WORST experience I have ever had with a retailer. Ordered the couch in November - we were told delivery wouldn't be until January. Fine, 8 week delivery sucks but it is what it is. Prior to the arrival we were told we'd be given some shipping details but received nothing. My fiancé had to call over and over again just to get vague details about when it would arrive. When the couch arrived, they couldn't fit it up the stairwell, even broke the drywall in the hallway trying. The couch went back to the warehouse. We then hired a "couch doctor" to take it apart for us. This required paying someone to come take apart and reassemble the couch on site in our apartment - very expensive and very time consuming. On the day of the apointment, we were informed that in fact, our couch was due for delivery the next day. Livid, we had to cancel the couch doctor. We found another one who could come 2 days later, and hired him. The next morning, we received a phone call after the time the couch was already supposed to be delivered. "Sorry, it's at the wrong warehouse. Soonest we can get it to you would be next week." Are you kidding me?!? My poor fiancé has spent probably 40 hours trying to track dow and coordinate this - Arhaus has been garbage to work with, as has their delivery service Berger. Poor communication, poor management, and on top of that we can't even return the couch less we forfeit $800 restocking fee. We've been without a couch for the better part of a month. I found Arhaus online while looking for the Primrose mirror from Anthropologie. I wanted to see if could find a dupe, and Arhaus's Amelie mirror was featured on multiple blogs (I ultimately ended up buying the Anthropologie mirror). After perusing the website, I ended up getting multiple targeted ads via Instagram and Facebook. I even got some coupons in the mail (creepy!) without ever signing up for an account. Yikes! Still, once I realized they had a brick and mortar store, I made a special trip to Walnut Creek from the Peninsula to visit the store and possibly use my 30% off coupon. First off, Apple Maps has the store pinned in the wrong area. It took me FOREVER to find it. When I called the store FIVE times, no one picked up. Finally, an employee answered and she said the store was between Macy's and Nordstrom. To be more specific, once you get out of the parking garage, go right past Sunglasses Hut, Victoria's Secret, the pretzel kiosk, and Old Navy. When I entered the store, it was empty. I loved the decor and items for sale, but no one greeted me and I couldn't even find a sales associate if I tried. I did a quick peruse and I realized that I might have better luck just browsing everything online in the comfort of my home, so I left. If you know exactly what you want, come in and get it. It was the holiday season, so I was hoping to have more customer service or at least more sales associates on the floor, but no luck. read more

We went to this store on Black Friday. Bottom line: super rude employees, possibly racist? The store looked empty but the door was locked and no one would let us in or explain the capacity situation even though we could see the employees looking at us. Ultimately customers leaving let us in. Not one employee said welcome or asked if we needed help. Then when we asked for help on the price of an item we received extremely snobby responses about how items are priced individually. And when we asked how we are supposed to know the prices she said to ask employees like her. They had no hand sanitizer and when we asked for some the cashier refused to say a word to us and just tossed us a bottle. Not sure but maybe this store is not for customers who are people of color? We were the only ones there. Hard to compare as their store was empty. Overall a terrible experience, would never set foot in their again. we bought a table ahead of that experience overall. The sales person rang up the price but forgot to add the discount. I had to check the math to find out. She was overcharging us $250. When a table came, it didn't match the top and the base. When I requested a replacement, it arrived with the same problem.then I sent it back and it's been almost a month and they haven't refunded my money. I've had to reach out to the company six times to request the refund for $3000. They keep saying it's being processed, but it's not in my bank account. I would never buy from them again. read more

I can't speak to delivery and ordering but the service we received from Nancy Cleary assured us we made the right choice when buying furniture. We are ordering furniture through another location but wanted to look at other options before we finalized our purchase. Nancy showed us everything and gave us honest reviews of various pieces. She spent two hours with us and was intent on making sure we saw the items we were preparing to purchase. After our visit, we changed about 85% of our planned order...some of it based on her experience with items. The showroom was MUCH larger than the one we visited elsewhere and we are very thankful we had the option to physically see every piece we will be putting in our house. Full transparency: This review is solely on a window shoppers point of view. I came in during their post holiday sale hoping to buy some decor accent pieces. I came in on a somewhat busy Saturday for design inspiration & design inspired I am. They have many (upstairs + downstairs) rooms displaying their furnishings. Arhaus is creative, thoughtfully showcased & spacious enough to move about while other shoppers do the same. Bonus- Price points are easy to find for quick consideration. Or the good ole, 'can I afford it?' Double Bonus: there was no over zealous sales staff trying to make a sale. Prices seem to be in line with other furniture stores in the area I thought. What I'm not so sure of is the quality of the furniture. Everything seemed strong & the fabrics seemed to be of quality. However, I'm not an expert beyond my self proclaimed good taste. The decor items were mostly a hit with a few misses. Some of the items were special and probably items not so easy to find again. And others were your standard Home Goods treasures. Overall, I enjoyed the ambiance of the store & would return to get a few accent pieces once I'm sure of the design direction I'll be heading into within my home. Oh!! I almost forgot: They have jewelry too! Total surprise! There is a display case on each floor near the registers. Pretty pieces! Def can see myself returning for something pretty + sparkly. No communication after purchase. We were aware of the wait for our purchase. I was promised that I ordered in plenty of time(4 months) to receive order by a certain date. I felt ghosted after purchase. Called multiple times to ensure I was to receive my order in time. 2 weeks prior to an estimated delivery I called and was told I was not being honest about prior conversations of delivery. They could not promise delivery on time even though my furniture had arrived at the warehouse. Delivery: I was also ghosted by the delivery company after more than 6 texts making sure I was home on the delivery date including multiple texts that they were on their way the day of. I have cancelled my order due complete lack of customer service. Made first payment in March, last payment in June. It is now October and still waiting for my refund of over $8000. Our Remington sofa came months later than promised and that too only half the sofa. The sofa did not come in the best condition. The man delivering the sofa didn't know which boxes was ours and didn't bother to wear a mask. I reached out to the store about the missing portion of my and all they said is they don't know where it is and I've sent them numerous emails with no response from Kelly or the manager, Chris. A painful experience... and that just to purchase OVERPRICED furniture... Placed the order in store for two sofas and two couches and put the requested deposit (I think 50%). Salesperson told us it normally takes UP TO two months. Seemed as a long time but we spent time to choose the pieces and colors and accepted the wait. After FOUR months of waiting, contacted the store and we were told "any day should arrive". After another 2-3 weeks we got the call that the items arrived however the two chairs are damaged. At this time they charged the remaining balance owed for the ENTIRE order. The sofas were delivered but for the chairs we were to wait again about the same amount of time to reorder. Called the store and after several attempts (about a week long), Chris assured us there is nothing he can do about the turnaround time. Also, we asked him to refund the amount charged for the items not received. He did not want to offer any thought on that. At this point with them being PAID IN FULL, their interest of assisting our needs was not available. We requested the Regional Manager to contact us. After almost two weeks Phillip Weitlauf called. This was a great representation of ARHAUS company standards: Phillip was rude, unwilling to provide any options on the fact that we were negatively impacted by their neglect and was surprised by the initial sales person that told us the wait is TWO months when according to him, is at least FOUR months for items to arrive. He's solution was to patiently wait another 4-5 months until the order arrived and he would not even consider the refund of the amount charged for the items we did not receive until they would arrive. We had to waste more time in research for another person from the company to speak with. We finally got hold of Helena Griffin, Concierge Manager. She was at least talking and had some patience. Our request all along was to credit back the amount paid for items not received, and since this is taking so long, for some loaner chairs so that the room the furniture was purchased for, would not look so empty. We had birthday and Holidays gatherings with PURCHASED items, PAID IN FULL but NOT RECEIVED. Promises but NO ACTION. We placed the order July 2019 and received the last item February 2020. Chis the Store Manager is confused and has no power to solve anything. Phillip the Regional Manager is an arogant and disrespectful image of a company that unfortunately still is operating. Arhaus.... the operation is beyond acceptable for what they claim to be US based. The quality of the furniture is average at best with imperfection in the material and poor craftsmanship.The Customer Service is nonexistent. Company image is made of individuals with poor training, awful management and misrepresentation of truth. I wish JOHN REED, the CEO would be more involved and show some leadership. The delivery company they are using is untrained and have lots miscommunication. When the delivery persons entered our house, while raining outside, walked on my white carpets without any protective gear over their shoes. The stains had to be removed by professional carpet cleaners. Helena, The Concierge Manager was the only one from the company that attempted to act. After the entire ordeal she was able to provide us with about a 10% discount on the purchase. Purchased a table over 8 months ago and finally received my table. Love the table but three weeks later someone left an item that had some moisturizer on it overnight and it stained the table. It was not hot just wet. This caused discoloration and there isn't anyway to remove it. Arhaus customer service simply said you received it the minute we left you're on your own. Gave me a list of how the wood is unique and what to do to take care of it. Isn't it too late at this point. Why after spending $5000 on a table do they not give us a care instructions before if this wood is that fragile. So disappointed as I love this table. read more

While the furniture is of good quality, these folks are horribly unreliable when it comes to delivery dates, which slip and slip and slip over MONTHS not weeks. The communication between the big warehouse in the sky and the 'local warehouse' is confounding. Forget about planning around an expected delivery date - don't believe it until it is in your home. I also have found the sales staff to be sadly non-plussed by the repeated issues with delivery of several pieces of furniture. It's obviously par for the course here. read more

I originally purchased from Arhaus while living in another state. They provided excellent service and I really enjoyed the furniture I purchased. When I moved back to CA I was so excited to see Arhaus open in Walnut Creek. I purchased a couch two years ago and it's great. In Feb I wanted to purchase a matching ottoman. The whole process of purchasing this was a hassle and so disheartening. I was told if your purchase is not significant do not expect any service. Previously I had such great service and in no way expected it to be this bad. My ottoman was supposed to arrive in early March but then the world shut down. I have tried twice this week to get an update. Again, if your purchase isn't significant don't expect courtesy or any information. Extremely rude. read more

My wife was charged $300 in shipping for something that she purchased *in the store* - I've never heard of having to pay any shipping from a brick and mortar store, let alone $300. It's not my fault that your inventory is somewhere across the country, you should have freight contracts and localized warehouses to help get things closer to customers for pickup, that's how every other furniture store does business, we just bought a table from Crate & Barrel this way. I called their Arhaus "concierge" to ask for help, I'm very willing to come pick up the chairs with my truck - they had zero interest in helping - just kept repeating that I can call around to other stores to try to find the items. And for the store, we really like the quality and the unique designs of Arhaus. Their store is fairly large with 2 levels and plenty of items on the floor to test and see up close. In November of 2020 (62 weeks ago), I had ordered the Kensington buffet in ebony base/white marble at a fantastic Friends & Family 30% discount and was told by the manager, Bernadette, that this piece would arrive in March 2021. I thoroughly understood that Covid- related shipping delays would happen and gladly waited for the piece to arrive in June 2021. It should be noted, that I only received updates on the delivery date when I contacted Arhaus. When it did arrive, the marble top was thoroughly cracked in half and deep gashes were found in the interior base which were pointed out by the deliverymen. When I looked inside, there was a "Made in China" sticker - so like me, don't assume that the name Arhaus and spending $$$ means that the actual pieces are manufactured anywhere other than China, which to me at least, implies subpar quality. Upon inspection, I immediately contacted the manager and told her about the damaged piece. She was shocked and assured me that she would contact the Arhaus Concierge/territory manager and get out a new piece to me as soon as possible. Days, weeks, months go by and with the exception of 2-3 times, unless I called/emailed Bernadette, there was radio silence. Every time I reached out, it was communicated to me that a marble top was in stock but the hold up was on the base. And yes, the Kensington is NOT one solid fixed piece- a marble top sits on top of the base. It is now 1 year, 10 weeks since the purchase date, and I'm being told the same thing since June 2021 despite the fact that even now the Kensington is avail with the projected shipment date of 17 weeks out. The point is that it is not backordered or discontinued. This implies that instead of just sending me a new piece (2 components), Concierge has been making me wait on the just the bottom piece since June 2021. Needless to say, but this has been the worst experience I've ever had with any company across all categories - receiving a heavily damaged piece (even the delivery guys were shocked), discovering this $3,000 + piece is made in China, and the lack of communicating until I've reached out over the course of 1 year 10 weeks. I am shocked and disappointed especially considering Arhaus is considered a high end furniture store much like Restoration Hardware. Investing in this item, I had assumed the Arhaus Concierge would have handled and resolved this 62-week ordeal with care, efficiency and competency. This is way beyond a Covid-related shipping delay. There simply is no excuse. I finally gave up on this social experiment, which is how I treated it, and requested a full refund. I suppose if there is one iota of a silver lining, it's that Bernadette was perhaps one of two employees at the Walnut Creek store who has ever greeted me over the course of a few years since they opened their doors. Profiling really? My husband and I walked in excited to buy a couch, dining chairs and bedroom set for our new house. I joined an Arhaus group on FB and have been eying several pieces I wanted to see in person before purchasing. Unfortunately, as soon as we walked in two men who were working behind the counter started to profile us and everyone in the store. There was no greeting or smiles. I could clearly hear one of them saying those are "just accessory shoppers" and look at those over there with their children, blah blah. You as an employee represent the whole store. Regardless of what people look like on the outside, you have absolutely no idea whether they will buy something or not. This employee was a person of color and should really be more conscious about spreading negativity like this. Beautiful store but I cannot support it. read more

If you want to know how Arhaus is and you are ordering something large enough to be delivered by their trucking vendor, Ryder Final Mile, go take a look at those reviews. As beautiful and well made as Arhaus products are, it simply isn't worth the frustration and horrific customer 'service' you will get from Ryder while attempting to take delivery of your items. I finally wrote a letter to one of the Arhaus executives, outlining my experiences, and didn't get a response. I get it -- supply chain disruptions are bad. It makes it difficult to predict when pieces will arrive. But here's the thing -- I worked with my Arhaus Sales Associate and ONLY selected pieces that are in stock, in the Arhaus warehouses, to furnish my home. This is because of the poor delivery predictability. Despite choosing items IN STOCK, it is 2+ months and no furniture! Ryder has hung up on me; Ryder Customer Service Rep told me to "shut up and listen to me." My delivery for today, which hasn't shown up and no call/email twice already, just got rescheduled according to the online portal, and despite confirmation to my phone. Arhaus gets this feedback, yet they don't fix the problem by replacing Ryder, so as much as I like the company, I am going to cancel in-flight orders if possible and never ever return to them. read more

We are very happy with our purchases and service from Arhaus. Our designer in Walnut Creek CA, Dennis, did a superb job of guiding us based on the information he gave him. The delivery process was the best we've experienced. We were told the expected ship date at the store. We were notified that the furniture was shipped on time and we were able to select a delivery date online. Just before that date approached, we were given a timeframe and asked to confirm our availability. They arrived on time and set up our beautiful new furniture. I had similar issues like Shaun S. posted. That was a while ago. Their furniture is very nice and a gorgeous showroom. The problem is with their staff and salespeople. They don't deliver as promised and don't follow up with the customer. Also they charge for shipping. They don't allow you to pickup from the store. Basically they pass on THEIR shipping costs to you in that they force you to pay for home delivery. I shouldn't have to pay $200 to ship something because they don't have it in their store. It didn't matter to them I'm a customer who paid $10k previously on furniture, they refused to waive the shipping cost. So, no problem; I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I would give this store ZERO stars if it was at all possible. I ordered two custom Harvey recliner swivel chairs in OCTOBER. They were finally delivered earlier this month ( March). They are the WRONG fabric. I called the store and was told I would need to speak to a manager because the sales person from whom we ordered was no longer with the store. I was told to email photos of the custom fabric swatch we ordered and the chairs we actually received, which i promptly did. ZERO response. We visited Arhaus and purchased a couple pieces of furniture to fill up our new home. The gallery is clean and filled with tons of ideas to decorate your home. The staff was overall very accommodating and perhaps even a tad hungry to sell. I didn't necessarily see the aggressive salespeople as a negative; the sales process was overall smooth on the front end. ***Updated 11/13 I am in the middle of a nightmare customer service saga. We ordered a dining table which was originally supposed to deliver late-September (it's 11/13/2018 today). We were assured in late-September that the table would arrive at their California depot within the week, at which point we'd be contacted to schedule delivery. For the past several weeks, we have continued to check in and have been given the same answer - "one more week". I called again yesterday. We were given a new estimated date of FEBRUARY 2019. That's correct, 5 months after they initially projected delivery. Five months!!! Yikes. The only information they gave me was that there was a glitch caused by a sku# change. To make matters worse, their main depot in Ohio doesn't seem to know what the other hand is doing in California. No one was been able to fully resolve our issue and the manager at this location in Walnut Creek, CA is difficult to get a hold of. I've called consecutive days to make them aware of the terrible fulfillment process and lack of follow up - no call backs or any peep. Ball's in your court, looking forward to receiving some help. Lovely furniture, total con job. Came in and dropped $13k on furniture July 31. Sales person checked and said "oh good, its in the warehouse, we can deliver by August 12." August 12 came and went - no delivery scheduled by Arhaus. (you know what's coming right?) Called store "Oh, she must have meant it was in the MAIN warehouse, we won't be able to deliver until August 20". You guessed it - no joy Called store "Oh, its left the main warehouse, but its not here yet. I'm pretty confident we can deliver by Sept.9, but just in case, let's say 'for sure by Sept. 15'" still nothing scheduled for delivery Called the store, they looked in their systems to see what the warehouse notes were. They said the notes showed my furniture had been there for over a week but "no call" had been made to the customer to schedule delivery. They emailed the warehouse Monday, Sep.19 I called the warehouse Monday Sep.19. Message said "we are experiencing longer than average wait times, we can call you back and you won't lose your place in line." Never called me back. Called store today, asked to speak with manager - not available, but they will call me as soon as they're free. No call yet (4:00 pm) so......what do I do? Cancel order? Take out full-page ad in WSJ? Couch took 6 months from order to "being ready to deliver". 10+ phone calls with Arhaus' customer service + their last-mile provider Ryder (who has even worse customer service). I still haven't been able to get the couch. Ryder had confirmed 2 separate times it's delivery, and then during the day-of delivery, they said they couldn't fit the couch in the truck / couldn't make it out. Highly encourage working with another furniture brand. read more

So I've bought two tables from the Walnut Creek location... the problem isn't with the tables but their delivery services. The first one came and wasn't installed probably and almost fell on a little kid that came in to admire it. The first table took about two months to receive. Then I had to wait for them to come back and install the base properly. Now today Ive been waiting for 3 weeks for delivery of the second table and they call me at the same time they are supposed to arrive and tell me they can't deliver it till Saturday. Crazy I've had to take off work and now cancel vacations to receive a table. I'm beyond upset this is bananas and not the way a luxury furniture store should treat their valued customers. Needless to say I'm gonna think twice before placing another order they is gonna require me to put my life of hold. So an update I took Saturday off so I could get the table they gave me a window of 10-12... noon comes around and I'm sure you can guess the table didn't arrive so I call the store cause the delivery office is closed on Saturday... the store says I had a window from 11-1 whatever... so I think around 1:00 I receive a automated phone call saying it will arrive in 30 mins... the delivery literally arrived at 2:00. The store manager never reached out to even apologize. The last time I had an issue with the first table at least the store has the common brains to apologize. This time nothing lol. The lady on the phone literally told me well last week I got a flat tire and couldn't make it to work.. thing happen... seriously lady things happen it takes 20 mins to change a flat tire and I would have fired you if you worked for me. We were upset for missing items and having delivery person get our new carpets/furniture dirty. Left all their wrappings outside and a few boxes, does this sound like white glove?? We went to the store spoke with the Manager (she is new?) and said she was brought to make changes. Well the prior reviews hold up!!! Horrible experience, she said she would send someone to clean the stains and refund our money for delivery. We also had a few items come in damaged, upsetting since this place is not cheap, and said we would get a replacement. Well another truck came with no replacement just a bed frame, which makes no sense as we received the bed 3 weeks earlier??? We went back to the store and assured us that we would get the replacement, refund and cleaning. Have not received anything to date. Every time we call, they are always busy, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Go to pottery barn, crate and barrel or even living spaces. You will be treated much better and not lied to. I will update the names of the manager when I visit the store once again today. read more

Dealing with the Walnut Creek store was a headache from beginning to end, including interacting with several employees - from floor representatives to the store manager, Chris. The lack of communication and inconsistency in their messaging was ridiculous and utterly unprofessional. I'm not even going to detail the lack of knowledge that representative displayed when I brought my interior designer with me to the store. I ordered five pieces of furniture in November 2020. I understand that, due to COVID, manufactures are experiencing delays. But when a delay is going from 3, to 4, to over 6 months now with no communication from the representative that assisted you, it's unacceptable. The only times I was able to receive an update was when I called to check on blown deadlines or dates. Then, when I spoke to the manager about the issues with my order, the delays, and the lack of communication, he repeatedly and disrepsectfully cut me off to rudely "what do you want?" and state "that's not our issue." The unprofessional tone he directed towards me took me by surprise. I've never had an establishment where I spent such a large amount of money treat me in such a rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional manner. I understand that delays happen, but I am baffled why Chris, as a manager, refused to apologize or be accountable for his employees' lack of communication. The customer shouldn't be berated for wanting consistent updates. I had to resort to calling the online customer service number to attempt to get updates on everything, because every time I contacted the store representatives, they would give me incorrect dates and information. In short, I will never recommend or shop at this store again. If I need furniture for my house, I would rather go through their online site, SF Design Center, or any other furniture store to deal with professionals. This store's representatives and manager need to attend customer service and sensitivity training. It's unacceptable and I refuse to be treated like that as a customer. read more
