I cant help but notice that the anti Trump reviewers have given this show a bad review calling them uneducated or fake news because they simply dont agree with their views. Got news for all you anti-Trumpers out their who disagree with them, all of your views can be labeled as uneducated or fake news as well depending on what side of the political spectrum you fall on. Bottom line if you are a progressive left anti trump person, stay away from the show. MY FAVORITE TALK SHOW (next to Dave Ramsey, hehe). I love Armstrong & Getty. Used to listen to them on my 10-15 minute drive to work in Sac. Then I moved and the 45-minute Bay Area commute was AWFUL but what made it all better was listening to A&G on the way. There's something about starting my day with them that makes me feel happy. Maybe it's the peppy "Studio C....SI SENOR!!!" or the sound bites from late night TV, the funny interviews, or just how everything flows so perfectly together. We just recently moved again and now I'm listening to the 4-hour podcasts while cleaning the house! :) There's something about listening to someone for so many years that makes them seem like family. I feel like I actually know these guys (even though they've never even met me). I've learned so much from them, laughed with them, and even cried with them. When Jack was going through his C treatments and sounded so different on the air, I was really worried! Glad he's all better now, to the point where he can put together trampolines and ride on skateboards! I love so much about A&G, not limited to: * How Marshall Phillips clues me in on the latest happenings in the world that I wouldn't know about, since "I don't watch the news...." I actually learned about Brexit from A&G first. Thought it was a term they made up hehe. If I hadn't listened, I'd be clueless about what Brexit was! * Hearing clips from late night TV (Fallon, Meyers, Conan, SNL) and LOLing in the car. * Discovering new video clips etc thru A&G. Remember "Baby Monkey" or "Word Crimes"? Never would have known about them without listening to A&G. I've actually looked up Butter Beef and Pake recipes too. They talk about EVERYTHING---Taylor Swift, Giants, Warriors, movies, TV shows, religion/faith, strange things that happen to them while traveling, recipes, parenting, weird hoarder neighbors, their families, their dates, politics, current events, strange trends in society, and so much more. I can't believe how much a talk show fits my personality so well. :) Love love love them! I listen to them online (podcasts) or on AM 650 or AM 910 (depending on where I am). 6am-10am daily. I need to find more friends who listen to them too, so I can whip out my lines and they won't look at me like I'm crazy. My husband looks at me weird when I say "Alex Baldwick" or "CHINA!" or "Apparentlyyyyyy...." and crack up laughing. The only thing I don't like is occasionally I'll be driving and a sound clip or buzzer will be VERY LOUD through my speakers and cause a slight heart attack while I quickly turn the speaker volume down. And occasionally Vince's comments will rub me the wrong way too. Like when he went off on Chewbacca Mom. What's up with that?! Did you know that the Mr. Pickles nearby has an Armstrong & Getty sandwich? Not sure if that's a regular at all Mr. Pickles or just this location. You can review THIS??!?!?!? What? I love these guys! Consistently good. They've been on Talk 650 KFBK for years. My go to travel morning radio station. One of the ONLY cons to my current Walk To Work Because Work Is A Mile Away situation is not being a Commuter Listener anymore. I'm sure there are people that would whine that Jack and Joe are too right wing or some such nonsense, but I mainly find them HILARIOUS. Their take on sports and current events is often spot on and makes my sides hurt I'm laughing so hard. They're cool dudes. I am a long time fan. read more

This morning, A&G read off some of the funny negative reviews on this page, because they previously didn't realize they had a Yelp page! Neither did I, so what a good reason to come on and review them! I had been a casual listener for a couple years on and off, but usually listened to a crappy FM morning show out of habit. A couple years ago my regular show went on summer vacation, I switched my bathroom radio over to AM 650, and never looked back! The mix of hard-hitting news, current events, and interviews with experts, mixed with a little dash of silliness (but not over-the-top morning zoo crap) is fun, educating, and entertaining. They truly are "fair and balanced," while they lean right (more libertarian than republican), they have no problem calling out ANY person/politician/organization that is corrupt or immoral. It's refreshing to hear a down-to-earth perspective, with a little bit of humor and humility. I also put their podcasts on in the evenings when I drive home to catch up on things I missed. I remain grateful that my crappy old show went on an extended break, or I'd still be listening to that slow-moving, arrogant, and mind-numbing drivel instead of the A&G show! read more

This show is much better rounded than most conservative talk shows that focus only on national news. There is some national and world news but it isn't the primary focus. This is more localized with a western regional view. Most stories include Northern California, Oregon, Washington. Some national news. Really appreciate the variety. read more

Listening to the A&G show is like watching baseball. It takes intelligence to enjoy and appreciate the art. Now since we all cannot be at the top of the intellect chart, some people would rather learn to prefect their ability to color within the lines in a coloring book. If you think that they are one sided... you clearly only listened for a cup of coffee. It takes a minute to get the humor and understand when a joke is put out and that comes back to the intellect aspect of understanding fine art. Armstrong and Getty are long time disc jockeys. Here a a run down of the staff and show. Joe Getty: Joe is one of the main hosts of the show. He is a self professed neanderthal and looks like Fred Flintstone on a 4 day bender. He grabs the wheel and leads most of the topics and interviews for the most part. He loves garlic bread but it goes straight to his hips. He pretends hes in a band and plays bad golf. Jack Armstrong: Jack is the other host and is a clumsy bald man who regularly trips over every day objects. He is referred to as "Simple Jack" for good reason. He has raced cheerleaders in combat boots and completes poorly executed somersaults on his trampoline and immediately declares victory. He once received a death treat and is still trying to "Get over it. Marshall Philips: Marshall is a world war 2 era news reporter who comes into the studio every hour to discuss current headlines. Topics frequently contain coffee and fecal matter studies. Interesting facts about Marshall include the fact that he has worn the same tan jacket for the last 6-10 years. He has an affinity for bacon and marinated lottery scratchers. In the past, Marshall has mentioned hob knobing with 70s rock stars but refuses to give many details, even on A&Gs uncensored after show podcast. This is a clear dereliction of his duties. Positive Shawn: Shawn is a pipe cleaner armed self professed comedian. He produces the show and sometimes struggles with labeling podcasts correctly. Dates and times are hard for him to grasp. Shawn has a superficial knowledge of video games and sometimes misleads A&G on the topic. Ever heard of the Oculus Quest Shawn? No? didn't think so..... Michael Angelo: Michael is the technical guru and the Fred Norris of the show, He regularly drops in funny clips into the show. His timing is really good and does not add unnecessary chatter to the fray, although he struggles with changing the bumper music coming back from commercial unless a musician has died or has a birthday. So for the most part the bumper music is fing ponderous. Handson Pantson Hanson: He is a mute The Show: 4 hours of mostly right/left leaning commentary on the days events. Both Jack and Joe take turns throwing out edgy lines and pretend to be offended by each other. Its quite entertaining even after 20 years. The bottom line if they are useful idiots and given time will be a part of your day. read more

These guys are borderline mentally handicapped. On the one hand, I hate to criticise them too much, because they're local guys and they seem to mean well, plus they're conservative but they don't just make crap up the way most conservative talk show hosts do. That said, they're still basically idiots. Their show consists of: reading news stories, misunderstanding them, then bitching about how they indicate that the country is going to hell. I grew up with talk radio; my dad would turn on the radio in kitchen every morning. In those days, it was BBC and later it was KFBK. My wife doesn't get talk radio (and doesn't like it when I whistle tunes .. but that's another review). I guess it's comforting to me and have also learned to accept it as entertainment and don't get worked up. Unfortunately, my commute isn't long enough to take in more than 20 minutes each morning. Honestly, I don't have a radio in the house or in the garage ... that's weird. On to Jack Armstrong and Joe Getty. What a couple of entertaining characters and they're somewhat radio buffoonery. They too know it's entertainment and take themselves only a little seriously. I've been a long time listener and will continue for as long as their on-air and I can tune them in. However, I deduct 1 star for Vince. I cannot stand that whiney voice. That is not a voice I want to hear on the radio. To boot, he is too eager to interject in conversation, thoughts working faster than his mouth, ... a mess. I would not miss Vince. read more

Going on 20 years listening to these guys and can't start a weekday morning without them. Hosts are smart, intelligent, funny, real. I, personally, would vote for a tad less political discourse, but that's what is topical. Their conversations can run the gamut from silly to highly technical in a single hour and I find them informative and entertaining. I love the top of the hours local news. The entire crew contributes to a well-balanced (yes, conservative bent) newsy but generally fun show. I can rely on these guys to get me the important stuff every day. read more

Listening to these guys since the days of Jamie Coffee doing the news and when they took phone calls. Being retired, I can listen every day now. What I don't get while driving, I pick up with the Podcast. Why? Two bright and articulate guys with slightly different views on the world. They do great interviews with other bright and articulate subject matter experts. This is all mixed with comedy. Sometimes the discussions are so lame I turn it off - but I usually find the discussions authentic and engaging. There is a sense of family. I can connect with the various background people. Vince: I don't quite get Vince. He's at his best when he doesn't speak. Since he gets up at Midnight to pull everything together in the form of clips and whatever else it is he does, I think he's more cerebral in a calculated way that Joe or Jack. When he is relaxed and does not force a comment, he is at his best. Positive Sean is always on target for his wry comments with perfect deadpan. I would be at a loss without his input. Marshall is a professional who has fallen into a nest of wags. The juxtaposition Marshall with the rest of the crew only makes the production more interesting. I'm also a big fan of his personal life, bringing home a bottle of wine for dinner and going through his rolodex of old flames in search of a valentine's date. Jack as a small hobby farmer (I have goats and chickens) with a big city job is also amusing as he talks of banding his bucks and shooting his roosters... activities I can relate to from experience. Jack's voice is about what you'd expect from someone who bands his bucks - intense and high pitched. Joe has that baseball announcer's voice that is easy to listen to and makes everything sound like "four outside balls". I recommend you listen via internet to either the Sacramento (KFBK) or San Diego (KFMB) stations. The San Francisco station plays advertisements for the other radio shows which I find so trite and with lack of substance as to embarrass me to listen - even when I am alone. (An insult to my intelligence and sense of humor). They also have a podcast on iHeart Radio to listen to old broadcasts or catch what you missed the previous day. read more
