When visiting from out of town I had some spare time and needed to get my nails done and decided to visit Ardor nail salon. It has the look of a luxury nail salon while still at a reasonable price. I got a gel manicure and the experience was very pleasant and the staff very friendly. Nancy was great and very conversational which helped me feel comfortable. They had heating pads to warm up my hands while I waited for my old polish to soak off which was a really nice touch. My nails turned out great and she made the shape exactly how I asked. No wait even though there were a number of clients receiving services. I chose gel nail polish to get the most for my money. Lots and lots of great colors to consider so it was easy to find one I liked. I'm not one to talk with my beautician and preferred it with my manicure which was no problem. This was my first time visiting this salon. It was fantastic I can't remember the gentleman's name who did my nails but he did an amazing job. I got a full set with gel and I came in with a picture of the style I wanted and he helped my pick the perfect colors and he really took care of me. I have never been one to splurge much on mani/pedía so when I do go, it is because I have a special reason or special occasion. I started coming here a few years ago when I moved to Leawood, and have gone here almost exclusively. In the beginning, and I always walked away, feeling like I had a good experience. However, my last three times of going here have not been positive. Once I just had a really poor pedicure with polish was so thick that even after sitting there for 30 minutes drying, it still smudged my toe an hour later when I put my shoes on. The next time, I had an appointment, and still had to wait 30 minutes before I was serviced, even though I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment. The last time was the most annoying because I had an appointment, I arrived early, went in and picked out my nail color, and a lady came in as I was choosing my color and said she really liked my color. She asked her technician if there was another bottle of it, but there wasn't. As I went back for my pedicure, the other technician servicing the second lady came over, and asked for the bottle I had chosen from my attendant and my attendant gave it to her. When I expressed concern, because I had already made it clear that I was tight on time that morning, she said it wouldn't be a problem, that it wouldn't take long because the other lady was only getting a manicure and by the time she needed it for me, it would be available. That's not what happened, and I ended up having to wait. Finally, because my schedule was tight, I ended up having to choose a different color to be sure and stay on my schedule. I might return and give them one more chance, but I do have another salon I used to go to in my former home, and I'm thinking it might be worth the extra drive to go back there. read more

I don't go here often because I don't live close. When I'm in the area and have gone to them over the last few years it's been a consistent experience in that I'm greeted upon entering and everyone is super friendly! They do a good job and I've never had to wait. They have all your typical nail salon offerings and a wide selection of colors. They also offer a discount if you pay in cash and have a punch card to earn a free service. Definitely give them a try for nails! read more

The salon was clean and staff friendly but not even 2 weeks later and several of my dipped nails are lifting and one is chipped. I've had many dip manicures from other salons and never had an issue with lifting or chipping, even wearing them up to 4 weeks. The tech gave a good pedicure, but there was no lotion or arm rub with the manicure and he did at least 3 layers of dip which seemed like a lot but maybe that's normal. I got an organic deluxe pedicure today. My technicians name was Na and she was very personable and friendly. The place is nice and clean and bright. Someone said the pedicure thrones are "on top of each other" and they are right that they are very close, but not so uncomfortably so. They were able to get me in 15 minutes after I called even though it was a busy Friday evening. It's the best pedicure experience I've had in a long time, I will definitely be going back to get services from Na again. I don't know why they have so few reviews, that would usually be something I'm very skeptical of, even if they are positive. But it seems like this place just needs a little more Yelp recognition. Used to go here 4/5 years ago and they always did a great job. Stopped going, and recently started going back. The first time wasn't great but thought I would give them another shot. Second time going was horrible so won't be back. They tell you what the price for something will be, then triple it when it's time to pay. I was charged $25 extra for French tip. I have being getting my nails done from an year at different locations. As I was visiting Kansas I got acrylic nails done at this saloon. The customer service was okay. Initially a guy started doing my nails but in half way he walked me to another lady to finish the job which he was supposed to do. They work on your nails very quickly. They left many gaps between the nails and they gave me uneven lengths of nails for which I walked again and asked them to bring it to a similar sizes. They charge you different prices for different shape of nails. The all over work on nails is not perfect and you feel like they left their job in half way. This is the closest salon to my house, and I wanted to to like it. The inside looks nice, but I've been in twice now and wasn't happy with my service either time. Most recently when I went it, I just wanted to the dip gel (done at a different salon weeks prior) taken off and a manicure, no polish. I was sat at a table with a man who seemed annoyed I wasn't getting polish. He placed a bowl of scolding hot liquid in front of me and told me to put my nails in. I went to do so and the liquid was so hot I immediately yanked my fingers out. I had to wait about 5 minutes before it was cool enough to place mt hands back in. He then sat in the back of the salon watching tv and on his phone, vaping when he thought no one was looking, and had me sit there for 45 minutes before coming back to check on me. It was the longest removal process I've ever experienced. On top of that, the skin on my fingertips started peeling off the next day and looked horrible for almost a week. The manicure I paid for was also a weak attempt, and left my nails uneven and hangnails not clipped. I will not be going back again. read more
