Do yourself a favor and visit this great Mexican food joint! We sat in the patio room and it was a little loud but bearable. Drinks were cold and beers perfectly dressed! Fajita tacos were delicious and everything was very affordable! Ran hero beans were the BEST!! Service was good and the waitress was friendly.

Get in your car and pleaseeeee come visit this establishment. When I tell you they serve amazing food, and great customer service. I was in town for business and all I can say is I went 2 days in a row. Each time was greater and full of flavor. I went with the favorite porkchop special. It's huge, 2 pork chops, rice, guacamole, beans and warm tortillas. The salsa is spicy and just the right amount of kick. This chips are hot and fresh. I returned the next day and had the Taco Perricos, marinated beef fajita meat. Loaded plate and enough to share or take home. I took it to my hotel and had a late night treat. Happy faces, full tummies and satisfaction on all menu choices. I promise you won't be disappointed. Take care, happy eating.

This was good. I came on the recommendation of multiple people where I am working this week. It's the best Mexican food I've had in Texas. It has flavor and some spice. Service was friendly. I ordered a few things to try multiple things, and even though I hadn't eaten all day, I couldn't finish everything. my favorite was the cheese enchilada, but the fajita meat in the tacos was excellent. The chile relleno was also very good. The rice had good flavor, and I don't think I had had ranchero beans before. Overall very good, short wait, friendly service. The family also owns "the grill."

Definitely try the enchiladas de camaron, it's the best! I got it every time I went here!

Armenta's Cafe has been around for about 28 years and has been serving the residents of San Angelo, Texas. Everyone in town knows, and has been too, Armenta's - and now it's our turn. Armenta's sits on a corner in a residential section of San Angelo with parking of the sides and a big parking lot across the street, where we parked. A good number of people are here and Armenta's has expanded out to one side with a nice large dining area. We went in via the Main Front Door, were greeted by the Hostess and informed to take a seat anywhere you want. Found a booth and made ourselves comfortable. By looking around inside you can tell Armenta's has been around for a long time and has a Very Warm feeling, but well used. It's also kind of crowded with tables in the center stationed pretty close to the booths and the decor is what one would expect in a Mexican Restaurant - nicely done, especially in the newer section. Maci is our Server and brought over a basket of their Very Warm Fresh Chips and a bowl of their Very Hot dipping Sauce, but very Flavorful - and it is HOTTT. My Wife and I started off with a glass of water. We looked over the Menu trying to decide what we want. A couple days ago I informed my Wife and they have Fried Shrimp, which is one of her favorites - and that's what she wants. Maci returned with our waters and we placed our order. My Wife is going with the "Fried Shrimp": 6-Large Fried Shrimp with French Fries, Rice Pilaf, Salad and Toast. I am having "Armenta's Fajita Enchiladas"; 3-Soft Rolled Corn Tortillas filled with Marinated Beef Fajitas, American & Monterrey Cheese. Served with Roasted Tomatoes, Chile De Arbol Sauce, garnished with Guacamole. For our drinks my Wife is having a Diet Coke and I ordered their Horchata. It's been a long time since I had one of those and I LoVe ThEm. Maci took our order and we enjoyed those Warm Chips and HOTTT dipping sauce - that stuff is really goooood. More and more people are coming into Armenta's and all the tables & booths are filled. The adjoining room has it's own outside door for access and they are almost filled up - lots of people are here. Maci brought over our drinks, chatted with us for a short time and I presented her with the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award and she loved it. I don't always hand it out early like this, but Maci is Very Sweet in checking on us as she has and this place is really busy - she earned it. My Horchata is really good with a nice amount of Cinnamon throughout - love that flavor. Soon my Wife's Fried Shrimp arrived and those 6-Large Shrimp are actually Red in color due to the Breading, which has a nice crunch to them and tastylicious Shrimp inside (my Wife let me have one). Her Rice Pilaf is on the dry side but her Salad is Fresh and Crisp. The French Fries are also a little dry and no crunch but you can tell they are All Potato with nothing added. My Fajita Enchiladas is a Beautiful Presentation of the entire dish. The Enchiladas has a fair amount of Fajitas inside and they are different but pretty good. Love the Chile De Arbol Sauce on top, some really good flavor there. The Rice is moist with good flavor and the Re-fried Beans (which was not listed) covered with Cheese is really good - nice flavor. I actually had a couple of my Wife's Shrimp and there were some French Fries left on her plate. I ate all of mine because that's what I do - and I do it very well. Nancy even made a comment about that, that her Mom would be very proud of me cleaning my plate - like I said, it's what I do. Armenta's is pretty good, especially for the price compared to other places. You get some good food that will fill you up for a little money - and some Darn Good Service. The whole time we were there we noticed that All their Staff is really busy taking care of their customers. When we left there were a lot of vehicles parked around Armenta's and the big lot was almost full. We enjoyed our 12th Anniversary outing and Armenta's is a nice place. We are going to lighten it up for our Dinner tonight because we ate a Big Lunch.

Flash Fried Pork Chop Tacos!

With a quick "yelp" search, we found this Tex-Mex gem! I the party I was with could not believe that we found this place when usually, they are stuck to their chain restaurant habits. Sierra was an excellent server and suggested the flash fried pork chops special... It was everything and more that she said it would be. The fresh flour tortillas are everything you would expect from a West Texas town. Walking in, you could tell you were amongst some good people from cowboy hats, to blue collar workers, to even a few couples that looked as though they were enjoying a one on one date; everyone found something they could enjoy at Armenta's Cafe.

Came for lunch and enjoyed it! I had the carne asada tacos and enjoyed them! I didn't like the rice very much, but the beans were great. I also liked how they gave you limes and a side of other toppings for the tacos. Overall it was a good experience!

Great food. The desserts are fantastic and the flavors are authentic. I would pick this place hands down for San Angelo.

I know you know yesterday was Valentine's Day, and it's a good day to take your "Better Half" (and…read moreyou know that's true) out for Dinner at one of her favorite places. "The Grill". That also sounds really good to me. We know The Grill will be busy, especially since Valentine's Day falls on a Saturday, so we left earlier than normal. Arrived, and a good number of cars were parked all around. Walked in, and the place is packed, with every bar stool and table taken. The Hostess said it will only be a few minutes for your table. In a couple of minutes, a table was available. After we were seated, more people arrived, but they also only had to wait a couple of minutes. The Grill has two bartenders working along with several servers, and a couple of employees cleaning up the tables when they become available. Our Server is Sophia, and she took our drink order. Two Jack-N-Cokes and waters. While we waited for our drinks, we looked over the menu. We kind of already know what we are going to order, and we did. My Wife is going with one of her usuals, their "Happy Hour Nachos" ($6.50), listed as 'Roasted Pork Nachos' on the main menu. Slow Roasted Pork, Chipotle Sauce, Tomatoes, Cilantro, Black Beans, Cheddar Cheese over lots of Fresh Chips with Green sliced Jalapenos on one side, and Red sliced Jalapenos throughout the plate. I am going with the "Baja Fish Tacos", Blackened Baja Fish with Chipotle Sauce, and pickled Slaw. Served with Guacamole, Rice, Black Beans, and double Corn Tortillas for three Tacos. We placed our order with Sophia when she served our drinks. Then we toasted to Valentine's Day, and us. The bartenders here make the Best Jack-N-Cokes around. They are really good, smoooooooth, and go down easy. While we waited for our food, The Grill became busier and busier, with more people waiting. Glad we came a little early. Sophia stopped by, as well as one of the Managers checking on us to see if we needed anything. Service here is always tops. Soon our food arrived, and my Wife's Roasted Pork Nachos were served the same as they always have been, piled up high and covering the entire plate, and I might add, very colorful. I Love the way they prepare the Baja Fish Tacos with a Huge chunk of perfectly grilled fish all by itself next to the Rice & Black Beans, a large scoop of Fresh Guacamole, and several Corn Tortillas for you to make your own, with Pickled Slaw to the side. Both dishes are a Beautiful Presentation of Deliciousness that you will find nowhere else. The Grill does it right. My Wife's Nachos have a lot of melted cheese oozing everywhere with lots of corn chips and several pounds of Roasted Pulled Pork. Well, okay, maybe not 'pounds', but there are a lot of large chunks throughout this dish. She said it is delicious and loving that Pulled Pork. She ate about half of it and will take the rest home for a meal that will be for both of us - you get a lot of food at The Grill. I cut off a long chunk of fish, spread their Chipotle Sauce on a couple of corn tortillas, then the fish, topping it off with rice & black beans, guacamole, and their pickled slaw. This Fish Taco is Deliciousness and more. The perfectly grilled Baja Fish has lots of flavor with just enough spice from the chipotle sauce. I made three of these, each a little different, and they all were very Tastylicious. Each Taco was so filled with goodies I could not fold it over, and I ate them more like a Tostada instead. Either way, they are The Best. I also have some fish left over that I ate with the remaining sides, adding that chipotle sauce to each bite. I ate all of mine, with no leftovers to take home. While we were enjoying our food, Sophia said that she would like to take a picture of us with my camera because we are a cute couple. Hey, I couldn't disagree with that, so she did. Flattery will get you everywhere. Thank You Sophia. Well, guess what? Sophia earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going 'above-n-beyond' the norm, and a nice tip. We boxed up my Wife's leftovers and headed home, and The Grill was still busy as ever when we left. This was a Great way to enjoy a Valentine's Day Dinner.

Arrived at Jason's, and there was a line more than halfway to the door. This might take a while because I noticed only one person taking orders. Before you know it, I was next to order. Then I saw a hand wave above the cash register, motioning me to come over. That's when I noticed they have three areas open to take orders, and two of them are, let's say, not very tall people. Their heads were lower than the cash registers. You could not see them, but that line disappeared really quickly. Anyway, I placed my order, 100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Soup, and a Diet Dr Pepper drink. The lady replied back my order and asked what kind of soup, Tomato Basil or Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw. I asked her to repeat that, and she said, Tomato Basil or Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw. I said, I'm sorry, could you repeat the last part. She said, Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw. I then said, Tomato Basil Soup will be fine. For the life of me, I could not understand what kind of soup Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw was, and I don't know if that sounded good or not. But I do know Tomato Basil Soup is a good soup. FYI, the 100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread has two-slices of Cheddar Cheese and one-slice (in the center) of Muenster Cheese. That really sounds gooeygoodness to me. I grabbed my cup and number, filled my cup with Diet Dr Pepper (the Texas Coke), and located a table. This place is really busy with only a couple tables open. When one table is available, their Table-Cleaner is right there preparing it for the next customer. That is Service at its Best. Nicely done Jason. In a couple of minutes, my order arrived, and the Tomato Basil Soup was served in a Kettle Bowl style with Chunks of Tomato throughout and melted Chedder Cheese on top. Not what the picture showed on-line, and that looked delicious, and this looks better - Love It. However, the Grilled Cheese Sandwich is cut into small quarters. This 100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread is one-tiny-slice, but nicely toasted. Peeked inside for the cheese, and it's only a small dab of yellow and white. This is not a "Brylcreem Commercial" where a 'Little Dab Will Do Ya', it's a Grilled Cheese Sandwich, and I'm looking for the Cheese. I do not see how this could be three-slices, which doesn't even go to the edge of the toast. The Tomato Basil Soup is absolutely Delicious and Flavorful, and loving those chunks of tomatoes. Love That Soup. The 100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread is toasted perfectly and has the perfect crunch in every bite. Once in a while, you could actually taste a little cheese, but not often. The only thing I was disappointed in was their Grilled Cheese Sandwich with very little cheese. Other than that, I enjoyed my lunch and loved their Tomato Basil Soup. When I left, there was still a line, and it was moving pretty fast. Now I'm wondering what that Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw soup was and how it tasted. I didn't see it on the menu board, so it must be something new they are trying. Maybe next time I will order it, but with something other than the Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Check out a Jason's Deli near you, and if they have it, try the Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw soup and let me know how it taste.
