Service was great for a British pub, food came out quickly and very tasty and they offered free wifi which was fast (and appreciated after bad wifi at our accommodation). One young lady came over and talked to us about the town and about the ferry operations. There was also a group there who had celebrating the National Horse Race and they reminded me of people who have gone to the Kentucky Derby. I will admit I fell in love with the bartender but failed to get her name. (Sigh.) Both bartenders were excellent and took the time to make recommendations to visiting Yanks. If I'm ever back in the area I'll be sure to stop by!

I have not been in the evening so can't comment on the atmosphere at night. However, on the Sunday lunch time we went it was reasonably busy and had a real family friendly feel. The staff were nice and the veggie burger we ordered was up to the usual pub standards - ok but nothing spectacular. Worth a visit for a quick snack or a drink but wouldn't make a special trip.
