026, I did not hesitate to have them prepare my taxes again. Unfortunately, Tarikur is no longer there, but I was assisted by Akram. There were some delays but he completed my taxes before the deadline and his did a great job preparing everything. I found it very easy to review my return and understand his rationale for his preparation. Furthermore, I received a great return again and I could not be more pleased! Aside from my experience with the staff, I really appreciate their customer portal. There is no need to email anything because you can upload all of your documents to their secure portal. You can also chat with your rep, pay your invoices, and download your returns, all in one place. I especially appreciated that as a returning customer, all my documents were there, so Akram was able to see what was done last year. Super efficient! In terms of pricing, they will seem high if you are used to doing your own taxes or maybe you've gone to a local tax preparer. However, it's important to understand that these are true tax experts who can navigate any situation, so you're in good hands. If you are dealing with a sensitive tax situation and want a peace of mind, I highly recommend using them. I reached out to them months later inquiring about the filing for another matter and they casually informed me they never filed them. They offered plenty of excuses, blamed me for filing them within the legal submission parameters (i.e. on/by April 15th), and offered zero compensation for their egregious error. They actually proceeded to charge me the full amount to file and even expected me to pay the late-filing & extension fees that I incurred as a direct and sole result of an accounting firm's inability to file taxes! Every single representative I have dealt with is allergic to accountability and deals exclusively in excuses. Shameful and unprofessional behavior all around... especially from Edderkys Gonzalez and the ceo, Ahad Ali. He is full of excuses all while admitting they screwed up. They offered $100 off of preparation service for this year...I immediately declined. Then they offered $200 off and I immediately declined. That is a fraction of what they cost me already from last year in late penalties alone and the ceo told me the absolute most he could discount tax preparation at his own company was $200. Clearly a lie. He's the ceo of a small, private, company...not the ceo of Goldman Sachs.

I made countless calls and emails trying to just get confirmation that the taxes would be handled and filed with no response. When I emailed the accountant to let them know I did not need or want his services he responded immediately with an excuse and had the nerve to say he could still file my taxes (a day before the deadline). This behavior is absolutely reckless and unprofessional and shouldn't be tolerated w such sensitive and personal information and such an important issue. They're messing with people's lives and run the risk of making people have to file for an extension and accrue penalties. If you can't take on a customer and are overloaded then let them know so they can make other arrangements instead of stringing them along. This is no way to treat a customer.

Save yourself $1500+ and go to H&R block because the outcome will be the EXACT same, except you'll be done in 2 hours rather than 4+ months and pay $500. H&R block will also do the actual work for you in front of you rather than you needing to do Excel sheets and use a 1990s-style portal to upload YOUR work and NEVER meet a human once. Why is this acceptable and 2k? We had a unique tax issue and despite the fee, the answer was call the IRS. Isn't that what they are supposed to do? We should have known when they were pushing for us to do an extension from day 1 when we NEVER needed one before them. All it did was create unnecessary stress and prolong the torture by 4 more months. The amount of back and forth for things that could have been done and handled in person was quite unbelievable. As part of the outageous fee, they were supposed to go over last year return to make sure we got the best return, but either they never did it or H&R Block did a great job to begin with (which I believe is the latter). All in all, this was $1800 down the drain and almost 9 months of absolutely unnecessary waste of time and money to not have any quality help and better outcome than the chain places. When I told friends and coworkers the amount we were charged, they thought it was plain outrageous. When I told them the time and outcome, they thought it was plain insanity. They were right on both. Should you still choose torture, make sure you download your tax by November 30th as it will be gone and they will CHARGE you for your OWN return.
