Mysore masala dosa

Easy ordering and food was ready on time. Dosa was fantastic, the best I've had in a long time. Other dishes were very good. Definitely the best indian food in the area.

The place is great for lunch with the buffet option. The buffet is one of the best I have seen and has great, flavorful meat and vegetarian options. Took a bunch of people to dinner since lunch had been a good experience repeatedly. Not a good idea. The biryanis were bland and buried in oil. Aaked for it spicy and it came out lacking any pepper. The navratran korma was okay, the butter chicken was very good and consistent, the papdi chat was okay - missing all the yogurt sauce that typically comes with it. We skipped dessert after the dinner. Stick to just lunch - better luck that way.

Notice the blue light from the kitchen bug zapper. Kept us laughing every time it went off.

Let me start out by saying the food here was amazing! It's byob and we brought a nice bottle of white wine and it matched our meal perfectly. We ordered our standard fare plus tried some new items. We asked their opinion on the goat curry and they said "oh that has bones" so we said ok then we'll get a different one and they replied "they all have bones" - ha ok then we'll just take the original one we asked about. It was really good and the bones weren't an issue. We also tried malai kofta for the first time and it will easily become part of my standard fare. Delish!!! My only reservation is the fact that there is a bug zapper in the kitchen. I couldn't decide if I was happy because then it's killing any bugs or gross you need it because you have bugs. It kept us laughing for sure because you can hear it zap the bugs which provides for an interesting atmosphere. Regardless it's the best Indian food I've had in NJ so I'll be back.

Onam Sadya (traditional vegetarian feast)
Arshi K.

This traditional Kerala restaurant serves authentic food from the famous coastal region of India known as God's Own Country. Today is Onam, a festival in which the entire community comes to celebrate and a feast called the 'Sadhya' is served on a banana leaf. Aroma did away with the leaf...but served the feast in full measure and what a feast it was!!! The feast is vegetarian and there was a line out of the door to sample it! There were at least 15 different vegetables and curries, different varieties of pickle and three types of sweets! Absolutely delicious, fresh and served with love. The base for most is coconut, leafy greens and root vegetables with mild spices. Delicious! We'll be back on different day to sample their regular menu but this was an amazing experience.

I'm uncertain how I learned about this gem. We have grown tired of the several Indian restaurants we patronize. Neelam, Poojah, Red Pepper. It was time for something new. My wife and I have had a lot of Indian food over the years. Our favorite spot is in Nairobi. Too far to travel. Aroma will do nicely for the forseeable future. We ordered a lot of food. Two shrimp appatizers, long chili pepper curry, an eggplant dish, sag paneer, yellow lentils. Everything spicy, please. We loved almost everything we tried. The chili pepper curry may rank in the best five Indian dishes I have had anywhere. Only the bread and the indian pickle fell short. I ordered aloo paratha but what I received was much like roti, brushed with ghee. It wasn't stuffed with potatoes as I expected. And the pickle, while spicy, was mostly carrots, not a variety of vegetables as we receive in other restaurants. That said, we can't wait to try the rest of the menu. We'll be back soon.

Inconsistent. Last time was too salty (and I love salt!) and spicy when asked for mild but when…read moreit's good, it's great! Also, this place has a real issue with time: The one occasion we dined there we sat at the table for over an hour after ordering, waiting. All the while Uber eats etc drivers were gathering and standing, hovering in the dining area waiting too with some were getting downright uncouth. Not a pleasant experience. I can understand why some restaurants won't deal with these drivers at all. At least the employees maintained decorum. My tip: order and pickup but wait a half hour longer than they tell you. Sticky floors and a noticeable odor hit you at the entrance. Hopefully, they'll clean it instead of just hiding it under a rug

The door in the back is just a solid white door with no glass or any way to see in but trust me it takes you into the restaurant For apps we had the pakora basket. It came with a samosa and beetroot tikki as well. The samosa was great and the beetroot tikki had promise but was a little free with the fennel seeds. The spinach pakora - please just offer me this by the basketful! The rest of the pakora (caulflower, onion and potato) were good but after a few we had our share of besan. Also to start was the lasooni gobhi 65. Our son is selectively spice-averse so we asked for the sauce on the side. The cauliflower was fried in what seemed like a thinner besan (chickpea) batter and was red. While it was piping hot, I did not find it too crispy and the sauce in the bowl on the side lacked that garlic oomph. No worries at least the kid loved it. The Paneer Tikka was next. This is where the flavor resides! One of the best paneer tikkas we have had. Edges slightly crisp and flavor still intact with a soft paneer. No cheating with the torch like some restaurants do. Star of the night. Vegetable Jalfrezi - Packed with fresh veggies, savory flavor and not cut with potatoes. This is was blanketed with the tandoori roti we ordered. We will be back, and next time I am heading straight to the same mains we ordered. The food comes out hot and fast, so be ready!

My sister and I do not mind having some Indian cuisine every so often and this one is close to home so we thought why not give it a try. We came here on a Sunday evening around 6:00pm. The restaurant was empty and for some people an empty restaurant can be a bad sign but for us it turned out to be a good sign. We were greeted when we walked in and seated right away. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and attentive which I love because I love a restaurant that is welcoming. For an appetizer my sister and I shared the goat samosa which was served with tomato chutney. I enjoyed the goat samosa, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the tomato chutney. As for my entree I wanted to try something different because butter chicken is always my go to when it comes to Indian cuisine. For my entree I got the Nepali Festive Thali(veg) which was a platter of rice, lentils, vegetable curry, mustard green leaves, black-eyed pea beans curry, pickles, chutneys, pappad, and it also came with gulab jamun with yogurt. We also ordered a side of garlic naan. I thought this entree was okay and I enjoyed the vegetable curry with the rice and the gulab jamun the most. Overall I will definitely be back. I'm glad I finally got to try this local Indian restaurant in my area.

The garlic naan was a 7.5/10 cause it could've used a little more garlic, but that being said it was still yummy. Overall., moksha was a great spot to check out to satisfy my Indian cravings. I will definitely be returning.
