Really excellent meal that happens to be waaaay off the beaten path. Quite a trek from central Milan...and even a bit of a walk from the main drag of Navigli...but I honestly can't imagine a more unique dining experience than Arepa'z.
This place is casual. And a bit random with a large
yellow horse structure immediately upon entry. We made a reservation on the Fork, but when we walked in (just minutes after they opened for dinner), only one table was occupied (though others were reserved). Service was friendly, efficient, and informative.
I had the vegetarian platter with eggs. My partner had an arepa with beef/beans/plantains. Both were delicious. Maybe not the healthiest meal but certainly among the heartiest - that's Venezuelan cuisine for you. But...If you're smart about what you decide to eat versus what you trim, it's easily both healthy and hearty. Ask for hot sauce if that's your jam.
Go here for savory. And go for gelato a few minutes away at La Gelateria della Musica. read more
